JEWELRY STORE HEIST

• Chehalis police are investigating after getting a report that a pickup truck broke out the windows at a jewelry store early this morning and an as-of-yet-unknown amount of items stolen. Officers were called at 3:11 a.m. to the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue, according to the Chehalis Police Department. The suspect truck, which belonged to the city of Centralia, was located just before 9 a.m. at Southwest First Street and Scott Place in Chehalis, according to police. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Chehalis police.

THEFT, THEFT, THEFT

• A Centralia retail store at the 1300 block of Lum Road reported the theft of $5,000 worth of merchandise just before 11 a.m. on Friday.  Stolen was a piece of jewelry, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Centralia police were called to a business on the 2400 block of Borst Avenue about 6:30 p.m. on Sunday because two individuals stole an exterior security camera.

• Centralia police were called to the 1100 block of View Avenue about 2:50 p.m. on Saturday because a New Jersey man allegedly had provided false personal information to a business in order to fraudulently obtain merchandise. Matthew S. Mangual, 24, of Garfield, New Jersey, was was booked into the Lewis County Jail for criminal impersonation, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• A resident at a care facility on the 1300 block of Alexander Street in Centralia reported the theft of twenty dollars just before noon on Friday, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• A tape measure and tools were among the items stolen from a vehicle at the 1900 block of Ahlers Avenue in Centralia, according to a report made to police at about 1 p.m. on Friday.

DRUGS

• A 55-year-old man picked up for an outstanding warrant at the 500 block of West Pear Street in Centralia just before 3 p.m. on Friday was also arrested for possession of methamphetamine. Daniel R. Randall, who has no address, was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to the Centralia Police Department.

VANDALISM

• Centralia police were dispatched to the 100 block of North Silver Street at about 11:20 p.m. on Sunday following a report of a window broken on a business while employees were inside.

• Chehalis police were called at 1 p.m. on Friday to the 1600 block of Southwest Snively Avenue following the discovery someone had broken into a vacant house. Inside, a hole had been made in a wall, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

ON THE ROAD, OFF THE ROAD

• A 29-year-old Packwood woman was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after her car crossed the centerline and collided with an oncoming vehicle on U.S. Highway 12 just east of White Pass this morning. Maryann  Lee was traveling eastbound near milepost 153 in a 2000 Honda CRV, according to the Washington State Patrol. The 25-year-old Selah resident behind the wheel of the 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe involved was reportedly unhurt. Troopers called to the scene at about 7:45 a.m. indicate both vehicles were totaled. Lee was not wearing a seat belt, according to the state patrol.
