BURGLARY

• Centralia police were called yesterday morning to the 2000 block of Gallagher Road where someone someone broke into a shop around 2 a.m. and took two Stihl chainsaws.

• The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office is reporting this morning that a deputy answered a call last Friday to the 2100 block of Salzer Valley Road outside Centralia in which someone went beneath a house and cut out the copper pipes for the plumbing. Also missing from outbuildings were items such as a dirt bike, tools, beer signs and model cars, according to the sheriff’s office. A blue and white 1990s Ford pickup truck was seen in the area, Chief Civil Deputy Stacy Brown said. The sheriff’s office is hoping anyone who saw the truck will call 911 or Crime Stoppers.

• The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office reports this morning that someone cut locks on two cargo trailers at the 300 block of Mineral Creek Road, a burglary that was reported on Sunday morning. Among the items stolen from Mount Rainier Scenic Railroad were tools and spools of wire, according to the sheriff’s office. Someone used an electric cart to carry the items away, Chief Civil Deputy Stacy Brown said.

THEFT

• A red Habro bike was reported stolen from a fenced yard on the 800 block of North Pearl Street in Centralia yesterday. Also yesterday, a white, black and silver Air Max dirt bike-style bicycle was reported found stashed in some bushes on the 200 block of East Locust Street, according to the Centralia Police Department.

WRECKS

• The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office reports this morning a deputy arrested a 26-year-old Winlock woman for a hit and run on Sunday in which she allegedly was speeding along the 500 block of Gish Road in Onalaska and struck several unspecified objects along the side the road including a small shop. Kelsey R. Grant receive minor cuts from the incident and was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to Chief Civil Deputy Stacy Brown. There was major damage to her 2007 Chevrolet pickup, Brown said.

• The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office reports this morning a 24-year-old Centralia man was arrested for driving under the influence on Saturday evening when he flipped his Nissan pickup onto its top in the area of Cooks Hill and Lincoln Creek roads. Samuel J. Billman was bruised and booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to Chief Civil Deputy Stacy Brown.

• The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office reports this morning a deputy arrested a man on Saturday afternoon for driving under the influence after his vehicle ran into a utility pole on the 1100 block of Winlock-Vader Road. William M. Bowers, 68, of Toledo,  sustained some minor cuts and was  booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to Chief Civil Deputy Stacy Brown.

STARING CLOWN KID

• Chehalis police were called about 6:40 p.m. yesterday to the 800 block of Southwest 21st Street where woman said her husband just had a conversation with an orange-haired teenager wearing clown makeup who had been staring into their house. The woman said she would call back if the clown returned, according to police.

DETAINEE CLIMBS OUT OF PATROL CAR WINDOW

• A 21-year-old arrested yesterday for a warrant after a foot pursuit in the area of Northwest Prindle Street reportedly kicked out a back window of a patrol vehicle, climbed out and ran away again. “He was again apprehended, put back in the patrol car and then booked into jail,” Chehalis Officer Linda Bailey said. It started about 11:40 a.m. when an officer spotted a pair of men walking whom he recognized were wanted, according to Bailey. They ran, she said. Ruben A. Inman, 21, was booked for escape, warrants and malicious mischief, according to Bailey. His brother, Marcus J. Inman, 22, of Centralia, was found and arrested for warrants, Bailey said.

INDUSTRIAL WIRE THEFT

• Centralia police were called just before 8 a.m. yesterday to Lakeside Industries on the 2000 block of Johnson Road where someone had stolen copper wiring, damaging at least one piece of heavy equipment at the business, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• A deputy was called yesterday to Dulin Construction on the 3000 block of Foron Road in Centralia about another theft of wiring. One hundred-twenty-five feet of newly replaced cable was cut and then dragged off toward the railroad line and then to Foron Road, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. Also taken was 200 feet of welding lead from a shed, the sheriff’ office reported. The $3,400 loss follows a burglary involving $4,000 worth of copper wire at the rock crushing company reported on Friday and a late August burglary in which as much as  200 feet of copper wiring was taken from the main unit at the business, according to the sheriff’s office.

TIMBER TAKEN

• A 46-year-old Castle Rock resident was arrested for first-degree theft after a deputy responded to a report yesterday morning of someone running a chainsaw and dropping at least one cedar tree at the 700 block of Rhoades Road in Winlock. The timber is owned by Rhoades Vista LLC, a Kent company, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. Gerald H. Andersen was booked into the Lewis County Jail and deputies are looking for a 48-year-old Winlock man who they believe was working with Andersen, according to Chief Civil Deputy Stacy Brown.

ATV MISSING

• A 2004 Polaris ATP500 quad was reported stolen from property on the 2600 block of Foron Road in Centralia yesterday. It happened sometime since Friday evening, according to the  Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. The loss is estimated at $4,500.

DRUGS

• A 50-year-old Winlock man was arrested for a warrant then possession of methamphetamine after a traffic stop just before 10 p.m. yesterday near a gas station on the 1900 block of South Market Boulevard in Chehalis. The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office says Howard D. Eslick struggled with a deputy after refusing to step out of a vehicle and was taken into custody with help from Chehalis police. A plastic baggie of suspected methamphetamine was found during a search and field-tested positive, according to the sheriff’s office. Eslick was booked in to the Lewis County Jail.

CAR PROWL

• Chehalis police were called about 2:40 p.m. yesterday about a vehicle prowl on Northwest Chehalis Avenue.

