CHEHALIS – A mild earthquake was recorded overnight south of Randle and Glenoma.
The 3.2 magnitude quake was measured by the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network as three miles deep.
It occurred at 1:50 a.m. and was followed five minutes later with a 2.0 quake, according to PNSN.
The Lewis County 911 communications center indicated just after 2 o’clock this morning there were no reports of damage.
At least three people shared on Lewis County Sirens Facebook they felt shaking and three citizen responses were received by the “Did You Feel It?” function of PNSN’s web site.
Bill Calkin was awake in his recliner in Randle when it happened, causing him to think a big tree must have come down on his property.
“It only lasted for a few seconds,” Calkin stated in a message this morning. “Just a low rumble and then a thug like jolt.”
PNSN described the location as 21 miles southeast of Morton. Lewis County 911 described it as 10 miles northeast of Mount St. Helens.

The big one is coming. Repent.
I felt it when I was taking a number two in the privy… Scared the crap outta me. Though someone was shaken it. I live up on green mt and I don’t believe it but it’s the ends of times I tell you collect your food storage and don’t talk to strangers.
My Rainer is due for a big boom soon. Build by a Volcano expect a sudden surprise in the near future. It’s just a matter of time before it wipes out thousands of people. All those evacuation routes won’t save you. The roads cannot even handle rush hour traffic so how could they handle a mass evacuation event. The signs are just a waste of tax payer dollars, you’re not going to be able to get away in time if it happens. Look what happened during hurricane Katrina, the police shot and killed people trying to leave the area. Don’t think it’s true? Look it Up, the police murdered innocent bystanders trying to flee the chaos and that’s what they will do again if we have another disaster.
That south shore of Riffe Lake in a line to St. Helens has been a swarm of small earthquakes for months now.
I just find it interesting that for the most part they don’t occur north of Riffe lake.
I live in Mossyrock. A simultaneous jolt and boom sound woke me up at 1:50 a.m.
