VIOLENCE KNIFE

• Centralia police were called about 8:10 a.m. yesterday about a man threatening a 19-year-old Centralia resident with a knife at the 700 block of North Tower Avenue. The victim was not injured, but Anthony P. Johnson, 24, of Centralia was arrested for first-degree assault and booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to the Centralia Police Department.

VIOLENCE HANDS

• A 14-year-old Randle girl was arrested on Sunday night after allegedly placing her mother in a choke hold until she began to lose consciousness. A deputy responding to the 100 block of Kehoe Road about 8 p.m. booked the teen for second-degree assault, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office

VIOLENCE FIREARM

• Centralia police were called about 2:53 a.m. yesterday to investigate gunshots that were heard after an argument between a male and a female at the 1100 block of Brotherson Road. No one was injured and the investigation is ongoing, according to the Centralia Police Department.

VIOLENCE FURNITURE

• Chehalis police were called on Friday morning to Green Hill School to investigate an incident from Sept. 1 in which a 16-year-old student-inmate allegedly threw a chair during a fight between two boys and it struck a staff member on the arm.

BURGLARY CENTRALIA

• Centralia police were called about 10:45 a.m. yesterday to the 600 block of North Gold Street where it appeared several storage units had been broken into. Officers are attempting to locate victims to identify what property is missing, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• An individual at the 100 block of South Tower Avenue in Centralia reported late Saturday afternoon that she was missing jewelry following a garage sale at her house.

• Cash and prescription pills were reported stolen in a burglary at the 3000 block of Borst Avenue in Centralia, according to a report made to police about 12:40 p.m. on Friday.

VEHICLE PROWL

• Chehalis police were called about 1:35 p.m. on Saturday regarding a car prowl at the 10 block of Southwest 17th Street in which a purse was stolen.

• Centralia police were called about 9:40 a.m. on Friday to a report that  car stereo was stolen in a vehicle prowl at the 2400 block of Borst Avenue.

BAD BILL

• Police were called to a store at the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue in Centralia just after 2 p.m. on Friday where a counterfeit $50 bill had been passed.

DRUGS

• A 43-year-old Toledo man contacted about 1:15 a.m. today at the 400 block of Oyler Road in Ethel – when a motion activated camera at a construction site alerted someone – was arrested for an outstanding warrant and also a violation of the Uniform Controlled Substances Act when suspected meth was located in front pocket. Johnathon R. Hamilton, was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

• The Morton Police Department reported today that on the evening of Sept. 11, officers responded to the 300 block of Kosmos Lane to a report of a small dog going onto a neighboring property and defecating on the carpet in the house.

• A 47-year-old Centralia woman was arrested for driving under the influence after her car struck a semi truck at Airport Road and Northwest Louisiana Avenue in Chehalis just before 10:30 p.m. on Saturday. Sheri A. Bobbitt was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

• A 52-year-old Rochester man was arrested for  driving under the influence after his Volkswagen collided with a guard rail at the 200 block of Leonard Road in Onalaska at about 8:45 p.m. on Friday. Derik L. Sandoval was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office

BB GUN SCARE

• Three women fitting a saddle on a horse in Vader reported a 65-year-old man approached a fence from adjoining property, shouted “come over here” and raised a handgun, and fired what sounded like three shots yesterday, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. A witness heard the women screaming and what sounded like three firecrackers, according to the sheriff’s office. A deputy dispatched about 12:20 p.m. to the 100 block of Enchanted Lane recovered a CO2-powered BB gun and arrested Richard Bakke for three counts of first-degree assault, Chief Deputy Dusty Breen said. Bakke was booked into the Lewis County Jail. Prosecutors declined to file the felony charges but are evaluating the case for lesser charges in Lewis County District Court.

VEHICLE PROWL

• Chehalis police were called about 6:10 a.m. today to the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue where a silver Trek bicycle had been stolen from a vehicle. The value is about $2,500, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

DOG TOYS TAKEN

• A large tote containing dog toys was reported stolen about 6:20 a.m. today from the 1300 block of Belmont Avenue in Centralia.

YARD THEFT

• Police were called yesterday afternoon regarding yard decorations stolen from the 100 block of North Ash Street in Centralia.

MISSING MEDS

• Centralia police were called just after noon yesterday to the 1100 block of L Street to take a report about stolen medication.

FUEL THEFT

• Centralia police yesterday indicated they issued a summons for third-degree theft to a 26-year-old Chehalis man for theft of gas in a case associated with the 500 block of South Tower Avenue.

