ALLEGED ANIMAL ABUSE

• A 36-year-old Napavine woman who told police she raised Llamas to feed to her dogs is under investigation for animal cruelty. Elizabeth A. Moir was arrested and jailed last week after a search warrant served on her property turned up two Llama carcasses and an approximately 4-year-old Llama was seized, according to Napavine Police Department Officer-in-charge Silas Elwood. “It was basically a lack of shelter and malnourishment,” Elwood said. It’s not illegal to slaughter them, but even animals destined for food have to be taken care of, Elwood said. The lone female animal was thin, he said. Elwood said he has been getting complaints and working with Moir since last spring. She got the problems corrected, he said, but then he got evidence they weren’t being fed, he went to the property on the 600 block of Forest Napavine Road West again last Tuesday, he said. The living Llama was cold and suffering, he said, standing in mud with no place to get out of the snow. A veterinarian examined it, and it is being taken care of by Pasado’s Safe Haven in Sultan, an animal welfare group, he said. Elwood arrested Moir the following day for first-degree animal cruelty, he said. There were four “happy, healthy, Labrador dogs there, he said. Moir was released from jail pending further investigation. The Lewis County Prosecutors Office said today they are waiting for further information and expect to file charges by the end of the week.

TEEN ARRESTED FOR SENDING NAUGHTY PICTURES, OF HERSELF

• Chehalis police arrested a 15-year-old girl yesterday in Chehalis for sharing pornographic pictures of herself on Facebook and by sending them through her telephone. The offense is a class “C” felony and related to the prohibition against possessing or dealing in depictions of minors engaged in sex acts, according to Sgt. Gary Wilson. Since the girl is a minor, even her sharing a picture of herself is a violation, according to Wilson. She’s was a runaway and her parent found the photos, according to Wilson.

BOISTFORT AREA SUSPECTED THIEF HID OUT OVER WEEKEND

• John Lucky Knight, 26, was booked into the Lewis County Jail yesterday for burglary, unlawful possession of a firearm and warrants after he was tracked to a residence at 600 block of Boistfort Road. He said he had been camping and hiding out over the weekend in the area, following Friday afternoon’s confrontation with law enforcement on the 1900 block of Pe Ell-McDonald Road, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies followed calls yesterday that a suspicious male had been seen on the 100 block of Lost Valley Road, at the Curtis Store and hiding in the woods along Boistfort Road, according to  Chief Civil Deputy Stacy Brown. A deputy spotted him through a window of a residence, sitting at a table talking to a guy, Brown said. Brown said his driver’s license lists him as living in Tulalip, but his last known residence was in Kelso. His felony and misdemeanor warrants are out of California, Brown said.

THEFT

• Centralia police took a report yesterday afternoon of a burglary at the 200 block of Northup Street in Centralia in which hunting equipment was stolen.

• Centralia police reported today they are investigating a burglary reported on Saturday at a house on the 1300 block of Rhobina Street.

• Copper piping and cleaning supplies were among the items missing when police responded to a burglary of an empty house on the 1000 block of South Pearl Street in Centralia, according to the Centralia Police Department. It happened sometime before about 1 p.m. on Saturday, according to police.

• A stolen car was recovered yesterday morning – without its tires, wheels or stereo – on the 100 block of Telegraph Road in Vader. The 1999 Honda Civic belonged to a 20-year-old Vancouver woman and was impounded, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

• A security camera was reported stolen from the 100 block of South Tower Avenue in Centralia yesterday.

• Checks were reported stolen from a mailbox on the 3700 block of Northpark Drive in Centralia yesterday.

• Centralia police reported today they responded to a car prowl on Saturday morning at the 500 block of Richmond Avenue. A stereo was taken, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Centralia police were called just after 4 p.m. yesterday to the 500 block of Hamilton Avenue about someone stealing gas from a vehicle and attempting to break in.

DRUGS

• Centralia police reported today they arrested a 54-year-old Centralia resident early Sunday morning for possession of heroin at West Cherry and South King streets. Glen W. Cayce was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Centralia police reported today they arrested a 39-year-old Centralia resident early Sunday morning for possession of methamphetamine and a warrant. It happened on the 700 block of Harrison Avenue just before 1 a.m., according to police. An officer reported that  a baggie containing suspected meth was found on Justus J. Kohlenberg and Kohlenberg had tossed another to the ground.

WRECK

• A deputy was called just before 11:30 a.m. yesterday to the 3000 block of Jackson Highway in Chehalis after a parked truck crossed the road without a driver and ended up nose-first in a ditch. No injuries were reported. The driver of the Chehalis city public works vehicle said they thought it was left in neutral or drive when they went into a pump station building, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. The damage to the 2008 Chevrolet pickup was minor, Chief Civil Deputy Stacy Brown said.

