GUN SCARE

• Deputies called about a person threatening people with a firearm at a trailer park in the 100 block of Cowlitz Loop Road in Toledo about 8:40 p.m. on Friday arrested a 48-year-old man for felony harassment. Paul A. Komara, a tenant, was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. The case is also being referred for fourth-degree assault as Komara allegedly shoved one of the park managers, according to the sheriff’s office.

MOTEL ROOM SCARE

• Centralia police were called to the 200 block of Centralia College Boulevard about 7:40 p.m. on Friday where a 36-year-old woman was found passed out in someone else’s hotel room and allegedly assaulted the occupants of the room when they told her to leave. Rachel J. Rider, a homeless person, allegedly gave a false name to officers, according to the Centralia Police Department. She was booked into the Lewis County Jail for first-degree trespassing, obstructing a law enforcement officer and two counts of fourth-degree assault, according to police.

BURGLARY

• Chehalis police were called about 6 p.m. yesterday to take a report of a break-in to an unlocked  garage on the 500 block of Northwest Quincy Place. Missing was a Stihl leaf blower, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

• An estimated $1,200 worth of tools and other items were discovered missing yesterday afternoon from a detached garage on the 200 block of Woodard Road in Chehalis, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

• A pressure washer and various tools were stolen in a burglary to a storage shed at the 1500 block of Lewis Street in Centralia, according to a report made to police about 9:40 a.m. on Friday. The suspect or suspects also attempted to break into the coin reservoir of a coin-operated clothes dryer, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• A 35-year-old Chehalis resident was arrested for second-degree burglary after Chehalis police were called about 8 a.m. on Friday to the 1100 block of Southwest Cascade Avenue about about an unauthorized person entering a laundry room and allegedly damaging a washing machine and a lock. Michael P. Doven was was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

OTHER THEFT

• Chehalis police assisted the Napavine Police Department by retrieving a jacket which had been stolen, with a significant amount of money in it, on Saturday, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

• Chehalis police were called to  the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue about 4:40 p.m. on Friday to take a report of the theft of merchandise totaled approximately $3,596 two days earlier. Taken were two computer towers and a monitor, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

• Police were called to the 1300 block of Alexander Street in Centralia about 3:15 p.m. on Friday to take a report that cash was stolen from a resident’s drawer.

• Chehalis police were called about 2:20 p.m. on Friday by an individual who said she believed someone took her wallet from her purse while she was shopping at the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue.

• Centralia police were called to take a report of the theft of aluminum wheels from the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue at about 1:30 p.m. on Friday.

CAR PROWL

• A 32-year-old Centralia woman was arrested after a call about 2:50 p.m. yesterday regarding a vehicle prowl at the 2500 block of Eureka Avenue in Centralia. Kendra J. Chancey was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• A Stihl chainsaw was reported stolen out of the back of a pickup truck at the 500 block of North Tower Avenue in Centralia, according to a report made to police about 11:25 a.m. on Saturday.

• Tools and a tool box were reported stolen from a vehicle at the 600 block of West Main Street in Centralia, according to a report made to police about 2 p.m. on Friday.

• Sometime between 8 p.m. on Thursday and 1 p.m. on Friday, someone stole a bottle of Oxycodone from a vehicle at the 300 block of Southwest Third Street in Chehalis, according to a report made to police on Friday afternoon.

• Chehalis police were called to the 300 block of Northeast Washington Avenue about 1:45 p.m. on Friday for a vehicle prowl in which a wallet and cigarettes were stolen.

• Police were called to the 100 block of West Pine Street in Centralia about 10:40 a.m. on Friday where someone had stolen a doghouse from a vehicle.

DRUGS, WARRANT

• Two people were arrested after contact with an officer at the 400 block of West Main Street in Centralia just after 1 p.m. on Saturday. Brandon L. Caley, 20, of Winlock was cited for minor in possession of marijuana and then released, according to the Centralia Police Department. Stormie M. McKenzie, 19, of Winlock, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail on an outstanding warrant issued out of Lewis County Superior Court.

