VEHICLE THEFT

• A truck and trailer were reported stolen from a motel parking lot at the 1200 block of Alder Street about 7:35 a.m. today.

• At about 11:30 p.m. on Thursday an officer observed a stolen car in a parking lot at the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue in Chehalis and arrested the occupant. The 2007 Chrysler Sebring was missing from Pasco, according to the Chehalis Police Department. Because a clear bag of a crystal substance was also found, Andres Luna-Gonzales, 43, was booked into the Lewis County Jail for possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of methamphetamine, according to police.

• Centralia police were called about 5:30 a.m. on Thursday when an individual heard their car start up and drive away from the 3000 block of Russell Road. Stolen was a black 1998 Honda Civic with a license plate reading BLS 8712, according to the Centralia Police Department.

ALDER STREET PROWLING

• A gas powered weed eater and a jump-box were stolen from under a carport on the 1100 block of Alder Street in Centralia, according to a report made to police about 8:10 a.m. on Thursday.

• Centralia police were called about 7:50 a.m. on Thursday to the 1100 block of Alder Street after a victim discovered the rear hatch of the vehicle open and a car stereo amplifier missing.

SWITCHED PLATES

• Centralia police were called about 10:25 a.m. on Thursday by an individual who reported the license plate was stolen from the their vehicle and replaced with a plate from a stolen vehicle in a case associated with the 200 block of North Ash Street.

TRICKSTER FAILS

• A scam was reported about 1:30 p.m. on Thursday in which a Centralia resident said they were told they had won a new car and cash. They had been sent a small locked safe and then contacted by a person who told them they had to send a check for $5,000 to get the safe access code to claim the prizes, according to the Centralia Police Department. The potential victim did not send money but instead notified police. It is unknown at this time where the scam originated from, according to police.

BAD BILL

• Centralia police were contacted about 9:30 a.m. on Thursday by a business on the 1000 block of Kresky Avenue where a counterfeit $100 bill had been passed.

BAD BEHAVIOR

• Cherish F. Willis, 19, and Journi R. M. Trask, 21, both of Centralia, were each arrested for fighting in public after officers were called to their workplace at the 1200 block of Alder Street for the report of a possible assault at about 6:40 p.m. on Thursday. They were then released, according to the Centralia Police Department.

DRUGS

• Chehalis police were called to the 300 block of Southwest 16th Street about 1:30 a.m. on Thursday because two juveniles had allegedly brought green vegetable material and paraphernalia to school. The items are being sent out for testing, according to the Chehalis Police Department.
