ASSAULT

• A 54-year-old Chehalis man was arrested for second-degree assault after a female acquaintance said he choked her at a residence at the 300 block of North Market Boulevard in Chehalis on Friday. Officers called about 4:25 p.m. booked William B. Pickett into the Lewis County Jail, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

INDECENT LIBERTIES

• A 59-year-old Chehalis area man was arrested yesterday after an acquaintance reported an incident she said happened several days earlier in which he allegedly showed up drunk at her Lewis County home, was allowed to stay over to sleep it off and she awoke to him naked on top of her. She yelled and shoved him away and he apologized, got dressed and left, charging documents allege. Barry R. Engeseth was booked into the Lewis County Jail and then charged today in Lewis County Superior Court with indecent liberties. He was allowed release with a $25,000 signature bond.

AUTO THEFT

• A blue 1990 Honda Civic was reported stolen about 6:40 a.m. today from the 2800 block of Russell Road in Centralia. The four-door car has a cracked windshield and a license plate reading BCS 7060, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• When Centralia police attempted a traffic stop on a stolen Honda about 11:45 a.m. on Sunday, the male driver stopped in the middle of the roadway near the 300 block of N Street and ran off on foot. A K-9 track led to a nearby house, but when officers searched inside, the suspect had already left, according to the Centralia Police Department. The investigation continues, according to police.

• A stolen Honda car was located about 7:50 a.m. on Sunday at the 1000 block of Long Road in Centralia. It was returned to its owner, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• A 1996 Honda Accord that had been reported stolen in Napavine was recovered about 5:50 a.m. on Sunday at the 300 block of North Oak Street in Centralia.

• Centralia police were called about 8:35 a.m. on Saturday to take a report regarding the overnight theft of a red 1994 Toyota truck from the 1800 block of North Pearl Street. It has a license plate reading C59115C, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• An officer on patrol about 11:55 p.m. on Friday along the 600 block of Northwest Middle Street in Chehalis spotted a parked car that was stolen and contacted two individuals inside of it, according to the Chehalis Police Department. The gray 1996 Honda Accord was missing from Pierce County and Daniel D. Karl, a 32-year-old Rochester resident was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to police. Prosecutors today declined to file the felony charge.

• Chehalis police were called at 9:45 p.m. on Friday and told a stolen car belonging to a co-worker was going through the drive-through of a fast food restaurant at the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. It was described as a gray Toyota Camry and wasn’t located by police until the following day in Centralia, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

• A 28-year-old Centralia man was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle and attempt to elude following an attempted traffic stop that began just after 9 p.m. on Friday near Pennsylvania Avenue and Middle Street in Chehalis. It began because a headlight was out and the driver got onto Interstate 5 heading south, but a Chehalis police officer stopped the 1991 Acura Intergra using a PIT maneuver near milepost 71, according to the Chehalis Police Department. Zachary J. Maurer told police he had been asked by someone else to drive the car to Cowlitz County, according to police. Maurer was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to police.

• When Centralia police responded to an approximately 5:30 p.m. call on Friday of two males stealing items from a store on the 1300 block of Lum Road, and located the suspect’s vehicle, the driver provided identification but then fled when it turned out the car was stolen, according to the Centralia Police Department. The car was later located in Thurston County, according to police.

• Centralia police were called about 4:25 p.m. on Friday to take a report that a  2000 Honda Civic had been stolen from the 200 block of North Pearl Street. Its license plate reads BDA 4036, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• At 9:10 a.m. Friday, police were called about the theft of a 1991 Toyota Camry from the 1400 block of Johnson Road in Centralia. It has an Oregon license plate reading UHF140, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• A blue 1991 Honda Accord was reported stolen about 8:35 a.m. on Friday from the 700 block of North Washington Avenue in Centralia. Its license plate reads 691 ZCS, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Centralia police were called just before 8 a.m. on Friday about the theft overnight of a Honda CRV from the 400 block of Ash Street. It was later located in the area of Centralia-Alpha Road, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• An officer was called at 7:10 a.m. on Friday about a Honda stolen during the night from the 300 block of South Buckner Street in Centralia. It was recovered two hours later near Edison Elementary School,  according to the Centralia Police Department.