• A 37-year-old Winlock man wanted on an outstanding warrant was captured by a Lewis County Sheriff’s Office K-9 after he ran from a residence to a wooded area near the 100 block of Southeast First Street in Winlock on Friday evening. K-9 Axel was assisting the Toledo Police Department. Steven R. Luurs Jr. was was booked into the Lewis County Jail.

• A motorist was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure after her car left the roadway yesterday afternoon on northbound Interstate 5 near milepost 79 and landed in a creek. Firefighters called about 2:20 p.m. report that witnesses helped the woman and her small dog out of the vehicle, with the passenger compartment about halfway filled with water.

MORE THAN $2,500 CASH, GOLD COINS TAKEN IN PARKING LOT PROWL

• A 52-year-old man called Chehalis police about 3:50 p.m. yesterday to report someone had gotten inside his van while it was parked in a lot at the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue and stolen a black Wakefield computer bag containing a silver Apple MacBook and a black fanny pack which had inside of it $1,400 cash and approximately $1,300 worth of gold coins. He had left the van unlocked, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

BIKE THEFT THWARTED

• A 24-year-old man was arrested yesterday afternoon after a resident from the 300 block of Ceres Hill Road called to report a red bicycle valued at $25 was stolen from his tool shop. The caller said he spotted a person walking east on state Route 6 and saw his family bike laying in a ditch, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies learned two children had seen a male riding the bike away from the residence, contacted the male and subsequently arrested him for second-degree burglary, according to the sheriff’s office. Michael S. Winegarden Jr., from Winlock, was booked into the Lewis County Jail, Chief Deputy Dusty Breen said.

AUTO THEFT

• A deputy was called to the 1600 block of Bishop Road south of Chehalis yesterday morning where a silver 2012 Volkswagen Jetta had been stolen sometime between 12:30 a.m. and 7:45 a.m. While investigating, deputies learned of three vehicle prowls which had occurred in the same area between Wednesday and yesterday, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

• Centralia police were contacted about 6:30 p.m. yesterday by an individual who said his vehicle was stolen during the night from the 200 block of East Chestnut Street. The vehicle was located, abandoned, in Mossyrock later in the day, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Chehalis police were called about 9:50 a.m. yesterday to take a report that a locked 1993 Toyota pickup had been stolen during the night from the 1300 block of Northwest Maryland Avenue.

DISRUPTIVE PATIENT

• A 32-year-old Randle woman who allegedly caused a disruption inside the hospital was arrested yesterday evening, according to the Centralia Police Department. Officers called to the 900 block of South Scheuber Road about 6:40 p.m. detained Kelly A. Holen and booked her into the Lewis County Jail for interfering with a health care facility and two outstanding warrants, according to police.

DISRUPTIVE PERSON

• Centralia police were called to the 1200 block of Lum Road about 8:45 a.m. yesterday where a 32-year-old Centralia man had allegedly thrown rocks at several vehicles and shoved one of the vehicle owners to the ground. Jason R. Ferris was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for fourth-degree assault and for malicious mischief, according to the Centralia Police Department.

DRUGS

• A 35-year-old Lynwood man was arrested for possession of methamphetamine following a traffic stop about midnight on the 1600 block of Military Road in Centralia, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. Chief Deputy Dusty Breen said at first, Ryan M. Demaray gave a false name, but then it was discovered he had an outstanding warrant. A search incident to his arrest turned up two small baggies with residue and a white crystallized substance which field-tested positive for meth, according to Breen. Demaray was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to Breen.

• Chehalis police were called about 4 p.m. yesterday to the 500 block of Northeast Adams Avenue when a search of a client’s items at admittance turned up paraphernalia or a controlled substance, which field-tested positive for heroin, according to the Chehalis Police Department. Alex C. Edenstrom, 26, from Tumwater, was arrested for a drug violation and booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to police.

