AUTO THEFT
• Police were called at 5:21 a.m. today about a car stolen from in front of a house on the 1600 block of North Pearl Street. The owner had left the gold 2002 Audi A6 Quattro running to warm it up, according to the Centralia Police Department. The car has has blue LED lights in the grill that are always illuminated and a license plate that reads AOP 0647, according to the Centralia Police Department.
• Centralia police were called just before 8 p.m. yesterday about a white 1997 Ford Explorer getting stolen from the 100 block of South Tower Avenue. The owner had asked the suspect to drive him somewhere, but the suspect took off while the owner was outside the vehicle, according to the Centralia Police Department. The vehicle did not have license plates but had a temporary registration taped to the back window, according to police.
• Chehalis police were called about 4:50 p.m. yesterday to the 2500 block of Kresky Avenue where a car had been parked for a couple of days and found it had been stolen from Raymond. It was missing its front license plate and the steering column was damaged, according to the Chehalis Police Department.
• Chehalis police came across a stolen vehicle about 9:30 p.m. on Saturday at Southwest 16th Street and Thomsen Avenue and learned the 20-year-old man who said it belonged to him had a title and a bill of sale. He said he purchased the pickup truck from an individual in Monroe in September, but it turned out it had been stolen in Marysville from its actual owner, according to the Chehalis Police Department. The Toyota Tacoma truck was impounded so it could be returned, according to police.
• Two people were arrested about 4 p.m. on Friday for possession of a stolen vehicle after a 2017 Chevrolet Cruise belonging to an Olympia business was located via its OnStar system at the 1600 block of South Scheuber Avenue in Centralia. Burton C.B. Brown, 51, of Centralia, and Courtney R. Blurton, 29, from Chehalis, said they’d gotten the car earlier in the day from someone at Wal-Mart, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. Both had outstanding warrants and were booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to the sheriff’s office. Prosecutors declined to file the felony charges today.
• Centralia police were called about 9:40 a.m. on Saturday to the 1900 block of Honeysuckle Lane where a man’s car had been stolen during the night. The Saturn was found later in Thurston County, according to the Centralia Police Department. The victim suspected his roommate had taken it and allegedly broke into the roommate’s room, took his belongings out and damaged them, according to police. When police were called back to Jason T. Atchley,’s home about 3:40 p.m., they arrested the 41-year-old and booked him into the Lewis County Jail, according to Sgt. Dave Clary.
BURGLARY CENTRALIA
• Centralia police were called just before 6 p.m. on Saturday to the 200 block of West Hanson Street where an individual reported someone had forced open a door and left with collectible coins. The victim was in the process of moving, according to the Centralia Police Department.
• Police were called on Saturday morning to the 1300 block of West Main Street in Centralia where sometime during the previous week someone broke into the home and stole construction tools.
• Centralia police were called just after 3 p.m. on Friday for a burglary to a garage at the 700 block of South Pearl Street. A television was taken,according to the Centralia Police Department.
CAR PROWL
• Centralia police were called about 1:15 p.m. on Saturday to the 100 block of Jayln Street where two electric grease guns had been stolen out of a vehicle.
• Chehalis police were called to the Lewis County Mail about 7:40 a.m. on Saturday following the discovery someone had trashed the inside of a vehicle and stole a backpack containing a wallet and laptop computer. The stereo was torn out as well, according to the Chehalis Police Department. its owner had parked it only 45 minutes earlier, according to police.
• Three cars and a travel trailer were broken into at the 1300 block of Eckerson Road in Centralia, according to a report made to Centralia police about 6:30 a.m. on Saturday. Survival items and vehicle registrations were stolen, according to the Centralia Police Department.
OTHER CRIMES
• A 33-year-old Hoquiam man was arrested for second-degree robbery after allegedly threatening to use force against security personnel who contacted him about consuming “items” in a store at the 500 block of South Tower Avenue in Centralia without paying on Saturday night. Police called at 10 p.m. were told the individual had fled but he was located later that night across town causing more issues and was detained, according to the Centralia Police Department. A search incident to his arrest arrest revealed Robert O. Bray had in his possession property stolen in a recent vehicle prowl in Chehalis, according to police. He was booked into the Lewis County Jail also for second-degree possession of stolen property and an outstanding warrant, according to police.
• Chehalis police were called about 8:25 p.m. on Saturday to Green Hill School where a 16-year-old student-inmate allegedly had thrown playing cards at a staff member. The case is being forwarded to prosecutors for a possible charge of third-degree assault, according to the Chehalis Police Department.
FRAUD
• Centralia police were contacted on Saturday by an individual at the 300 block of Denny Way to take a report someone else had opened a bank account in their name
• Centralia police were called on Saturday morning by a person at the 400 block of Downing Road about a credit card discovered to have been fraudulently used on the Internet.
DRUGS
• A 20-year-old Chehalis resident was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and an outstanding warrant when contacted by police at the 100 block of Eckerson Road in Centralia just before 3 a.m. yesterday. David W. Grace was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to the Centralia Police Department.
• A 32-year-old inmate at the Lewis County Jail was arrested for a new offense on Friday of possession of a controlled substance. A deputy arriving to the facility about 9:50 p.m. was told by Melissa A. McAllister she had forgotten she had it when she was first booked in to the jail, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. The suspected heroin was retrieved from the Centralia woman’s housing area, according to the sheriff’s office.
• A 23-year-old Rochester woman was arrested for possession of methamphetamine when police picked her up on a warrant about 9:30 a.m. on Friday at the 500 block of Southwest Pacific Avenue in Chehalis. Kyrstin R. Daarud was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to the Chehalis Police Department.
VANDALISM
• Centralia police were called to the 2000 block of Cooks Hill Road about 1:25 p.m. yesterday where at least one mailbox was damaged, possibly by a baseball bat.
ON THE ROAD, OFF THE ROAD
• A 53-year-old Onalaska woman was transported to Providence Centralia Hospital yesterday to be checked out following a rollover accident about 6:45 p.m. at the 900 block of Brown Road West in rural Chehalis. She couldn’t recall what had occurred to cause her to wreck her Jeep Grand Cherokee, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. The vehicle was described as totaled.
• Two vehicles sustained major damage when they collided on Friday afternoon at Jackson Highway at Zandecki Road south of Chehalis. Both were southbound and the 48-year-old Toledo woman went to pass the 36-year-old Chehalis man as he attempted to turn left, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. A deputy responding just after 4 p.m. found that her Chevrolet 3500 T-boned his Nissan Frontier, shoving it into a ditch – causing it to roll – and coming to rest on top of it, according to the sheriff’s office. The woman said he had his right blinker on; he said he had his left blinker on, Chief Deputy Dusty Breen said. Breen did not say if anyone was injured, but noted no citations have been issued at this time.