STOLEN GUNS

• A 77-year-old Onalaska man contacted law enforcement yesterday to report that while he was moving out of his residence at the 400 block of Gore Road, he discovered two handguns were missing. He had several individuals helping him with the move and deputies are investigating, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

CAR PROWL

• Centralia police were called at 7:05 p.m. on Sunday to take a report that during the night, someone disconnected and stole a battery from a travel trailer at the 700 block of J Street.

• Police were called about 10:30 a.m. on Sunday regarding a vehicle prowl at the 1300 block of View Avenue in Centralia.

• A firearm was stolen from a vehicle at the 300 block of South Diamond Street in Centralia, according to a report made to police about 9:35 p.m. on Friday.

• An iPad and sport equipment were stolen from a vehicle at the 900 block of Johnson Road in Centralia, according to a report made to police just after 4 p.m. on Friday.

• Centralia police were called about 3:45 p.m. on Friday regarding a diaper bag and its contents stolen from a locked vehicle at the 500 block of Harrison Avenue.

DRUGS

• A 33-year-old Olympia man arriving to the Lewis County Jail on a relay from Thurston County yesterday told officers there might be drug items in his backpack, and there were, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. Christopher C. Mercer was additionally booked for possession of methamphetamine, according to the sheriff’s office.

VANDALISM

•  A BB hole was found in a store window at the 1500 block of South Gold Street in Centralia, according to a report made to police about 4:10 p.m. on Friday.

AUTO THEFT

• Centralia police were called just after 7 o’clock this morning to take a report that a Honda Civic had been stolen during the night from the 300 block of South Buckner Street. License plate is AUX 5262, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Two people were arrested after a trooper pulled over a stolen vehicle, which the driver said she had purchased from someone named Donny. When the vehicle was searched, a loaded syringe with suspected methamphetamine was found as well as a key which did not operate any of the door locks, according to court documents. Destiny T. Runyan, 28, of rural Chehalis, and Kevin C. Huey, 27, from Centralia, were booked into the Lewis County Jail. Charging documents in the case do not reveal the type of vehicle recovered, nor do they indicate where in Lewis County the traffic stop took place; only that it occurred on today’s date. Runyan was charged today in Lewis County Superior Court with possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of a controlled substance. Huey was charged with only possession of a controlled substance.

• An abandoned stolen vehicle was located in a parking lot at Rock Street and Centralia College Boulevard about 12:50 a.m. today, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• A bronze colored 1992 Honda Accord EX stolen on Wednesday from the 1000 block of Big Hanaford Road outside Centralia was found abandoned in a parking lot just before midnight at Locust Street and Washington Avenue in Centralia. It was returned to its owner, but the the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate.

• A deputy was called about 7:30 p.m. yesterday to take a report of the theft of a 1994 Honda Accord from the 3000 block of Ives Road in Centralia. It was last seen by its owner on Wednesday, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

• A silver 1997 Honda Accord was reported stolen just after 4 p.m. yesterday from Pear Street and Washington Avenue in Centralia. Its license plate reads ADV 0932, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• A red 1992 Honda Accord was reported stolen from King Street and Centralia College Boulevard at about 1:45 p.m. yesterday. It has a license plate reading AVJ 7872, according to the Centralia Police Department.

BURGLARY

• A 33-year-old man was arrested yesterday afternoon after a woman on the 100 block of Annonen Road outside of Winlock called 911 to say she’d found him in her guesthouse, which is for sale. She also found two bottles of wine in the guest house that came from her barn, according to court documents. Justin S. Cargill was arrested for second-degree burglary and booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Dusty Breen said some change and a pocket knife were believed to have been taken and the suspect was believed to have also gone into the woman’s home. Cargill has an address in California, but told authorities this afternoon in Lewis County Superior Court he has been staying at a homeless shelter in Hazel Dell.

THEFT

• Chehalis police were called just before 11 a.m. yesterday about the theft of equipment from the 1500 block of North National Avenue.

• Centralia police were called at 8:20 a.m. yesterday to take a report of the theft of money from a residence at the 700 block of G Street.

CAR PROWL

• Police were called about 10:45 a.m. yesterday to take a report of the theft of a wallet from an unlocked vehicle parked at the 400 block of West Sixth Street in Centralia.

