CENTRALIAN MAKES DARING ESCAPE FROM THE LAW
• A 25-year-old Centralia man wanted for an outstanding warrant reportedly slipped away from deputies at Gee Cees truck stop apparently by hitching a ride on the underside of a departing semi truck. It happened on Friday afternoon and after viewing surveillance images, the nature of the escape was verified, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. A deputy had responded about 1:30 p.m. to the 100 block of Herriford Road near Toledo where they were told two people got their vehicle stuck on someone’s property and left on foot, according to the sheriff’s office. They were able to locate the couple at the truck stop off Interstate 5 south of Vader and as Ruben A. Inman was being questioned, he fled, Chief Deputy Stacy Brown said. A track by a police dog was being arranged when a truck driver said he’d seen the male crawl under the trailer of semi truck and it left with him still beneath it, Brown said. The un-named female told the deputy Inman had a warrant, although would not give his name, Brown said. Deputies were able to figure out who he was, traced the truck driver using information from the card used to purchase fuel and got the truck stopped in Arlington, according to Brown. The truck driver found Inman’s cap, but not the extra passenger. It’s unknown at what point he disembarked, according to Brown.

This was kind of a stupid thing to run from, in such a daring way. He was THIS afraid of a couple weeks in jail for a DOC violation? LCJ must be horrifying…
And seriously, why isn’t there Metgadone Clinics in Centralia / Lewis County. This place has a MAJOR Heroin / Meth problem. Many of those addicted would seek help if they didn’t have to hitch a ride to Olympia since they likely don’t have a locense, insurance, or even a car to do so.
All I know is a Methadone Clinic would be vital here.
Oh and yes. That was quite the escape indeed. I sure hope the truck driver isn’t penalized in any way. Unless involved.
But if the cops could track him that far and have him stopped and contacted. Why couldn’t they just BOLO every town and city from here to there. That dude didn’t hold on for long. Impossible to hang on that far. I would think…
I’m just saying the truck driver could have been killed by cops all because they HAD TO tall to him about something he knew nothing about.
You nailed this Pea Body Slim.
I’ve seen bikes locked to a pole next to the new lock up points. Not one on new points.
City workers really do stand in pairs, (typically see 3 at a time) and they do smoke in City vehicles.
Centralia PD wasted Tax Payers money on an experimental paint job that everyone hates. Know what money will be used to repaint it again?…
And the DOT is constantly making repairs to roads that are in excellent condition. We can barely navivate Centralia thanks to that couplet project abomination and they bottleneck us to side streets that aren’t for thru-traffic, which have major backups now. It’s awful.
I always wonder where the Lottery money has gone too. Always trying to pass a Levy when that Lottery money is somewhere else.
Green Hill is just a joke.
As for people in jail learning crime. That’s not so simple. What you said though should be applied to first time offenders so they know that a good life still awaits them. And not a life of crime. I never want to see a two strike 10 page rap sheet straight up convict working for less time and burning the potential resource.
Sorry for being all over with this post. I think you’ll get the gist of it.
James Bond type of escape. If our justice system had real programs then people would be more inclined to get help. Instead you rot in a cell and learn about crime all day. The prison, jail system should have road crew community programs to help the community and to better the offenders. There are lots of things offenders could be doing in the community to make a real chage. If you treat people like humans they will do the right thing. Instead the money for taxes is wasted. The lottery was supposed to be used to fund schools yet every year their asking for more tax money. The system is broken everyone knows it look around. We send millions overseas while I see people with mental problems roaming the streets of Centralia. Lets fix our Area first then worry about other countries. Look at all the new bike racks in Centralia, when have you seen a bike locked to one yet? Just like the pool. The empty green house at Green Hill. The un needed Fluoride added to the water. City workers smoking in city vehicles, city workers standing around holding shovels in pairs. Newly painted cop cars and one shelter in Centralia and no Methadone Program like all real citys have. Our streets could be paved in Gold yet the money is wasted over and over again, change the justice system offer real programs and watch it change for the better. Instead its all about greed. Money is doing this to our society. Voting has failed its time we the people push back were sick of it. The Government does it all by the end of the gun barrel maybe its time we point the gun in the other direction.somethings gotta change
