KOMO News reports police are investigating after an Oakville man convicted of indecent exposure placed a personals ad in The (Centralia) Chronicle saying he would “like to be a big brother” to someone’s 7- or 8-year-old daughter.

The 61-year-old told KOMO his advertisement resulted in one serious response as well as a number of obscene phone calls.

    I agree there should be filtering of some kind. If the man wasn’t a convict,, would this still be inappropriate? Predator non the less…

    The Chronicle has some social responsibility here. I agree this should never have been printed. I have cancelled my subscription, I will not support this kind of nonsense.

    Is the Chronical seeking an Editor? The person taking the add is just as bad as the editor not dealing with it. The ad should never have ended up in print.

    Why in the heck would the Chronicle run this ad? There has got to be some sort of filtering in place so that ads like these are not published. Shame on the paper, it is disgusting that they would print it.