DRUGS

• A 17-year-old boy arrested for an outstanding warrant about 4:25 p.m. yesterday in Safeway at the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue was also allegedly found in possession of methamphetamine, according to the Centralia Police Department. He was wanted by the Chehalis Police Department in connection with an incident near Penny Playground on Wednesday, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Centralia police are referring a case for charges of minor in possession of marijuana in connection with the arrest of a 17-year-old boy for an outstanding warrant about 2:50 p.m. yesterday at the 1200 block of Lum Road.

• Centralia police were called about 6:35 p.m. yesterday when an individual reported he was approached by several teenagers and asked for money at the 200 block of East Chestnut Street, but when he pulled out his wallet to give a small amount a suspect grabbed the cash and ran, according to the Centralia Police Department.

BURNED BY TEENS

• Police responded to Centralia High School about 2:40 p.m. yesterday to investigate an incident in which two boys in a shop class allegedly placed heated pieces of metal on two of their fellow students, which caused minor injuries. The case is being forwarded to prosecutors for evaluation for possible felony assault charges, according to the Centralia Police Department.

BUSINESS BURGLARY

• Centralia police were called just after 1 p.m. yesterday to the 100 block of South Tower Avenue for a burglary of numerous tools from a job site.

• Chehalis police were called about 12:30 p.m. yesterday to the 1900 block of Northeast Kresky Avenue where it appeared someone had broken into a recreational vehicle.

FRAUD

• A 21-year-old Centralia resident was arrested for forgery and second-degree theft after being contacted by police during a “suspicious circumstances contact” about 5:40 a.m. today associated with the 1800 block of Shamock Drive in Centralia. Police detectives had already been conducting an investigation in which Dakota S. Duel, 21 of Centralia, was a suspect, according to the Centralia Police Department. Duel was was booked into the Lewis County Jail.

AUTO THEFT

• A gold 1996 Honda Accord was reported as stolen during the night from the 900 block of South Pearl Street in Centralia, according to a report made to police just before 7 o’clock this morning. Its license plate is APH 8559, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Centralia police were called just before 7 a.m. today to take a report that a a gray 1993 Dodge Dakota pickup, was stolen during the night from the 1100 block of Scammon Creek Road. Its license plate reads C59008C, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• A deputy was called just after 10 p.m. yesterday to the 1000 block of Big Hanaford Road outside Centralia where a bronze colored 1992 Honda Accord EX had been stolen sometime between 5:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. The car had been left unlocked with the keys inside, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. The license plate is 444 ZMO, according to the sheriff’s office.

• A red 1990 Honda Civic was stolen from the 1700 block of Northeast Kresky Avenue in Centralia, according to a report made to police about 9:40 p.m. yesterday. License plate is BDN 4963, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Centralia police were called just after 11 a.m. yesterday regarding a brown and beige 1988 Ford pickup stolen from the parking lot of a business at the 300 block of East Van Buren Street. It has a license plate reading B42052R, according to the Centralia Police Department.

TIRES, WHEELS REMOVED

• Centralia police were called by three victims yesterday morning who reported sets of wheels and tires had been stolen off their parked vehicles, at the 100 block of South Railroad Avenue, the 600 block of K Street and the 300 block of North Iron Street. Police have no suspect information this morning but officers are investigating, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Centralia police were called about 2:50 p.m. yesterday to take a report that several items were stolen from an unlocked vehicle while it was parked at the 1000 block of E Street.

• A 43-year-old driver was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after a rollover wreck yesterday afternoon on the 900 block of Bunker Creek Road. Deputies called to the scene about 2:30 p.m. report she was driving a 2000 Ford Expedition, had no passengers and suffered a head injury, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. Chief Deputy Dusty Breen said the woman is from Selah.

BURGLARY SILVER CREEK

• A deputy was called yesterday to the 100 block of Filbert Road in Silver Creek where sometime after 11 p.m. Monday and before 8 a.m. yesterday someone broke into a storage container and stole power tools including a Stihl chainsaw, clothing and other items. A lock was cut, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

AUTO THEFT

• A white Honda Civic was reported as stolen sometime overnight from the 200 block of Railroad Avenue in Centralia, according to a report made to police just after 6:30 a.m. today.

