ON THE ROAD, OFF THE ROAD

• A car was traveling so fast when it ran a stop sign at South Scheuber and Graf roads in Centralia yesterday, it went airborne before landing, turning broadside and hitting an oncoming vehicle. Four adults were injured and a 1-year-old girl in the victim vehicle was unhurt, according to the Washington State Patrol. Troopers called just before 2:30 p.m. found a 41-year-old Chehalis man behind the wheel of a 2002 Volvo S60 had been traveling northbound. Michael J.  Page was transported to Tacoma General Hospital, according to the state patrol. His two passengers, Jason W. Stoker, 37, of Longview, and Jennifer L. German, 35, from Stanwood, were taken to Providence Centralia Hospital. The driver of a 2010 Chevrolet Equinox, 26-year-old Carin M. Landrum, of Chehalis, was also transported to Providence. The baby in the Equinox had been buckled in, according to the state patrol. Troopers suspect Page was impaired, according to Trooper Will Finn. The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office dispatched about 1:30 p.m. to the wreck requested that the state patrol investigate the collision.

• A 30-year-old Centralia resident who allegedly ran a stop sign and T-boned another vehicle before fleeing the scene yesterday was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence as well as felony hit and run in Centralia. Police called just after 7 p.m. to South Pearl and Magnolia streets booked Ricardo Reyes-Atempa into the Lewis County Jail, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Centralia police were called about 6:25 p.m. yesterday for a hit and run collision in which the victim left before officers arrived. The at-fault driver remained at the scene at North Tower Avenue and First Street, according to the Centralia Police Department.

BREAK-IN CENTRALIA

• Officers responded to an in-progress burglary in which a male suspect was reportedly stealing property from a residence that was undergoing renovation at the 2300 block of Sirkka Avenue in Centralia about 4 p.m. yesterday. The case is under investigation, according to the Centralia Police Department.

CAR PROWL

• A purse was stolen in a vehicle prowl at the 2000 block of Borst Avenue in Centralia, according to a report made to police about 11:30 a.m. yesterday.

• Centralia police were called for a vehicle prowl at the 500 block of Harrison Avenue about 9:15 a.m. yesterday in which a purse was taken.

• A wallet was stolen in a vehicle prowl at the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue in Centralia, according to a report made to police about 8:25 a.m. yesterday.
