TEEN INMATE FLEES HOSPITAL
• A 17-year-old student-inmate from Green Hill School transported to Providence Centralia Hospital at the 900 block of South Scheuber Road fled on foot from staff after arriving, according to a call made to police at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Law enforcement officers from Centralia along with units from the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office, Chehalis, Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, and the Washington State Patrol assisted in the search for the escapee, according to the Centralia Police Department. While the Centralia police dog was searching the area, a trooper on containment located the teenager and took him into custody, according to police. The escapee was transported back to Green Hill School and a case will be referred to prosecutors for a charge of escape, according to police.
ASSAULT
• Centralia police were called about 8:40 p.m. on Monday to the 1900 block of Honeysuckle Lane where an individual reported an ex-roommate entered the residence and assaulted the victim, and then fled. The incident is under investigation, according to the Centralia Police Department.
BURGLARY AND THEFT
• A business on the 1000 block of Eckerson Road in Centralia reported the theft of power tools from its maintenance room at about 10 p.m. on Monday. The case is under investigation, according to the Centralia Police Department.
• Centralia police were called to the 500 block of Harrison Avenue about 10:40 a.m. on Monday to take a report from a business in which someone attempted to break in during the early morning hours by trying to pry the back door open.
• Chehalis police were called to the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue to take a report of a second-degree theft at about 9 p.m. on Saturday.
• Chehalis police were called to the 1900 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue to take a report of a vehicle theft at about 9:40 a.m. on Friday.
REPORT OF SHOOTERS ATOP TAVERN UNFOUNDED
• Officers responding to an 11:15 p.m. call on Saturday from an individual in Mossyrock who claimed there were several people on the roof of a nearby tavern shooting at his residence, contacted the caller and concluded he seemed to be hallucinating due to a possible medical condition combined with alcohol use, according to the Morton Police Department.
STRUCTURE FIRE
• Firefighters are investigating the cause of a fire that heavily damaged an outbuilding on Monday at the 200 block of Blanchard Road in Centralia. A crew was called at 11:15 a.m. to a fully involved fire and kept it contained to the building of origin, according to Riverside Fire Authority. No injuries were reported, according to the fire department.