• A deputy looking for a stolen 1998 Honda Civic in Vader yesterday evening came across the car with a 15-year-old boy behind the wheel in the area of the 500 block of Sixth Street, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. The Vader teen had an outstanding warrant and was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, Chief Deputy Dusty Breen said. The deputy learned a 28-year-old Kelso resident was involved and subsequently located Marcial Gonzalez and booked him into the Lewis County Jail for the same offense. Breen said the car had new damage to its rear.

• A black 1996 Honda Civic was reported stolen from the 600 block of Centralia College Boulevard just before 3 p.m. yesterday. The four-door car has a license plate of BEW 3460, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Centralia police were called about 8:40 p.m. yesterday to take a report that chainsaws and a leaf blower had been stolen from the bed of a truck while it was parked at the 1200 block of West Plum Street.

• Police were called to the 100 block of East High Street in Centralia about 7:35 p.m. yesterday where someone had stolen a stereo from a locked vehicle.

• A purse was reported stolen from a locked vehicle at the 600 block of Centralia College Boulevard at about 1:10 p.m. yesterday.

ASSAULT

• Centralia police were called just before 11 p.m. yesterday to the 1700 block of South Gold Street where a man reported he’d been assaulted by three unknown males after meeting up with his child’s mother during a visitation. The victim however decided not to make an official statement to police, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Centralia police were called to the 800 block of Eshom Road about 8:10 a.m. yesterday for an alleged fourth-degree assault. The case, with a 15-year-old girl as the suspect, was referred to prosecutors for charging, according to the Centralia Police Department.

ON THE ROAD, OFF THE ROAD

• Centralia police are investigating a hit and run case in which a 71-year-old pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and knocked to the ground just before 6:40 p.m. yesterday at West Main Street and Tower Avenue. The woman, from Oregon, suffered minor head injuries and was transported to Providence Centralia Hospital, according to the Centralia Police Department.

DOMESTIC DISPUTE

• An individual went to the Morton Police Department about noon yesterday to report she and her boyfriend had gotten into an argument near the cemetery on Seventh Street and said he grabbed her by the throat, according to police. She told him to leave and go cool off but to bring the car back, yet after she went to the hospital and waited for an hour for him to return, he did not, according to police. Neither he nor the car had been located as of yesterday afternoon, according to police.

BREAK-IN CENTRALIA

• A business at the 1700 block of Industrial Drive in Centralia reported about 11:50 a.m. yesterday it had been burglarized, according to the Centralia Police Department. Missing were a Johnson 15 hp outboard motor and assorted hand tools

• Centralia police were called about 10:15 a.m. yesterday for a burglary at a home on the 1000 block of North Washington Avenue. Taken sometime during the previous three days were a Ridgid brand air compressor, two nail guns and 50 foot air hose, according to the Centralia Police Department.

VEHICLE THEFT

• Centralia police were called about 2:10 p.m. yesterday to the 1800 block of Harrison Avenue to take a report that a black tandem-axle dump trailer had been stolen  sometime since Saturday. It has a license plate reading  3425XL,  according to the Centralia Police Department.

•  A 1998 Honda Civic that was reported stolen from Chehalis Tribal Police was located at the 1100 block of South Silver Street in Centralia at about 12:45 p.m. yesterday. It was returned to its owner, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• A car reported stolen about 2:35 a.m. last Thursday from the 100 block of Second Street in Morton was located the following day outside the city limits by the Washington State Fish and Wildlife Department, according to the Morton Police Department.

FRAUD

• Centralia police were called about 9:45 a.m. yesterday to take a report that a PayPal account was hacked and the culprit set up a new account using the victim’s information, in a case associated with the 2200 block of Eureka Avenue.

MORE THEFT

• A vinyl sign for a local business at the 1200 block of Mellen Street in Centralia was stolen overnight, according to a report made to police about 12:20 p.m. yesterday.

CAR PROWL

• A deputy was called about 7:10 p.m. yesterday to the 1100 block of Fieldcrest Avenue in Centralia for a vehicle prowl in which a Lenova laptop computer belonging to a business had been stolen sometime during the previous week while the owner was away. There was no forced entry to the vehicle, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. The loss is listed as $1,000, according to the sheriff’s office.

•  A car stereo, cell phone charger and cash were stolen out of an unlocked vehicle parked at the 1000 block of South Pearl Street in Centralia, according to a report made to police about 7:45 a.m. yesterday.

