DRUGS

• A 27-year-old Chehalis woman was arrested for inhaling toxic fumes after police responded about 6:30 p.m. yesterday to the 2600 block of Cooks Hill Road in Centralia. She was allegedly found “huffing” compressed gas and was released with a citation, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Chehalis police were called about 10:20 a.m. yesterday to W.F. West High School at the 300 block of Southwest 16th Street to investigate a marijuana violation. A report was taken but no arrest made, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

BAR FIGHT

• Three men were arrested for fighting in public after allegedly being involved in a physical dispute in a bar on the 100 block of South Tower Avenue in Centralia just before 2 a.m. yesterday. Issued citations and then released were Brandon M. Webley, 32 of Centralia; David Aguinaga, 28 of Yelm; and Michael D. Aguinaga, 34 of Chehalis, according to the Centralia Police Department.

THEFT, THEFT, THEFT

• Centralia police were called just before 10 p.m. yesterday to the 1100 block of View Avenue where an individual reported her purse was stolen from the break room at work.

• Centralia police were called to the 400 block of West Main Street about 10:15 a.m. on Monday where they took a report of the theft of a toy made from brass shell casings. The case is under investigation, according to the Centralia Police Department.

FRAUD

• Chehalis police were contacted just after 1 p.m. yesterday by an individual who reported receiving an email they believed from their employer asking them to purchase gift cards in what turned out to be an attempted scam in a case associated with a location on the 1600 block of North National Avenue.

DRUGS

• Centralia police arrested a 21-year-old woman about 5:45 a.m. today after contacting her in her vehicle at the 900 block of Old Airport Way and reportedly observing drugs in plain view on her lap. Felicia M. Segerman, of Chehalis,  was booked into the Lewis County Jail for possession of methamphetamine, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Chehalis police called about 7:30 p.m. yesterday for a woman allegedly “huffing” in a parking lot at the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue arrested the 27-year-old Chehalis resident for inhaling toxic fumes and then released her to a relative.

• A small plastic bindle of suspected methamphetamine was found inside a store at the 600 block of South Tower Avenue in Centralia after two customers had been asked to leave the property around 12:30 a.m. yesterday. It was not clear at the time who the item belonged to, but the matter is under investigation, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Because a small plastic bindle with residue was found near a 25-year-old Chehalis man when he was contacted by police at about 11 p.m. on Monday at the 600 block of Harrison Avenue in Centralia, a case is being referred to prosecutors for a potential charge of possession of methamphetamine, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Chehalis police were called about 2:40 p.m. on Monday to the 500 block of Southeast Adams Avenue where suspected heroin and methamphetamine were found among a client’s belongings at a detox center. • Centralia police responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian accident just before 6:10 a.m. today at North Pearl Street and Zenkner Road. This case is under investigation, according to the Centralia Police Department.

FIGHT

• Centralia police ended up arresting a 30-year-old man for second-degree assault after being called to the 1000 block of North Scheuber Road at about 1:25 a.m. on Saturday. Kyle R. Johnson, of Centralia, had allegedly been involved in a fight with an acquaintance, according to the Centralia Police Department. He was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to police. Prosecutors today are declining to file the felony charge.

BURGLARY

• A soccer field concession stand at the 2000 block of Borst Avenue in Centralia was broken into, with candy and money stolen, according to a report made to police about 9:10 a.m. on Saturday.

• Centralia police are investigating a possible burglary where an unknown individual entered onto an individual’s fenced property at the 400 block of Harrison Avenue and stole items, an incident reported to police at about 5:50 p.m. on Friday. The suspect is described as a man in his 40s who wore a Dallas Cowboys’ jersey with the number 41, according to the Centralia Police Department.

•  An individual told police cash was stolen from a wallet during work hours at their place of employment at the 900 block of South Scheuber Road in Centralia, according to a report made about 11:20 a.m. on Friday.

AUTO THEFT

• Police were called about a stolen car about 9:45 a.m. on Saturday from the 2500 block of Mount Vista Road in Centralia. Missing is a black 1994 Honda Accord, bearing a license plate reading BKC 1241, according to the Centralia Police Department. The vehicle has a yellow bumper sticker on back, according to police.

FRAUD

• Chehalis police were contacted about 12:30 p.m. on Friday by a business whose bank had informed it of fraudulent payroll checks issued on its account, in a case associated with 600 block of Northwest California Street.

CAR PROWL

• Centralia police were called about 8:50 a.m. on Friday to the 600 block of Ham Hill Road to take a report that items were stolen from a locked vehicle during the evening. Missing is a vehicle battery, according to the Centralia Police Department.

DRUG VIOLATION

• Centralia police called about 11:15 p.m. on Sunday to the 100 block of West Walnut Street investigated a woman for a noise violation who allegedly was found to be in possession of “legend drugs” without a prescription and an open bottle of liquor. Trina L. Landry, 43, a person without an address, was arrested for obstructing a public servant and then released with a court date, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• A 30-year-old man contacted by police at the 900 block of South Scheuber Road at about 6:10 a.m. on Saturday was allegedly found to be in possession of heroin. He was not booked. A criminal charge is being referred to prosecutors. according to the Centralia Police Department.

