‘I SAW WHAT YOU DID’

• Police were called to the 100 block of High Street in Centralia about 3:30 p.m. yesterday for a hit and run to a parked vehicle. The incident was witnessed by another individual who left a note describing the running vehicle, according to the Centralia Police Department. The suspect car is described as a dark blue or black Dodge Challenger with a Washington license plate reading AVJ 5681, according to police.

AUTO THEFT

• Centralia police were called about 7:20 p.m. yesterday about a red 1994 Mazda pickup truck stolen from the 100 block of South Tower Avenue. The license plate reads C25615C, according to the Centralia Police Department.

CAR PROWL

• Centralia police were called at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday regarding a vehicle prowl at the 1900 block of North Pearl Street. Taken was a tool box, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Tools and some paperwork were stolen in a vehicle prowl at the 1000 block of Belmont Avenue in Centralia, according to a report made to police about 12:45 p.m. on Thursday.

MORE THEFT

• Police were called about 10:30 a.m. on Thursday to the 1400 block of Johnson Road where packages that reportedly were delivered two days earlier were missing.

• Police were called about 2 p.m. yesterday to the 1300 block of Alexander Street regarding a wallet stolen from inside the facility.

ANIMAL INJURY

• Centralia police were called just after 7 a.m. yesterday to Warsaw Street and Delaware Avenue where a dog returned home injured, with heavy bleeding from its chest. The owner could not afford to take the dog to the vet so it is not known what the injury was or how it happened, according to the Centralia Police Department.

ON THE ROAD

• Police arrested a 25-year-old motorist for driving under the influence after a three-vehicle, non-injury collision at the 500 block of Woodland Avenue in Centralia at about 3:30 a.m. yesterday. Roberto C. Montes Reyes was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Police were called about 3:30 p.m. on Thursday to a two-vehicle minor injury collision at Reynolds Avenue and Industrial Drive in Centralia, in which one of the vehicles continued on. The running vehicle was described as white and possibly a Chevrolet Suburban, which would have front end damage, according to the Centralia Police Department. About an hour later, a suspect was found during a traffic stop near Johnson Road, according to police. Servero Hernandez Cirilo 28 of Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for driving under the influence and also for hit and run, according to police.

FEDS COME TO WINLOCK, ARREST RESIDENT

• A 30-year-old Winlock man was arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation for allegedly using a social media application to trade images of child pornography. Officers accompanied by members of the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office were at the residence on the 2700 block of Highway 603 on Tuesday and subsequently booked Donald L. Schnacker into the Lewis County Jail, according to authorities. Lewis County prosecutors yesterday filed two charges, of both possessing and dealing in depictions of minors engaged in sexual conduct.  Prosecutor Jonathan Meyer said a tip first came into the FBI office in Little Rock and investigators found evidence Schnacker used his phone and the Kik messenger app to access wireless internet from the library. Schnacker’s arraignment was scheduled for today.

PENNIES FOUND ON SUSPECTED CAR PROWLER

• Chehalis police were called about 4 o’clock this morning after an individual on Southwest Seventh Street near Market Boulevard observed the dome light on in their vehicle. An officer arriving to the area spotted a person by a fence, motioned them to come back, and subsequently found numerous items on their person, according to the Chehalis Police Department. Talen C.A. Maddux was arrested for second-degree vehicle prowl, according to police. The items included pennies, a breath mint, a fishing bob, lighters, pencils, pens and a glove, police said. Maddux was booked into the Lewis County Jail.

CAMERA TAKEN IN CAR PROWL

• Centralia police were called just after noon yesterday about a vehicle prowl at the 200 block of Tacoma Avenue. A camera was taken, according to the Centralia Police Department.

THEFT OF GASOLINE

• Chehalis police were called yesterday by a business on the 2500 block of Northeast Kresky Avenue that discovered via surveillance images someone had siphoned fuel from their vehicles during the night. The loss is listed as $30, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

FRAUD CENTRALIA

• Police were called about 2:20 p.m. yesterday by a victim who they discovered a person they know used the victim’s personal information to obtain utilities in the Spokane area and then didn’t pay the bill. The case associated with an address on Alder Street is under investigation, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Centralia police were contacted yesterday afternoon to take a report of fraud in which an estranged husband allegedly accessed his wife’s account, in a case associated with a credit union on the 1300 block of South Gold Street. The case is under investigation, according to the Centralia Police Department.