POLICE TAKE MUSHROOM BROWNIES FOR TESTING

• Centralia police confiscated some brownies reportedly baked up with Psilocybin mushrooms from an apartment of the 400 block of Ash Street last night and arrested two individuals there. An officer visited the home just before 11 p.m. following up on a tip, according to the Centralia Police Department. Herbert D. Blanksma, 30, willingly handed over to the officer a small amount of marijuana he had in his pocket and allowed the officer to come inside, admitting the baked goods on the table contained the hallucinogenic mushrooms, according to Officer John Panco. He and Keziah L. Lawrence, 31, were both arrested for possession of the drug, but were not booked into jail, Panco said. The brownies will be sent off for testing, Panco said.

FIREARMS STOLEN FROM BOISTFORT AREA HOME

• The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office is looking for information about a man with a rifle who escaped law enforcement on Friday following a burglary near Boistfort. A 57-year-old man from Olympia said he was clearing trees on his property on the 1900 block of Pe Ell-McDonald Road around 2 p.m. when he heard gunshots and observed a stranger coming out of his motor home carrying a rifle, according to the sheriff’s office. When police from Winlock and Pe Ell arrived, a man described as in his 20s wearing dark clothing turned toward them in such as way as to force them to take cover, Chief Civil Deputy Stacy Brown said. The man ran, the SWAT team was deployed, but he was not found, according to Brown. Among the items stolen from a nearby home were a rifle, a shotgun and a handgun, according to Brown. All except the handgun were discovered inside the motor home, she said. Update 2:20 p.m.: The sheriff’s office said their suspect was taken into custody a few minutes ago in the 600 block of Boistfort Road.

ARRESTS FOLLOW FAMILY DISPUTE

• A 74-year-old Centralia woman was arrested and jailed for misdemeanor assault after she allegedly grabbed the wrist of a 23-year-old woman during a dispute at their home on the 1900 block of North Pearl Street on Thursday afternoon, according to the Centralia Police Department. Barbara A. Agnew was booked for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, according to police. Another resident, Dawson E. Evans, 21, was arrested at the same time for allegedly trying to pull the phone cord out of the wall when someone was attempting to call 911. Evans was booked for interfering with with a 911 call as well as for warrants, Officer John Panco said.

THEFT

• Police were called about 5:45 p.m. on Saturday to Wal-Mart in Chehalis where an suspected shoplifter reportedly took swings at two security personnel who tried to detain him. Jesse A. Ashton was arrested and booked for second-degree robbery, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

• Police were called to the 300 block of Southwest 15th Street in Chehalis on Thursday afternoon when a resident returned home and discovered a burglary. Someone apparently got inside through an unlocked sliding door and took a laptop computer and other items, according to Chehalis Police.

• Police were called about 2:30 a.m. on Saturday to the 800 block of North Pearl Street in Centralia following a discovery a television was missing shortly after a friend of the victim’s son left.

• A 65-year-old Randle resident called the sheriff’s office on Friday after he bought a car that turned out to be stolen. A 37-year-old woman is under investigation for selling the 2003 Oldsmobile Olero when it did not belong to her, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

• A 1987 Honda ATV was stolen from a carport on the 200 block of Savio Road near Randle sometime last week, according to a report made on Friday, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. The TRX250 four-wheeler is valued at $1,000, according to the sheriff’s office.

• Someone stole several four-foot tall stone statues from outside the 100 block of South Washington Avenue in Centralia, according to police. A report made early Friday morning described one of them as a woman pouring water from a pitcher and another of a girl carrying a basket, according to officer John Panco.

VEHICLE PROWLS

• A deputy took a report on Saturday about a car prowl on the 4800 block of U.S. Highway 12 in which a purse was taken at the dam fishing area. The victim said she, her boyfriend and two children were fishing and the door to be the vehicle had been left unlocked, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

• Police were called about 2:20 a.m. on Saturday to a vehicle prowl at the 1300 block of Belmont Avenue in Centralia. Several “truck box speakers” were stolen, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Police were called about 2:45 p.m. on Friday to the 1500 block of Harrison Avenue about a vehicle being broken into. Nothing seemed to be missing, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• A GPS device and a “computer chip” were stolen from a vehicle on the 100 block of Panorama Drive in Chehalis, according to a report made to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office on Friday. It had occurred during the night,

• Police took a report of a car prowl from the 700 block of South Gold Street in Centralia on Thursday morning.

DRUGS

• A 21-year-old Centralia woman was arrested and jailed for unlawful possession of a prescription pill after she was detained for alleged shoplifting of various cosmetics on Wednesday afternoon at Wal-Mart, according to Chehalis police. Nicole L. Harmon was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to Sgt. Gary Wilson.