• A 29-year-old Lacey resident detained for suspected shoplifting at the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue about 9:45 a.m. yesterday was arrested for a violation of the Uniform Controlled Substances Act when a search incident to her arrest turned up a substance suspected to be heroin, according to the Chehalis Police Department. Stephanie A. Bulldis was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to police.

• Riverside Fire Authority responded to a three-vehicle collision on southbound Interstate 5 near Harrison Avenue in Centralia about 4:40 a.m. today. • Centralia police were called just before 1 p.m. yesterday to take a report from a 14-year-old boy who reported three older juveniles stole $3 from him and punched him in the face as he was walking to school along the 2900 block of block of Borst Avenue, according to the Centralia Police Department. He said he did not know them, did not see where they came from or see where they went afterward, according to police.

AUTO THEFT

• Centralia police were called to the 2600 block of Cooks Hill Road at 10:20 a.m. yesterday where a red 1994 Honda Civic had been stolen. The two-door car with black racing stripes has a license plate reading BCH 6800, according to the Centralia Police Department.

FIREARM STOLEN

• Chehalis police were called to the Lewis County senior center on the 2500 block of North National Avenue about 7:40 p.m. yesterday after a Glock 9 mm, two knives and a wallet belonging to someone teaching a class disappeared from a back room where they had been stored temporarily. Police are looking for a person suspected of taking the items when he was allowed to look through some spare clothing, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

FRAUD

• An officer was called about 10:30 a.m. yesterday to take a report that several hundred dollars were stolen from an individual’s bank account in a case associated with the 200 block of Tilley Road in Centralia.

TOOL TAKEN

• Centralia police were called about 2:50 p.m. yesterday to take a report that an angle grinder was stolen from the 1100 block of North Pearl Street. The investigation is ongoing, according to the Centralia Police Department.

MISSING MAIL

• The theft of mail from the 3000 block of Borst Avenue in Centralia was reported at 12:10 p.m. yesterday.

DRUGS AND ALCOHOL

• Chehalis police were called to W.F. West High School about 12:30 p.m. yesterday about a suspected marijuana violation. One person was arrested but not booked, but further details were not readily available, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

• Chehalis police were called to W.F. West High School about 2 p.m. yesterday for minor allegedly in possession of alcohol. One person was arrested and then released, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

DISORDERLY PERSON

• Chehalis police were called about 2:40 p.m. yesterday about a disorderly person at the 1700 block of Northeast Kresky Avenue and ended up assisting Cascade Mental Health, according to the Chehalis Police Department. The 25-year-old man from Aberdeen allegedly kicked an officer in the leg, and a case is being referred to prosecutors for possible charges, according to police. The man was not booked.

DISRUPTIVE PATIENT

• A 55-year-old Centralia man who allegedly refused to leave after he was discharged from the hospital was arrested last night for interfering with a health care facility. Officers called to the 900 block of South Scheuber Road about 7:30 p.m. were told Randy W. Hausinger was causing a disruption, according to the Centralia Police Department. He was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to police.

VANDALISM

• Chehalis police were called to the 800 block of South Market Boulevard about 8:10 a.m. yesterday to take a report of graffiti left on a fire hydrant and also a back porch.

• Chehalis police called just before 4 a.m. today for a vehicle accident at the 1500 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue in which a van was hanging over the edge of a parking lot with nobody in it located a pair of 15-year-old boys nearby who disassociated themselves from the incident, according to the Chehalis Police Department. However, further investigation led an officer to arrest the teens for taking a motor vehicle without permission and book them in to the Lewis County Juvenile Detention Center, according to police. They are from Tumwater and Olympia, police said.