ATTEMPTED FRAUD CHEHALIS

• Chehalis police took a report yesterday from a resident who reported he was selling  wood stove on on Craigslist over the Internet and was contacted by an individual supposedly in Texas who sent him a check for more than the agreed upon price and wanted him to cash it at a New York bank. The Chehalis resident thought it was suspicious and didn’t follow through, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

TEEN BOOKED FOR ASSAULT

• A 17-year-old girl who allegedly kicked an officer while being picked up on an outstanding warrant was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Juvenile Detention Center yesterday for third-degree assault. The incident at approximately 3:20 p.m. occurred at the 800 block of West Main Street in Centralia, according to the Centralia Police Department.

DRUGS

• Centralia police are recommending a criminal charge of possession of methamphetamine in connection with an arrest for shoplifting made about 8 p.m. yesterday at the 500 block of South Tower Avenue. Jason W. Dix, 41, of Centralia, was issued a citation and then released, according to the Centralia Police Department.

ON THE ROAD

• An Oakville woman was injured last night when her car hit water, skidded off a highway and landed on its roof in McCleary. Troopers called just after 10 p.m. to eastbound state Route 8 report that Angela L. Wickstrom, 46, was transported to Providence St. Peter Hospital. Her Subaru station wagon was damaged, towed and impounded, according to the Washington State Patrol. Wickstrom was to be cited for driving too fast for conditions, according to the state patrol.

FAILED INTRUSION ATTEMPT

• Police responding to an approximately 7 a.m. call yesterday that someone was trying to break in to a home on the 600 block of South Pearl Street in Centralia detained a 20-year-old man. The resident was home, heard banging at the back door and when he looked through the curtains, saw a stranger trying to hit the door with his shoulder, according to the Centralia Police Department. Joseph L. McCarthy was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for attempted residential burglary, according to police. However, prosecutors declined to file charges and he was to be released.

DOMESTIC DISPUTE

• A woman who returned to her estranged husband’s Centralia apartment, allegedly threw things around and punched him the head was arrested for first-degree burglary yesterday. Officers responding to the approximately 3:15 p.m. call to the 600 block of North Pearl Street booked 54-year-old Kathy A. Kirby into the Lewis County Jail, according to the Centralia Police Department.

VEHICLE PROWL

• Chehalis police were called yesterday morning by a woman who said  her purse was stolen from her car the previous day at the Safeway parking lot. She said she walked her shopping cart back into the store so employees wouldn’t have to, and during that time her purse disappeared, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

UNCONFIRMED KIDNAPPING

• Chehalis police were called about 8:30 p.m. yesterday by a man who said he’d been abducted from the parking lot at Wal-Mart in October and held captive until yesterday. He appeared to be in normal health and didn’t want the officer to follow up by attempting to locate security videos and declined to take a polygraph, according to the Chehalis Police Department. A report was taken for informational purposes, as nothing was found to support his description of the events that included having been tied up, and taken to Oregon, but eventually able to drive home, according to police.

ON THE ROAD

• Centralia police arrested a 33-year-old woman for driving under the influence after she reportedly drove the wrong direction on a one-way street and collided head-on with another vehicle last night. It happened about 8:30 p.m. in front of the fire station on the 500 block of North Pearl Street, according to the Centralia Police Department. The other driver was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and Tayra F. Hall, of Yelm, was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to police.

• A 23-year-old Chehalis resident pulled over just before 8 p.m. yesterday at the 800 block of West Main Street in Chehalis after a deputy observed him driving in an erratic manner was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence of marijuana. According to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office, the deputy noted a strong odor of burned marijuana and field sobriety test results were consistent with marijuana use. Pedro L. Boites was taken into custody, taken to Providence Centralia Hospital for a blood test and then booked into the Lewis County Jail, Chief Deputy Stacy Brown said.