VANDALISM

• Someone damaged two mailboxes in front of a business at the 1400 block of Kresky Avenue in Centralia, according to a report made to police just before 9 a.m. yesterday.

K-MART ARSON INVESTIGATION

• Chehalis police are investigating an arson incident at K-Mart in which merchandise on a shelf was found burning. Firefighters were called about 10:13 a.m. on Friday to the 1200 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue found the fire was out when they arrived, according to the Chehalis Fire Department. A customer reported smoke and an employee took a fire extinguisher to it, Fire Investigator Derrick Paul said. Completely burned was  plastic cat carrier, Paul said. There was no ignition source in the area, in the southeast corner of the building near the garden center, he said. The joint investigation includes a detective with the Chehalis Police Department.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

• A 37-year-old Winlock man was arrested for felony assault after deputies were told that as his ex-girlfriend during a dispute tried to crawl out a window, she was pulled back in, held down and choked. A deputy responding about 10:25 p.m. on Thursday to a residence on the 100 block of Noble Fir Estates learned he had also punched a hole in a wall inside the bedroom, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. Gilberto Contreras Figueroa was contacted booked into the Lewis County Jail for second-degree assault, according to the sheriff’s office.

SEXUAL ASSAULT

• A 34-year-old Centralia man was arrested for second-degree rape after officers were called just after 3 a.m. on Saturday by a woman who reported she had been raped at a residence near South Pearl and Cherry streets in Centralia. Jeremy L. Francis was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to the Centralia Police Department.

DOWNTOWN NIGHT FIGHTS

• Officers called just before 2 a.m. yesterday to the 100 block of South Tower Avenue arrested a 32-year-old Winlock resident for fighting in public. Jesus A. Canedo was issued a citation and then released, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Centralia police called about 1:20 a.m. yesterday to take a report someone assaulted an individual on the sidewalk in front of a drinking establishment at the 100 block of South Tower Avenue learned the suspect had fled in a mini van. A summons for fourth-degree assault is to be issued for Christopher K. Brotherton, 26, of Longview, according to the Centralia Police Department.

HOSPITAL ASSAULTS

• Two people were arrested after several health care facility employees were assaulted at the 900 block of South Scheuber Road in Centralia on Saturday night. Officers called about 9:40 p.m. booked Jason R. Ferris, 32, of Centralia, and Jennifer R. McCarty, 24, a homeless person, into the Lewis County Jail for third-degree assault, according to the Centralia Police Department.

MORE ASSAULT

• A 24-year-old Centralia resident getting arrested for third-degree malicious about 3:45 p.m. on Saturday at the 2600 block of Cooks Hill Road allegedly assaulted the officer trying to detain him. Lucino Mendoza-Farias was then booked into the Lewis County Jail for third-degree assault, according to the Centralia Police Department.

HARASSMENT

• Chehalis police were called to take a report of harassment at the 1200 block of South Market Boulevard at about 3:50 p.m. on Saturday. Officers are awaiting further information from the victim, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

BURGLARY SILVER CREEK

• The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office reports approximately $1,000 worth of valuable were stolen from an unsecured outbuilding at the 100 block of Crater View Drive in Silver Creek sometime between Wednesday evening and Thursday morning. ELECTRONICS MISSING

• Centralia police were called about 7:20 p.m. yesterday to the 900 block of Orton Street to investigate the theft of several electronic items while the homeowner was out of town.

AUTO THEFT

• Chehalis police were called about 7:20 a.m. yesterday regarding a maroon 1994 Honda Accord stolen from the 10 block of Southwest Cascade Avenue sometime since midnight.

• The Chehalis Police Department reports an officer at about 3:45 a.m. yesterday saw a Honda car with its door open sitting on the side of the road at Southwest McFadden Avenue and Eighth Street and then found it had been stolen. The owner who had reported it missing to Chehalis Tribal Police was contacted to pick it up, according to police. Missing though were tools and a bag of clothes, according to police.

