AUTO THEFT
• A vehicle dealership at the 1500 block of Northwest State Avenue in Chehalis reported just before noon yesterday they were missing a 1999 Mercedes Benz. By 2:30 p.m., Centralia police had found the car abandoned at Reynolds Avenue and Johnson Road in Centralia. The owner was notified they could pick it up, according to the Chehalis Police Department.
DIAMOND NECKLACE MISSING
• The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office reports this morning they were contacted by a 21-year-old woman whose makeup bag containing a $6,000 diamond necklace vanished from a home where she stayed with a friend on Sunday night at the 300 block of Winston Creek Road outside of Mossyrock. There is no suspect information, according to the sheriff’s office.
FRAUD
• An individual reported from the 500 block of West Summa Street in Centralia just before 9 a.m. yesterday that someone had used their name to fraudulently open up multiple credit card accounts.
ON THE ROAD, OFF THE ROAD
• A pedestrian who ran into a crosswalk was struck by a vehicle and injured at Harrison Avenue and Johnson Road in Centralia yesterday evening. Police called at 7:45 p.m. state the patient was transported to the hospital for treatment. The motorist was found not at fault because a “don’t walk” signal was active at the time, according to the Centralia Police Department.
• Centralia police report a pedestrian in a crosswalk suffered a broken leg when hit by a vehicle at Pearl and Main streets in Centralia just before 4 p.m. yesterday. The driver was issued a notice of infraction, according to the Centralia Police Department.
