FIRE CALL TO HOSPITAL
• The radiology department at Providence Centralia Hospital was evacuated for approximately one hour last night when it was discovered an MRI equipment room contained a large amount of smoke. Firefighters called at 10:22 p.m. to the the campus at the 900 block of South Scheuber Road checked the building to ensure the problem was confined to the one room, according to Riverside Fire Authority. There was no damage to the building and responders determined the likely cause of the smoke was overheated electrical equipment, according to Fire Capt. Casey McCarthy.
BAD CHECK
• A 42-year-old Centralia woman was arrested yesterday after allegedly trying to purchase merchandise from a business knowing there was no money in the account. Officers called about 3:25 p.m. to the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue booked Sharon A. Todd into the Lewis County Jail for unlawful issuance of bad checks, according to the Centralia Police Department.
CAR PROWL
• Chehalis police were called to the 200 block of West Main Street about 4:55 p.m. yesterday where someone had broken into a vehicle and left something broken off in the ignition. Nothing appeared to be missing, according to the Chehalis Police Department.
VANDALISM
• An individual reported damage to a door of their residence at the 1000 block of North Pearl Street in Centralia at about 9:40 a.m. yesterday, according to the Centralia Police Department.
DRUGS
• The Morton Police Department reported yesterday that around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, an officer arrested an Aberdeen resident for attempting to elude, possession of heroin with the intent to manufacture, possession with intent to deliver another controlled substance and “escape” from community custody. Jose Guadalupe Ambrocio, 31, was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to Morton police.
MISSING BIKE
• The Morton Police Department reported yesterday that an officer took a report last Wednesday of a bicycle stolen from a garage at the 300 block of Mossyrock Avenue in Mossyrock. Missing is a blue and/or teal-colored NEXT brand mountain bike with 24-inch rims, according to police.
ON THE ROAD, OFF THE ROAD
• The Morton Police Department reported yesterday they are waiting for (unspecified) information in order to investigate a possible hit and run involving a pedestrian and a vehicle at the 800 block of Main Avenue that was reported last Thursday at 5:16 p.m.
