FREEWAY HIT AND RUN

• Centralia police were called about 5:30 p.m. yesterday following a collision on the freeway’s collector-distributor lane near Harrison Avenue when the suspect vehicle followed the victim vehicle toward a parking lot but then fled.

CAR DOWN EMBANKMENT

• A 68-year-old motorist was injured when his car traveled down a 20-foot embankment and came to rest against trees along the 900 block of Lincoln Creek Road outside Centralia yesterday. Deputies responding about 8:15 a.m. indicate the Toppenish man was taken to Providence Centralia Hospital for treatment related to neck, back and head pain. His 1995 Chevrolet Cavalier was totaled, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

WRONG WAY DRIVER HITS COP CAR

• A 25-year-old motorist who allegedly drove the wrong way on North Gold Street in Centralia and collided with a Centralia police car was arrested early yesterday for driving under the influence plus hit and run, according to the Centralia Police Department. It happened shortly after 2 a.m. and both vehicles were damaged but nobody was hurt, according to police. Dillon S. Lindsey, 25, of Centralia, was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to police.

POLICE PURSUIT

• A 48-year-old Tacoma woman was arrested for attempt to elude after an episode about 11:15 p.m. on Saturday in Centralia in which she allegedly sped away from an officer when the officer tried to stop her for traveling the wrong way on the road, according to the Centralia Police Department. The chase was associated with Mellen Street and Harrison Avenue, according to police. Sophia M. Roses was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to police.

THEFT SUSPECT WRECKS

• Workers with the state Department of Transportation followed a pickup truck where the driver was suspected of stealing a cattle gate on Thursday afternoon until it crashed on state Route 7 near milepost 9, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. The suspect fled on foot and was not located but a meth pipe was found on the floorboard of the vehicle, according to the sheriff’s office. The suspect has been identified as a 48-year-old Aberdeen resident and the case will be forwarded to prosecutors for evaluation of charges of third-degree theft and a violation of the Uniform Controlled Substances Act, Chief Deputy Dusty Breen said.

PHYSICAL VIOLENCE

• A 53-year-old Centralia woman who allegedly bit her boyfriend was arrested for fourth-degree assault after police were called about 12:15 a.m. yesterday to the 600 block of H Street in Centralia. Kim D. Elliott was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Centralia police called to Providence Centralia Hospital arrested a 51-year-old man who allegedly threw an item at an employee and arrested him for fourth-degree assault at about 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Darren L. Fullerton, 51, of Centralia, was booked into the Lewis County Jail,  according to the Centralia Police Department.

INTRUDER

• Centralia police were called to the 2700 block of Russell Road when an individual arrived home to find someone else inside about 6:25 p.m. on Friday. The resident had discovered an interior door locked which should not have been locked and heard a male and a female voice in the home, according to the Centralia Police Department. The intruder(s) fled out the back door, according to police.

FIREARMS MISSING

• Deputies are investigating an estimated $20,000 worth of firearms reported stolen from the trunk of a vehicle at the 2700 block of Graf Road in Centralia yesterday. The 21-year-old Centralia man said he was transporting them for his grandfather and there were seven to nine guns taken, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

AUTO THEFT

• Centralia police were called just before noon on Saturday to take a report of the overnight theft of a white 2014 Chevrolet Malibu from the 500 block of West Center Street. The car was later located in Grays Harbor County abandoned, after it left the roadway and drove off an embankment, according to the Centralia Police Department.

MORE THEFT

• A 40-year-old Winlock woman arrested for suspected shoplifting at Wal-Mart was subsequently arrested also for identity theft after police discovered she had given someone else’s name as her own yesterday afternoon. Sophea M Delavergne was was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

• A black 26-inch Schwinn bicycle was reported stolen at the 100 block of South Oak Street in Centralia about 9:40 p.m. on Friday.

• Centralia police took a report from the 700 block of North Washington Avenue about 6:35 p.m. on Friday regarding the unauthorized use of a debit card over the previous several weeks.

• Chehalis police were called about 11:30 a.m. on Friday by a woman who left her purse at a business at the Twin City Town Center and when she returned, it was gone.

• A purse that was left on a driveway at the 2600 block of Seward Avenue in Centralia was reported stolen about 10:30 a.m. on Friday.

CAR PROWL

• A computer and an iPad were stolen from a vehicle at the 1000 block of J Street in Centralia, according to a report made to police about 6:30 a.m. today.

