ONALASKA SHOOTING VICTIM’S NAME RELEASED
• The Lewis County Coroner’s Office confirmed today the cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds in the case of the 67-year-old woman found dead last week after her husband called 911 to their home on the 200 block of Burchett Road saying his wife had “pushed him too far.” Frances A. Reed’s death was homicide, according to the coroner’s office. Bruce E. Reed, 67, told arriving deputies the night of Jan. 22 the couple had been arguing. He was arrested, booked into the Lewis County Jail and subsequently charged with first-degree murder in Lewis County Superior Court.
ASSAULT
• Chehalis police were called about 4:15 p.m. yesterday regarding an assault at the 300 block of Southwest 16th Street in which two juveniles allegedly assaulted another juvenile. Police are investigating.
BURGLARY AND THEFT
• Chehalis police were called to the 200 block of Southwest 14th Street at about 4:15 p.m. yesterday where a lock had been pried off the door of a house for sale.
• Chehalis police were called about 2 p.m. yesterday to investigate a theft of money from a business on the 1400 block of Northwest Airport Road.
• Chehalis police were contacted regarding a burglary at the 300 block of Southwest 16th Street at about 1:45 p.m. yesterday in which someone broke into a trailer and stole 30 W.F. West High School sweaters and 15 hats. The loss is estimated at $1,200, according to the Chehalis Police Department.
VEHICLE PROWL
• A chainsaw was stolen out of a vehicle sometime during the night at the 800 block of Marion Street in Centralia, according to a report made to police at about 9:10 a.m. yesterday.
MARIJUANA
• An officer arrested a 17-year-old Centralia boy for possession of marijuana following a traffic stop at Southwest Second Street and McFadden Avenue in Chehalis at about 8:30 p.m. yesterday.