WOMAN SCAMMED OUT OF MONEY

• A 53-year-old woman contacted her Chehalis bank and then police yesterday upon discovering she’d been tricked by an online offer of government grants. It came through Facebook and enticed her to turn over $2,000 for “processing fees” to obtain a supposed $60,000 grant, according to the Chehalis Police Department. She was told to deposit the money into a certain account and then subsequently contacted and told to turn over more money via gift cards, according to police.

SCAMMERS POSING AS DEPUTIES

• The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office received several calls yesterday in which potential scam victims say they were called in reference to the Internal Revenue Service by people using names of actual members of the sheriff’s office. They are investigating, and meanwhile, want the public to know the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office does not request credit card or financial information for any of its services, nor does the office conduct IRS investigations. Chief Deputy Bruce Kimsey says it appears scammers are using Internet and social media resources to identify actual law enforcement members. Anyone who has received a message and is unsure about it, may contact the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office at 360-748-9286 and ask the deputy named to contact them.

ATTEMPTED EQUIPMENT THEFT

• Chehalis police were called about 4:15 a.m. today to the 1000 block of Northwest Maryland Avenue where someone had attempted to steal a log splitter from outside of a business. They had cut the security cord and moved the splitter, which was found laying toward the end of the driveway, according to the Chehalis Police Department. The item’s value is just short of $2,100, according to police.

ASSAULT INVESTIGATION

• Chehalis police were called to Green Hill School about 9:30 a.m. yesterday to investigate a third-degree assault by a student-inmate on a staff member, according to the Chehalis Police Department. Further details were not readily available today.

• A 45-year-old Centralia resident being detained for an alleged domestic assault allegedly kicked a police officer about 4:45 p.m. yesterday at the 500 block of South Diamond Street. Misty A. Rains  was booked into the Lewis County Jail for third-degree assault, according to the Centralia Police Department.

INTIMIDATING

• Chehalis police were called about 3:45 p.m. yesterday regarding a third-party contact between an inmate at the Lewis County Jail and a person in Chehalis concluded Benjamin P. Hamilton, 36, had, allegedly, been attempting to intimidate a witness, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

• A 23-year-old Centralia man was arrested early this morning after he allegedly entered a residence without permission at the 700 block of South Gold Street at about 4 a.m. today. Jacob S. BURGLARY SUSPECTS BOOKED

• A second suspect from a weekend break-in to the Chehalis Livestock Market was arrested about 3:30 a.m. today at the 100 block of U.S. Highway 12 after being interviewed by a detective. Jesse Huguenin, 31, from Napavine, was booked into the Lewis County Jail for second-degree burglary, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies had been called about 3:20 a.m. on Saturday to the 300 block of North Hamilton Road, told that an employee had caught two males in the sale barn, but they ran off, according to the sheriff’s office. A K-9 track led to one suspect, Erik G. Spicer, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies searched Spicer’s vehicle and found a black duffle bag which contained multiple tools that could be used to gain entry into buildings or fenced areas, as well as a small amount of suspected heroin, according to Chief Deputy Bruce Kimsey. Spicer, 32, of Napavine, was booked for second-degree burglary and possession of heroin, according to Kimsey.

• Four suspects were arrested between Friday and yesterday in connection with burglary earlier this month at the 200 block of Oppelt Road east of Chehalis. Deputies began to investigate about 7 p.m. on Sept. 6 and found that the property was actually burglarized twice, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. The victim captured images of two male and two female suspects with surveillance cameras and subsequently uploaded photos of the suspects onto social media, according to the sheriff’s office. The suspects were identified a short time later. There was damage to the door jambs of the residence and shop and among the items taken were a gas can, game camera, hose, hammer and tools, according to Chief Bruce Kimsey. Booked into the Lewis County Jail were George M. Vance, 54, Rochester, for second-degree burglary; and for second-degree burglary as well as first-degree trafficking in stolen property were Nathan J, Spalding, 21, Jacquelyn J. Bray, 20, both from Rochester and Anna L. Lowery, 31, Centralia, according to Kimsey.

• A shoplifting suspect who allegedly presented herself to police as someone else at the the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue shortly after 8 p.m. yesterday was subsequently arrested for second-degree identity theft, third-degree theft and an outstanding warrant. Kelly N. Myhre  was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to police.

• A decorative yard sprinkler was stolen from the victim’s side yard at the 500 block of North Tower Avenue in Centralia, according to a report made to police about 2:45 p.m. yesterday.

• Chehalis police were contacted about 9 a.m. yesterday by an individual who reported receiving notification from a cell phone service that two phones had been purchased in her name, in a case associated with the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. The victim had not made those purchases and the incident is being investigated as credit card fraud, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

• Chehalis police were called to the 2100 block of North National Avenue about 8:10 a.m. yesterday where someone had cut lines and stole approximately 41 gallons of fuel from rental trucks.

• A 44-year-old Centralia man arrested for an outstanding warrant about 1:45 p.m. yesterday at Tower Avenue and Second Street was also arrested for possession of heroin, according to the Centralia Police Department. Guy A. Johnson  was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to police.

• Chehalis police are investigating after a woman reported about 5:10 p.m. yesterday she was walking her dog past a residence on the 600 block of Northwest Quincy Place when a boxer-type dog jumped a fence and bit her dog. The woman said when she tried to pick up her pup, the boxer bit her, according to the Chehalis Police Department.