• Chehalis police were called about 2:15 p.m. on Sunday to the 600 block of Northwest Hawthorne Place where someone had gotten into a vehicle and stole bank cards and cash.

• Police were called for a car prowl about 4:20 p.m. on Saturday at the 700 block of Allen Street in Centralia. Its window was broken and a red/tan Coach purse was stolen, according to the Centralia Police Department.

DRUGS

• Police called about 3 p.m. on Friday to the 800 block of Eshom Road in Centralia arrested a 17-year-old boy for alleged possession of marijuana at the school, according to the Centralia Police Department.

AND, FROM MORTON

• Police responded to the 800 block of Main Avenue in Morton at about 2:40 a.m. last Thursday to assist the fire department regarding a male that had fallen into the Tilton River. The officer located the individual and escorted him back to the other responders, according to the Morton Police Department.

VANDALISM

• Chehalis police arrested a 33-year-old man who allegedly broke an apartment window and climbed inside at the 100 block of Southwest Fifth Street at about 11:45 a.m. on Saturday. Matthew E. Eastman reportedly was confused, said this was not his place and it was not, according to the Chehalis Police Department. He was booked into the Lewis County Jail for third-degree malicious mischief and first-degree trespassing, according to police.

RESIDENTIAL FIRE

• Firefighters were called on Saturday evening for a fire at a mobile home off of state Route 507 behind DJs market and then another fire in a mobile home on Sunday afternoon on Vantine Road, according to South Thurston Fire and EMS. Administrative Chief Tina Vanderhoof said she didn’t think anyone was injured in either fire and was not certain about the extent of damage.

ASSAULT

• A 47-year-old Centralia woman who allegedly punched a stranger yesterday was arrested for fourth-degree assault, according to the Centralia Police Department. Officers called at 1 p.m. to the 100 block of North Tower Avenue arrested Michelle D. Henning, and then released her pending court, according to police. The victim was reportedly uninjured.

• Chehalis police were called at about noon yesterday to Green Hill School to take a report of an alleged custodial assault occurring on Nov. 10.

BURGLARY CHEHALIS

• Chehalis police were called this morning to the 100 block of Southwest 12th Street where an individual reported that sometime between 2 a.m. and 6:30 a.m., someone entered the enclosed porch of her home and stole a telescope.

CAR PROWL

• Centralia police were called about 6:10 a.m. today to the 200 block of North Ash Street where a vehicle was broken into during the night and an LED light was stolen.

• Police were called about 9:20 a.m. yesterday to the 2600 block of Cooks Hill Road in Centralia where someone broke into someone else’s vehicle and stole two Mexico passports and the registration.

• Centralia police were called to the 200 block of North Ash Street about 8:45 a.m. yesterday to take a report of a vehicle being broken into. Nothing appeared to have been stolen, according to the Centralia Police Department.

DRUGS

• Two people arrested yesterday afternoon for shoplifting at the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue in Centralia were also arrested for having drugs on them, according to the Centralia Police Department. Officers were called about 4:40 p.m. and ended up booking  into the Lewis County Jail Duane L. Pines, 31, of Renton, for possession of methamphetamine and  Johnny R. George II, 31, of Federal Way, for possession of meth and heroin, according to police.

• Police called about 1:55 p.m. yesterday to the 800 block of Eshom Road in Centralia arrested two high school students for alleged possession and consumption of marijuana at the school, according to the Centralia Police Department.

VEHICLE THEFT

• Chehalis police were called about 4:45 a.m. today about the theft of a vehicle from the 1000 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue.

• A blue 2005 Harley Davidson Road King was stolen around 8:45 p.m. yesterday from in front of a business at the 100 block of South Tower Avenue in Centralia. The motorcycle has a license plate reading 1E9132, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Chehalis police were called to a repair shop on the 600 block of Northwest State Avenue about 8:50 a.m. yesterday following the discovery that a TC Mopper excavator had been stolen. The business thought the owner had picked it up about a month earlier, but the owner said he did not, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

SERIAL SHOPLIFTING

• Centralia police say they caught a 25-year-old homeless man last night who allegedly stole merchandise from a store on the 500 block of South Tower Avenue on six different occasions over the previous two days. Samuel T. McQuigg was arrested for a half dozen instances of third-degree theft and booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to the Centralia Police Department.