UNLAWFUL FIREARM POSSESSION

• A 58-year-old Randle man was arrested and jailed last night following a traffic stop in Randle in which a deputy observed a revolver in an arm band on one of Williams’ biceps. Larry D. Williams was booked for unlawful possession of a firearm because he is not allowed to possess guns, Chief Civil Deputy Stacy Brown said.

COLLISIONS

• A 29-year-old man on a bicycle sustained minor injuries when a vehicle pulled out and the two collided on West Main and North Cedar streets in Centralia on Friday morning, according to police.

• A 21-year-old woman possibly broke her ribs when the car she was driving slid off the road and rolled on Saturday night on the 600 block of Wildwood Road in Curtis, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. An adult passenger sustained cuts to his hand and an infant passenger was reportedly uninjured, according to  Chief Civil Deputy Stacy Brown. The Toyota Camry had slid on gravel laid down for slick conditions and sustained major damage, Brown said.

DRUGS

• The case of three teenagers at Centralia High School was referred for possible charges of possession of marijuana after a school resource officer contacted the boys in a vehicle in the school parking lot during class, according to officer John Panco. Panco said the officer found some marijuana in a baggie in the vehicle about 10:15 a.m. yesterday.

• A 45-year-old Yakima woman was arrested for possession of methamphetamine on the 1300 block of Harrison Avenue in Centralia about 1:30 a.m. today. Sarah F. Hansen, was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• A deputy found two baggies of suspected methamphetamine when they arrested a 28-year-old Centralia woman yesterday for an outstanding warrant. It happened about 12:30 p.m. at the 100 block of Centralia-Alpha Road. Jennifer A. Juarez was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

THEFT

• Police were called just before 10 a.m. yesterday to 200 block of West Main Street in Chehalis where someone had stolen a U-Haul trailer from Grants Towing sometime over the weekend, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

• Police were called yesterday evening to the 1100 block of G Street in Centralia about a security camera taken from the outside of a residence.

CAT SHOT DEAD IN CENTRALIA

• Centralia police took a report of an individual who shot and killed a cat with a pellet gun in the Ham Hill area on Monday. Officer John Panco said he was not at liberty to say who or discuss any details because the individual has not been arrested. The case was sent to the city’s attorney to determine if any charges will be filed, according to Panco.

POLICE: DAD BREAKS BABY’S LEG

• A 20-year-old Centralia father was arrested after his 5-month-old baby girl was treated yesterday morning at the emergency room for a broken leg. Centralia police called to Providence Centralia Hospital said Lincoln K. Hollis admitted “probably he was a little too aggressive when changing the baby’s diaper,” officer John Panco said. Hollis had brought the baby to the hospital, according to Panco. The child was transferred to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital and Hollis was booked into the Lewis County Jail for second-degree assault of a child, Panco said.

THEFT OF WIRING

• Someone broke into a fenced compound over the weekend at the 3000 block of Foron Road in Centralia and stole more then 400 feet of electrical wire and welding cable, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. A deputy called yesterday morning to Dulin Construction was told someone cut a padlock to the front gate and also used a sledge hammer to try to get money from a pop machine, according to Chief Civil Deputy Stacy Brown. The loss is estimated at more than $2,400, Brown said.

VANDALISM

• Police arrested a 19-year-old Centralia woman for allegedly slashing a tire on her ex-boyfriend’s vehicle on the 1000 block of South Pearl Street in Centralia last night. Malyse Bussanich said she was angry, Officer John Panco said. She was cited for third-degree malicious mischief and then released, according to the Centralia Police Department.

DRUGS

• A 43-year-old woman who reportedly tried to leave Safeway in Centralia with more than $100 of unpaid for merchandise last night was arrested for shoplifting and subsequently for possession of heroin, according to the Centralia Police Department. Rebecca S. Rycraft, of Olympia, was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to police. How much of the drug found wasn’t noted in a police report, according to Officer John Panco.

WRECK

• The driver of a pickup truck was taken to Providence Centralia Hospital for evaluation after a collision with a semi-truck on U.S. Highway 12 in Ethel yesterday morning. It happened near Oyler Road about 8 a.m., according to the Washington State Patrol. One of the big rig’s fuel tanks fell off and spilled roughly 20 gallons of fuel, according to state patrol Sgt. Lucas Brandon.

Tenino man still not found

• The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office conducted a “thorough search” on Friday of the Tenino-area home and property belonging to 66-year-old Victor Shumate, missing since mid-January. He was not found, according to sheriff’s Sgt. Ray Brady. Shumate has a home on the 17000 block of Mima Acres Drive Southeast and gets around by foot and bicycle. The sheriff’s office last week asked the public for information on his whereabouts, as his neighbors have not seen him since Jan. 13.

CENTRALIA MAN WAKES UP TO PROWLER IN HOME

• Deputies were called just after 1 o’clock this morning to a home in north Centralia where a resident awoke to someone sneaking into his house. The 27-year-old man at the 100 block of Sawall Avenue said he heard the back sliding door open and heard a couple of footsteps inside before they left, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. A deputy checked the area finding only foot prints in the snow, Chief Civil Deputy Stacy Brown said.