VANDALISM

• Chehalis police were called to the 200 block of Northwest Chehalis Avenue yesterday to take a report of malicious mischief that had occurred over the weekend. Someone had gone onto the roof of a building, removed a grate and used a plastic bottle to plug a drain, causing water damage inside, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

PE ELL FIRE INVESTIGATION

• A fire that damaged a house and a recreational vehicle in Pe Ell this weekend remains under investigation. Firefighters called just after 3 o’clock on Saturday morning to the Central Avenue blaze found the RV that caught fire was parked right next to the home and then flames spread into the eaves and attic, according to fire investigator Ted McCarty. Nobody was hurt, McCarty said.

• Chehalis police were called at 6:04 a.m. today for a burglary or theft at the 300 block of South Market Boulevard. Further details were unavailable.

• Centralia police were called at 1:05 p.m. yesterday to the 1300 block of Lum Road where a male was reported to have stolen several coats. No arrest was made, according to the Centralia Police Department.

TOLEDO PEDESTRIAN SERIOUSLY INJURED

• A 32-year-old Toledo man was airlifted from Providence Centralia Hospital to St. Joseph Hospital in Tacoma with a possible head injury after an encounter with a pickup truck early Sunday morning at the 100 block of Mulford Road near Vader. The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the circumstances of what occurred. Deputies responding about 1:30 a.m. yesterday learned the victim had opened the passenger door of the Chevrolet S110 pickup in which his significant other was a passenger and the truck sped away, but when it stopped about 200 feet later, witnesses saw the victim was laying on his back unconscious, according to the sheriff’s office. Witnesses didn’t see how he ended up on the ground though, according to Chief Deputy Dusty Breen. Breen said the truck was being driven by a 50-year-old Vader man and deputies were told the victim and his significant other had been recently going through relationship “issues.”

BURGLARY

• Two boys questioned after a residence was ransacked on the 600 block of B Street in Vader yesterday reportedly said they thought the house was abandoned and it was okay to go inside, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. Friends of the 27-year-old homeowner had arrived about 2 p.m. and found items damaged, including two televisions and a glass table top, and items missing, such as a paint sprayer, according to the sheriff’s office. A neighbor reported seeing two young people riding away on bicycles, pulling a wagon between about 10 a.m. and 11 a.m., Chief Deputy Dusty Breen said. The total loss is more than $1,000, Breen said. The suspects are Vader residents, ages 10 and 14, according to Breen. The case will be forwarded to prosecutors for evaluation of charges of second-degree burglary.

• An apartment on the 700 block of North Pearl Street in Centralia was broken into overnight, according to a report made to police about 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.

• Centralia police were called just before 11 a.m. yesterday following the discovery a a hot tub cover had been stolen during the night from a fenced yard on the 2200 block of North Tower Avenue.

BUSINESS BREAK-IN

• Chehalis police were called about 7:10 a.m. on Sunday by someone who found the front door to a business pried open at the 300 block of Northwest Chehalis Avenue. Nobody was inside and nothing appeared to be missing, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

AUTO THEFT

• Centralia police were contacted just after 1 p.m. yesterday regarding a green 1996 Honda Accord stolen from the 200 block of West Plum Street. It was recovered later in the day in Tumwater, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Police were called about 8:30 p.m. on Saturday after a white 2001 Harley Davidson Fat Boy Softail motorcycle was stolen from the 2400 block of Seward Avenue in Centralia.

• Centralia police were called about 6:35 a.m. today to the 1000 block of H Street to take a report that sometime during the night someone stole vehicle batteries, damaging the cables.

• An air compressor and staple gun were stolen from a vehicle on the 1800 block of North Pearl Street in Centralia, according to a report made to police about 4:25 a.m. today.

• Centralia police were called about a vehicle prowl at the 200 block of South Silver Street about 9:40 a.m. on Friday. A back pack and money were stolen during the night, according to the Centralia Police Department.

FAKE MONEY

• Chehalis police were called to the 1600 Block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue about 12:30 p.m. yesterday following the discovery of three counterfeit $50 bills.

