CHILD ON BUS SLAPPED

• Centralia police called just before 9 a.m. yesterday to the 1100 block of West Chestnut Street learned that a 58-year-old woman, allegedly, swatted the face of an 8-year-old boy on her bus who had reportedly cursed at her. The child reportedly repeated swore at her and several students, according to the Centralia Police Department. A summons for fourth-degree assault was issued to the Rochester woman, according to police.

ASSAULT

• Chehalis police were called for an assault at about 7:15 a.m. today at the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. Further details were not readily available today

BREAK-IN

• Centralia police were called for a burglary about 1:10 p.m. yesterday at the 300 block of Noel Avenue learned that numerous watches and articles of clothing were stolen from a residence.

• Chehalis police were called just after 1 p.m. yesterday for an attempted burglary at the 200 block of Southwest 10th Street.

DRUG VIOLATION

• A 27-year-old man arrested about 11 p.m. yesterday for an outstanding warrant at the 1200 block of View Avenue in Centralia was also arrested for possession of methamphetamine. Johnathan L.B. Pennypacker, a homeless person, was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to the Centralia Police Department.