SHED BURGLED IN CHEHALIS

• A deputy was called on Saturday morning to a burglary of a storage shed on the 100 block of Snow Peak Lane in Chehalis. Among the items taken sometime since the previous Monday morning were a Honda generator, power tools and two 100-foot extension cords, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

PT CRUISER STOLEN

• Chehalis police were called about 10 a.m. on Saturday to Southwest 10th Street near Main Street where a gray 2002 PT Crusier had been stolen overnight.

PARTS TAKEN FROM VEHICLES

• A deputy was called to the 1600 block of Rice Road outside Chehalis on Friday where someone had been stealing parts from cars. The resident, an 80-year-old man, said he thought it had occurred over the previous month, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. Missing from his 1970s vehicles are an alternator, a a radiator,two carburetors, two valve covers, two batteries and an air cleaner, according to Chief Civil Deputy Stacy Brown.

ATTEMPTED BREAK-IN AT TAVERN

• A deputy was called Saturday morning to an attempted break-in to the Headquarters Tavern on Front Street in Mineral. An employee had been called by the alarm company about 2:15 a.m., according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. Window trim and an air conditioner unit were damaged, Chief Civil Deputy Stacy Brown said. Nothing appeared to be stolen taken but surveillance video will be reviewed, Chief Civil Deputy Stacy Brown said.

TAXI DRIVER RIPPED OFF

• Police were called about 6 p.m. yesterday to the 1500 block of Delaware Street in Centralia when a passenger fled a taxi cab without paying his $5 fare, according to the Centralia Police Department.

DRUGS AT SCHOOL

• A deputy was called Friday morning to Onalaska High School where a 16-year-old student allegedly took his father’s medical marijuana and tried to sell it at school, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. The incident is under investigation.

RIFLE IN TRUCK GETS DRIVER ARRESTED

• A 35-year-old Centralia man was arrested following a traffic stop yesterday evening on the 1200 block of Mellen Street in which an officer observed a rifle in the cab of the truck next to the driver, according to the Centralia Police Department. Daniel L. Haubrick is currently not supposed to possess firearms because of a protection order naming him, according to officer John Panco. Haubrick was booked into the Lewis County Jail.

VANDALISM

• Chehalis police were called late Saturday afternoon to Southeast Third Street and Washington Avenue where someone had thrown a rock into the windshield of a car.

POLICE: MAN MADE UP REPORT OF WOMAN’S THROAT CUT

• Aid and police called to a Centralia apartment early this morning to a report a woman had cut her throat from “ear to ear” found no victim, but arrested a man for making a false report. It happened about 4:20 a.m. at the 600 block of West First Street, according to Centralia police. Arriving officers spoke to the caller and he refused to give them more information, according to police Sgt. Carl Buster. A check inside the apartment turned up an individual who was fine, Buster said. The caller, Brian K. Wilson, 32, of Yelm, reportedly refused to cooperate, became combative and was detained after a Taser was deployed, according to Buster. Wilson was booked into the Lewis County Jail.

STOLEN VAN TURNS UP

• Centralia police were called about noon yesterday about a “suspicious” van found on the 1500 block of Windsor Avenue in Centralia. It was a van that had been stolen the day before, according to the Centralia Police Department.

THEFT OF PURSES

• A purse left in a shopping cart yesterday at the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue in Centralia was reported stolen.

• Police were called yesterday morning about a purse stolen the night before while its owner was at a tavern at the 100 block on South Tower Avenue in Centralia.

CRASH KNOCKS OUT TELEPHONE POLE

• Firefighters were called about 10:20 a.m. today to a single-vehicle accident south of Vader where a pickup truck rolled and took out a utility pole. It happened on the 100 block of West Side Highway, about a half mile south of state Route 506, according to Lewis County Medic One Paramedic Clayton Skinner. The lone occupant, a woman, was extricated and transported to Providence Centralia Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to Skinner.

VEHICLE THEFT

• A pickup truck stolen overnight from the 900 block of North Tower Avenue in Centralia turned up in Chehalis, where two people bailed out and fled when spotted by police, according to the Centralia Police Department. A police dog attempted a track, but the subjects managed to slip away from officers, according to police. The Chevrolet S-10 pickup was returned to its owner.

• Police were called to the 100 block of South Pleasant Avenue in Centralia about 11:50 p.m. yesterday about a stolen vehicle. Missing is a green Windstar van, according to the Centralia Police Department.

THE PARTY’S OVER

• Centralia police broke up an underage drinking party last night on the 2800 block of Russell Road. Minta A. Harrington, 38, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for four counts of furnishing liquor to minors, according to the Centralia Police Department.