MISSING HONDA FOUND

• A deputy was called about 9:50 a.m. yesterday to take a report that a 34-year-old Chehalis woman had taken a 58-year-old woman’s 1999 Honda Accord the day before without permission from the 1700 block of Ferrier Road in Winlock. The car and the suspect were located in rural Chehalis and the suspect said she had been allowed to borrow it, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. Sophea M. Delavergne was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for  taking a motor vehicle without permission and a warrant, according to the sheriff’s office.

ON THE ROAD, OFF THE ROAD

• Centralia police responded just after 11:15 p.m. yesterday to a two-vehicle collision in front of the police department at West Maple and North Pearl streets in which both parties blamed the other, according to the Centralia Police Department. The drivers were both females and it was a dispute over relationship issues, according to police. Fault has not yet been determined, but damage was minimal and no injuries were reported, according to Sgt. Dave Clary.

• Chehalis police were called about 7:10 p.m. yesterday when a Ford Ranger drove through a patch of ivy and into a for sale sign in a yard near Southeast Prospect and 16th streets and was abandoned. The incident remains under investigation, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

JACKPOT CAR PROWL

• A deputy was called for a car prowl about 8:50 a.m. yesterday just southeast of the city of Chehalis in which one of the items stolen was a backpack containing approximately $52,800 worth of bonds from a bail bond agency. The driver’s side window of the 40-year-old victim’s Toyota Corolla had been broken out, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. It happened at the 100 block of Roberts Drive, according to the sheriff’s office. The case is being investigated as a first-degree theft. Chief Deputy Dusty Breen asks anyone with information to please contact the sheriff’s office or Crime Stoppers of South Sound.

BREAK-IN MINERAL

• A deputy responded to a residential burglary yesterday at the 3400 block of state Route 7 in Mineral and found someone had entered through the back door and made off with televisions, clothing and other personal items. It happened sometime since Sept 3, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. The loss is estimated at about $2,000, according to the sheriff’s office.

OTHER THEFT

• Chehalis police were called just before noon yesterday to the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue to investigate the use of fraudulent checks. The case is ongoing, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

• Chehalis police were called about 7:25 a.m. yesterday to the 2100 block of North National Avenue to take a report of the theft of a Penske tow dolly. The loss is $3,500, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

VANDALISM

• Chehalis police were called just before 5 p.m. yesterday to take a report of spray painted tagging of a building at the 400 block of Southwest 15th Street.

LIFE SAVED ON RAILROAD TRACKS

• Centralia police say a bystander pushed a man out of the path of an approaching train yesterday at the 200 block of East Main Street in Centralia. The potential victim, described by police as a male transient, had a cart of his belongings which got stuck on the railroad tracks and didn’t see the train coming just before 11:20 a.m., according to the Centralia Police Department. He was not injured, according to police. It was two summers ago when Victor J. Bonagofski, 72, lost his life when he fell off his bicycle on the tracks at the nearby Locust Street crossing and was hit by a freight train.

• Lewis County Fire District 5’s Lt. Laura Hanson reminds the driving public that when the expected rains arrive on Sunday, people will need to be super careful about the oil on the surface of the roadways. “It will be super slick,” Hanson said.

•  Jesse T. Anderson, 37 of Centralia, was arrested for second-degree assault after allegedly hitting and choking his girlfriend during a dispute at the 1000 block of Alder Street in Centralia yesterday. Centralia police, contacted about 11:30 a.m., booked Anderson into the Lewis County Jail. Prosecutors declined to file the felony charge.

• Chehalis police were called to Green Hill School yesterday morning to take a report of an incident that occurred last month in which an 18-year-old student-inmate allegedly grabbed the arm of a staff member, while refusing to go into his room, according to the Chehalis Police Department. The case is being investigated as custodial assault, according to police.

BREAK-IN TOLEDO

• A deputy was called yesterday to the 5100 block of Jackson Highway to take a report that someone had broken into the Cowlitz Prairie Grange sometime during the previous two weeks. It appeared they had climbed in through a window and while inside, damaged a door frame and window. Nothing was taken, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

MALICIOUS MISCHIEF

• A 23-year-old Centralia man was arrested yesterday for allegedly tampering with railroad equipment at the 600 block of North Railroad Avenue in Centralia. Pablo Enriquez-Martinez was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to the Centralia Police Department.

THEFT

• Centralia police were called at 6 p.m. yesterday to take a report of of the theft of license plates from a vehicle at Harrison and Belmont avenues.

• Chehalis police were called to a parking lot at the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue where sometime between 6 a.m. and 3:56 p.m., yesterday someone removed a curved 50-inch LED light bar from a truck. It was described as a Cree 228W, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

• Centralia police were called to the 600 block of F Street about 8:40 a.m. yesterday to take a report that jewelry had been stolen from a dresser after a guest stayed overnight in November.