VANDALISM

• Chehalis police were called just before 11 a.m. on Friday by an individual who reported they were following a group of teens who smashed pumpkins at Eighth Street and Cascade Avenue in Chehalis.

• A 55-year-old homeless man was arrested for interfering with a healthcare facility after police were called just before 3 a.m. on Saturday to the 900 block of South Scheuber Road. Randy W. Hausinger was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Chehalis police were called to Green Hill School on the 300 block of Southwest 11th Street about 11:40 a.m. on Friday to take a report that an 18-year-old student-inmate had allegedly taken a swing at an employee after taking an item off a food cart when he was not supposed to, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

DRUGS

• A 24-year-old Centralia woman was arrested for an outstanding warrant and then for possession of methamphetamine following contact with police about 5:30 a.m. yesterday at the 1200 block of Alder Street in Centralia. Briget J. Parker, was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• A 22-year-old Yelm resident was arrested for theft and possession of methamphetamine after neighbors at the 1100 block of Highway 603 witnessed a Mongoose XR250 bike being stolen about 3:30 p.m. on Friday, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies located a suspect, Michael D. Seidel, and booked him in to the Lewis County Jail, according to the sheriff’s office.

• A traffic stop of an erratic vehicle at the northbound Interstate 5 exit 77 off ramp about 4:45 a.m. on Friday led to the arrest of two people for outstanding warrants and possession of heroin, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. Booked into the Lewis County Jail were  Brian L. West, 33, of Lacey and Jamie L. Chesterfield, 24, of Yelm, according to the sheriff’s office. A case for possession of a dangerous weapon is being referred to prosecutors in connection with West, because of a spring-blade knife that was found, Chief Deputy Breen said.

CAR CATCHES FIRE

• The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a suspicious vehicle fire that occurred about 5:20 a.m. on Saturday at the 900 block of Muller Road near Pe Ell. Deputies arriving about 6:30 a.m. were told the property owner heard a loud bang, looked outside and saw the car burning, according to the sheriff’s office. The 2007 Dodge Caliber being stored there for a 70-year-old man who moved to Kansas, had not run in about two years and did not have a working battery, Chief Deputy Dusty Breen said.

ON THE ROAD, OFF THE ROAD

• The driver was injured and a pickup truck sustained heavy damage when it traveled off the 200 block of Wigley Road in Centralia and into a power pole and then a small tree yesterday afternoon. Firefighters and the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched about 4:35 p.m. Bystanders had helped the driver out and AMR transported to Providence Centralia Hospital, according to Riverside Fire Authority. The extent of injuries was unknown, Capt. Erik Olson stated.

• A 29-year-old driver was injured when her car crossed over the oncoming lane and into an earthen bank on state Route 7 about 10 miles north of Morton on Saturday afternoon, according to the Washington State Patrol. The 2015 Toyota Corolla was totaled and Sindy J. Avila Gutierrez was transported to Morton General Hospital, according to the state patrol. Troopers called about 4:35 p.m. to the scene indicate the Woodburn, Oregon woman was to be cited for speeding, dangerously distracted driving and driving with a suspended license.

•  A white 1991 Honda Accord with black wheels was stolen from the 700 block of H Street in Centralia, according to a report made to police about 9:25 a.m. yesterday It has a license plate reading BAE 9021, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• An Apple iPad was reported stolen from a home on the 1400 block of Johnson Road in Centralia about 1:35 p.m. yesterday.

• Centralia police were called about 10:25 a.m. yesterday to a residence on the 1200 block of South Scheuber Road to take a report a laptop computer was stolen.

• A 58-year-old homeless man hanging around outside a bank on the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue yesterday allegedly resisted when contacted by an officer and was arrested for third-degree assault after a slight scuffle with the officer, according to the Chehalis Police Department. Police called to the area at 1 p.m. yesterday booked Henry T. Baker into the Lewis County Jail. A case for second-degree trespassing was to be referred in connection with the incident, according to police. Prosecutors today declined to file the felony charge.