OTHER THEFT

• Chehalis police were called to a bank on the 1400 block of South Market Boulevard just before 1 p.m. yesterday about a possible first-degree theft involving a non-sufficient funds check.

• Centralia police were called about 11:40 a.m. yesterday to a store on the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue to take a report that an unidentified female suspect stole approximately $150 from the business by convincing an employee she was to receive a refund, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Police took a report from the 500 block of Hillkress Avenue in Centralia about 9:10 a.m. yesterday regarding credit card fraud by unknown suspects.

INTERFERING WITH HEALTHCARE FACILITY

• A 37-year-old Centralia resident was arrested for third-degree malicious mischief, resisting arrest and interfering with a healthcare facility after police were called about 6:20 p.m. yesterday to the 800 block of Vienna Street. John R. Gladue III was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to the Centralia Police Department.

CAR PROWL

• Chehalis police were called just before 7:30 a.m. today for an overnight vehicle prowl at the 400 block of Northeast Adams Avenue.

• A chainsaw was stolen in a vehicle prowl at the 800 block of Marion Street in Centralia, according to a report made to police just before 3 p.m. yesterday.

DRUGS

• A 40-year-old woman was arrested yesterday afternoon after a deputy made a traffic stop at Jackson Highway and state Route 508, learned she had outstanding warrants and a search turned up a glass pipe with a small amount of a substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine, according to court documents. Amy J. Threlfall, whose court file shows a Longview address, was booked into the Lewis County Jail.

• Daniel D. Vancil, 22, of Centralia was arrested for possession of heroin after contact with police about 12:20 p.m. yesterday at the 100 block of East High Street, according to the Centralia Police Department. He was booked into the Lewis County Jail.

• A 17-year-old boy was arrested yesterday after deputies called about 11 a.m. regarding suspicious circumstances on Davis Lake Road in Morton detained him and found him to be in possession of a substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. He was booked into the Lewis County Juvenile Detention Center, according to the sheriff’s office.

VANDALISM

• Chehalis police called at 9:45 a.m. yesterday about the window of a van shattered possibly by a BB gun at the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue subsequently contacted a child who who admitted shooting at the window, according to the Chehalis Police Department. An officer spoke to the victim as well as the boy and his family, who all agreed to work it out between themselves, according to police.

• Police were called about 9:45 a.m. yesterday to the 800 block of Eshom Road in Centralia where a 15-year-old boy allegedly brought a pair of brass knuckles to school. The case is being referred to prosecutors for criminal charging, according to the Centralia Police Department.

ELECTRICITY MISSING

• Centralia police are investigating a report from about 7:10 a.m. yesterday of theft from public utilities at a vacant house on the 900 block of West Walnut Street where someone used a “jumper” to restore power.

FUEL MISSING

• An individual reported the theft of fuel from the 1300 block of North Washington Avenue in Centralia about 4 p.m. yesterday.

FANCY CHRISTMAS LIGHTS MISSING

• A Star Shower Motion Laser Light Projector was reported stolen from a front yard at the 800 block of G Street yesterday.

LOST AND FOUND

• An individual called police at 1:30 p.m. yesterday to report a vehicle stolen at the 2100 block of North National Avenue but then called back to say it was located in the parking lot.

VANDALISM

• Centralia police were called about 2:45 p.m. yesterday to the 600 block of North Pearl Street where someone had damaged Christmas lights in a front yard.

• Centralia police were called about 2:25 p.m. yesterday when an individual reported that unknown person(s) threw a soda can through a window at the 300 block of Yew Street breaking the glass.

UPDATE: ILLEGAL MARIJUANA GROWING BY CHINESE NATIONALS

• The Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office reports the operation led by the Grays Harbor County Drug Task Force yesterday after an investigation into illegal marijuana growing, primarily in areas of their county, involved 50 search warrants and resulted in 44 arrests and the seizure of 26 vehicles, multiple guns and more than $400,000 worth of cash and gold. A total of 32,449 marijuana plants were confiscated which they estimate had a value in excess of $80 million. Four of the searches were made in Thurston County, in the Lacey and Olympia areas; eight searches were conducted in King County, in Kent and Bellevue, according to Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office Chief Criminal Deputy Steve Shumate. Other search warrants were served at various locations in and around Aberdeen, Hoquiam, Ocean Shores, Cosmopolis, Montesano, Elma and McCleary.
