ANOTHER FIRE IN BOISTFORT UNDER INVESTIGATION

• Firefighters were called about 1:30 p.m. yesterday to a motor home on fire behind a residence in the Boistfort area. The resident on the 200 block of Lake Creek Road discovered the blaze in the RV in which his nephew was storing items, according to Fire Investigator Derrick Paul. The motor home and its contents were destroyed, Paul said this morning. The fire is about a half mile from Saturday night’s fire in which a 46-year-old woman found her porch burning, Paul said. He didn’t know if the two were related, but said the motor home fire is under investigation.

ELDERLY PEDESTRIAN HIT BY VEHICLE AT GAS STATION

• A 90-year-old man was hospitalized yesterday morning after being struck by a vehicle in the parking lot of the AM/PM on the 100 block of U.S. Highway 12. The Wenatchee resident was walking from the fuel pumps into the store when he was hit by a small sport utility vehicle driven by a 19-year-old Bellevue woman, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. He complained of knee and hip pain and was transported to Providence Centralia Hospital, Chief Civil Deputy Stacy Brown said.

THEFT

• A 1995 Chevrolet S14 pickup truck was reported stolen from where it was parked in the front yard of a residence on the 1100 block of Highway 603 in Chehalis yesterday morning. Its owner told a deputy it went missing sometime between 10 p.m. on Sunday and 7:30 a.m. yesterday, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. The truck is turquoise and silver with a license plate reading B26303S, according to the sheriff’s office.

DRUGS

• Police arrested two people at a Centralia motel last night for drug violations, including possession of cocaine and heroin. The arrests occurred about 9 p.m. at the 1300 block of Lakeshore Drive, according to the Centralia Police Department. John R. Ryan, 55, and Laura J. Korn, 49, both of Kodiak, Alaska, were booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to police. Further details such as the amount of drugs related were not readily available.

ASSAULT

• A 56-year-old Toledo woman was arrested last night for second-degree assault after she allegedly tried to strangle her live-in boyfriend. Deputies were called to a dispute about 6:30 p.m. at the 400 block of Jackson Highway South, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies were told she grabbed him, ripping his shirt, and pulled him onto the sofa and put her hands around his neck, Chief Civil Deputy Stacy Brown said this morning. He suffered  cuts to his face, Brown said. Debbie A. Dobash, 56, was booked into the Lewis County Jail. She was angry about shotgun shells they were looking for, according to Brown.