• Someone stole a gun from a window rack in a vehicle at the 100 block of Drews Prairie Road in Toledo sometime between 9 p.m. on Sunday and 6:30 a.m. yesterday, according to the  Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

VANDALISM

• Chehalis police took a report about 11 a.m. yesterday from Northeast Washington Avenue about a bullet hole found in the living room window of a home. The victim had been away for a couple of weeks and did not know when it occurred, according to police. It appeared to have been from a BB gun, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

WRECK

• The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office reports a 53-year-old driver said he fell asleep before his 1967 Chevrolet Camaro left the roadway and struck a utility pole on the 2900 block of Harrison Avenue in Centralia yesterday. It happened about 3:20 a.m. and a deputy dispatched three hours later learned the car was totaled but the driver was uninjured, according to the sheriff’s office. A citation for second-degree negligent driving was issued, Chief Civil Deputy Stacy Brown said.

AUTO THEFT

• A 32-year-old Shelton woman who rented a vehicle on Friday from an auto rental business on the 500 block of East Summa Street in Centralia discovered that evening her car which she had left parked behind the building was stolen, according to the Centralia Police Department. She got an SUV fro  Enterprise Rent-A-Car to go shopping in Seattle and later got a phone call asking if she had picked up her car, according to police. She hadn’t. Missing is a blue 1993 Honda Civic with a license plate of 812 UID, according to police.

COPPER WIRE THEFT

• An estimated $4,000 worth of copper wire was stolen in yet another theft from a rock crushing company on the 3000 block of Foron Road in Centralia, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. A deputy called to Dulin Construction on Friday was told 40 feet of wire was missing, according to the sheriff office.

LOTS OF DIFFERENT STUFF STOLEN

• A pistol, two chainsaws, old fishing reels, a Yamaha snow sled and four studded tires with wheels for a Honda Accord were among the items stolen in a burglary on the 400 block of Schmit Road outside Toledo on Thursday, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. It happened between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. and the sheriff’s office was told an individual with a backpack on a bicycle was seen in the area around that time, Chief Civil Deputy Stacy Brown said.

MOWERS MISSING

• Three Toro brand self-propelled lawnmowers were reported stolen from a home on the 300 block of Downing Road in Centralia yesterday. They were taken sometime during the previous two week, according to the Centralia Police Department.

GARAGE THEFT

• Centralia police took a report on Saturday evening from the 600 block of Jefferson Street in Centralia about a leaf blower and a standup freezer stolen from a garage sometime during the previous week.

WHISKEY SHOPLIFTED

• Police called about 6:45 p.m. on Saturday to the 500 block of South Market Boulevard in Chehalis were told a teenage boy had just run out of the store with a bottle of whiskey. He was not found but officers will review surveillance video to see if they recognize him, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

ASSAULT RIFLE AND SKATEBOARD

• Chehalis police were called just before 3 p.m. on Saturday and told one of three three teenage boys might be carrying an AR-15-style rifle wrapped in a sweatshirt as well as a skateboard in the area of Southwest First Street and Phillips Court. The teens were not located, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

VEHICLE PROWL

• Police were called about 2:15 a.m. today to the 600 block of Jackson Street in Centralia where someone had gotten inside a pickup truck and stolen a stereo as well as part of the dashboard it was connected to. It happened sometime after 10 p.m.,  according to the Centralia Police Department.

DRUGS

• A 24-year-old Rochester woman was arrested for possession of heroin about 3:25 a.m. on Saturday at the 700 block of Harrison Avenue in Centralia. An officer who contacted Kira M. Fry because of a suspend driver’s license booked her into the Lewis County Jail,  according to the Centralia Police Department.

• A 19-year-old Chehalis resident who went to the Chehalis Police Department on Friday on an unrelated matter was arrested for delivery of a controlled substance in connection with an investigation which resulted in a search warrant for drugs earlier in the day at a home on Southwest First Street near Market Boulevard, according to police. When he was arrested, an unspecified prescription pill was found in Nicholas A. Huston’s pocket, detective Sgt. Brian Hickey said. He was booked into the Lewis County Jail.

VANDALISM

• Someone was seen leaving graffiti on a city-owned building on West Seventh and North Washington Avenue in Centralia just before 8 p.m. yesterday but fled before an officer arrived,  according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Police were called to the 1300 block of South Schueber Road in Centralia where someone spray painted orange paint in the neighborhood.

• Police were called about 9:45 a.m. on Friday to the 1500 block of Oxford Avenue in Centralia where someone left graffiti on a house for sale. Someone crossed out some old “Sur 13-type graffiti” with a message about “white power”, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Police were called at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday to the 1400 block of Johnson Road in Centralia where an individual found chocolate syrup and eggs on their door.

WRECKS

• A 20-year-old man was taken to Providence Centralia Hospital then to jail for DUI after a single-vehicle accident on the 800 block of Gish Road in Onalaska around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday. Charles E. Evans III was driving a 1983 Ford pickup which sustained major damage, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’ Office. The truck landed in a field behind a house and a 19-year-old Onalaska man  – Dylan Brossett –  who tried to block an arriving deputy from coming up the driveway was arrested also, for obstructing, according to Chief Civil Deputy Stacy Brown.

• An 18-year-old from Eatonville was uninjured and not ticketed after his 2001 Saturn left Skate Creek Road and landed about 100 feet down an embankment on Friday, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. The sheriff’s office says it does not know why the driver lost control of his vehicle.

• A 34-year-old Chehalis woman escaped with scratches on her arm when she missed a turn in downtown Chehalis, ran into a tree and put her car upside down on Friday evening. It happened about 7:15 p.m. near Sterling Savings Bank on North Market Boulevard, according to police. The Buick Skylark suffered damage to its front, top and both sides, according to the Chehalis Police Department.