• A blue 1977 Chevrolet pickup truck was reported stolen from the 2100 block of North National Avenue at about 8:40 a.m. on Thursday. It had a gray toolbox in the back, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

• A beige and gold 1992 Ford F-150 was reported stolen about noon on Friday from Tower Avenue and Pine Street in Centralia. It has license plate reading B82148N, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• A white 1994 Honda Civic was reported stolen from the 800 block of West Pear Street in Centralia at about 11:40 a.m. on Friday, according to the Centralia Police Department. Its license plate reads BHB 6926, according to police.

• A white 1991 Honda Civic was reported stolen from the area of Centralia College at about 2:50 p.m. on Thursday. It has a license plate reading AXH 8096, according to the Centralia Police Department.

FRAUD

• A Chehalis resident called police just before 2 p.m. on Saturday to report finding a $6,000 fraudulent charge on her bank card.

• Chehalis police were called about 2:10 p.m. on Saturday to the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue to collect four counterfeit $100 bills the store had received.

MORE THEFT

• A 34-year-old Centralia man was arrested on Saturday on a warrant in connection with the theft of a gun and other items from the Lewis County senior center on the 2500 block of North National Avenue last month. Adam T. Kay’s warrant was for theft of a firearm and second-degree theft, according to the Chehalis Police Department. He was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to police.

• The theft of a set of very specialized keys were reported stolen from the 900 block of Harrison Avenue in Centralia at about 10:40 a.m. on Friday. The investigation is ongoing, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Centralia police were called to the 1400 block of West Main Street in Centralia on Thursday to take a report that gas had been stolen from there in recent days.

FAKE NAME

• Officers responding about 5:25 p.m. yesterday to the 500 block of Woodland Avenue in Centralia about a possible incident of driving under the influence ended up arresting a 32-year-old Centralia resident for allegedly providing a false name and birthdate. Alfonso Francisco-Rodas was booked into the Lewis County Jail for providing false information to a public servant, according to the Centralia Police Department.

DRUGS

• A 25-year-old Centralia resident was arrested for possession of methamphetamine when he was contacted about 8:15 p.m. yesterday at the 100 block of South Street in connection with the investigation about the recovery of a stolen vehicle. Justin W. Haugen was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Centralia police were called to the 800 block of Eshom Road in Centralia just before 11 a.m. on Thursday to investigate a student suspected of attempting to distribute marijuana brownies.

VEHICLE PROWL

• A 29-year-old Chehalis resident contacted law enforcement about 5:45 a.m. on Friday following the discovery that someone had taken his wallet and 22 caliber rifle out of his unlocked truck while it was parked at the 2500 block of King Road in rural Chehalis.

TRESPASSING

• A police officer came across people under a bridge near the 7700 block of northbound Interstate 5 about 2 a.m. on Friday and asked them to move along, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

ON THE ROAD, OFF THE ROAD

• A driver was injured when his Jeep Grand Cherokee headed north on state Route 7 crossed the oncoming lane, went off the road striking several trees and came to rest about 60 feet off the road. Troopers called about 2:50 p.m. on Saturday to the scene about 14 miles north of Morton indicated the vehicle was totaled. David A. Jones, 67, from Portland, was transported to Morton General Hospital, according to the Washington State Patrol. He had been wearing a seat belt, according to the state patrol. Jones was cited for driving under the influence, for not having a valid license and for wheels off the roadway, the investigating trooper reports.

• A bank bag containing more than $8,000 cash was lost and then found and returned to its owner in Chehalis yesterday. The item was discovered in a shopping cart by an employee in the Wal-Mart parking lot at the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue, according to a report made to the Chehalis Police Department just before 8 a.m. yesterday. STUDENT IN TROUBLE

• Centralia police responding to the 800 block of Eshom Road about 8:45 a.m. yesterday allege a 17-year-old boy was in possession of drug paraphernalia. The case is being referred to prosecutors for charging, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• A 48-year-old Toledo woman was injured when her vehicle collided with a rear pilot car for an oversize load crossing state Route 505 at Interstate 5 this morning. The 2013 GMC Terrain sport utility vehicle was traveling north and used exit 63 to bypass the overpass but failed to yield to 505 traffic, according to the Washington State Patrol. Lisa Coward-Godbey was driving a 2008 GMC Savana van northbound on state Route 505 and hit the SUV, according to the state patrol. Troopers called to the scene at 9:30 a.m. found both vehicles were damaged but only the van was towed. Coward-Godbey was transported to Providence Centralia Hospital
