ON THE ROAD, OFF THE ROAD

• A motorcyclist was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle on Sunday after an 80-year-old driver of a pickup truck attempted to cross U.S. Highway 12 in Salkum and the two collided, according to the Washington State Patrol. Warren J. Peterson, 59, of Olympia, was traveling westbound on the highway on a Honda GL1800 motorcycle when the 2000 Ford Ranger pickup crossed south from Salkum Road to Fuller Road, according to the state patrol. Troopers called to the scene at about 5:30 p.m. found the motorcycle hit the driver’s side door. The pickup driver, Wayne A. Dykeman, 80, of Winlock, was reportedly unhurt but was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

• A 45-year-old Centralia woman was arrested for first-degree assault after police were called to the 2300 block of Eureka Avenue in Centralia regarding an altercation between the woman and her husband about 11:15 p.m. on Sunday. Christine M. Schiele was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to the Centralia Police Department.

DISORDERLY

• A 26-year-old was cited for interfering with a health care facility after police were called about 1:20 a.m. today to the 900 block of South Scheuber Road because the woman was allegedly causing a disruption, screaming and would not leave when asked to, according to the Centralia Police Department. Jennifer D. Turnbull, of Centralia, was arrested and then released, according to police.

HOUSE VANDALIZED

• A Centralia resident returning home from vacation discovered four windows, including a sliding glass door, at the rear of the home had been broken as well as garden hose turned on and left running, causing some damage, according to the Centralia Police Department. Officers called to the 1000 block of Crosby Avenue about 11:15 a.m. on Sunday have not made any arrests as of this morning.
