MISSING CAT, ANGRY COMMENTS LEAD TO ARREST
• A 56-year-old Onalaska man was arrested last night after allegedly making threats he would shoot someone over the disappearance of his cat in a case involving a neighbor and other threats at the 200 block of Vantage Lane in Onalaska. Steven E. Norris, was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office
THEFT, THEFT, THEFT
• Centralia police took a report about 1:30 p.m. yesterday about a purse stolen from the 500 block of Harrison Avenue.
• Police were called to a residence on the 1100 block of Long Road just after 10 o’clock yesterday morning about the theft of tools.
• Cash and other items were missing from an apartment at the 1100 block of South Pearl Street in Centralia, according to a report made to police about 8:40 a.m. yesterday.
FRAUD
• Chehalis police were called to a business at the 1700 block of Northeast Kresky Avenue where they learned of phone calls indicating someone was using checks with that business’s information in a scam. The business closed the account and there are no leads to a suspect, according to the Chehalis Police Department.
VEHICLE PROWL
• Police were called about 9:40 a.m. yesterday regarding a car prowl at the 300 block of West Pear Street in Centralia. A wallet was missing from the vehicle which had been locked but had an open sunroof, according to the Centralia Police Department.
• Centralia police were called to the 1200 block of Alder Street about 7:45 a.m. yesterday to take a report of a theft. A rotary hammer had been removed from inside a locked tool box attached to the bed of a truck, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• And, as usual, other incidents such as arrests for warrants, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, reckless driving, driving with suspended license, protection order violation; responses for alarm, dispute, civil issue, hit and run, vehicle collision, third-degree theft, suspicious circumstances, motorist seen speeding up to try to hit a dog… and more among 164 calls for local law enforcement and / or fire-emergency medical services in the 24-hour period ending about 7 a.m.

Cats go missing all the time. Mine shows up like clockwork for her dinner so, when she didn’t for 2 days last year, I assumed the worst but didn’t suspect a neighbor of killing her – more likely a raccoon or coyote got her. Of course a neighbor could have locked her in somewhere inadvertently.
I posted the neighborhood with her picture and a reward for info, alive or dead. I ask my neighbors if they would check their garages and sheds. Glory be, on the third night she came home all filthy like she had buried herself in a hole or something. I was so happy. She must have had a terrifying near death experience as she sticks a lot closer to her yard now. It’s amazing how these little family members can give you crazy worry, but don’t go to jail over it.

One year ago a 17 year old male threatened to kill me thru text messages. I called the police and showed messages, nothing happened!!! This year I read in the sirens that a 16 year old male is arrested for making death threats on someone!!!!

Seriously?? A man is arrested because he said he was going to shoot someone because of his missing cat? People say things in anger all of the time! But they won’t arrest someone who steals something but because they werent caught with it red handed, they walk free even after admitting they stole it to others!! Grow up LCSO!
