CHEHALIS – Five men were arrested after drug detectives served search warrants at four linked illegal marijuana growing operations in southwest Thurston County and Oakville yesterday and seized millions of dollars worth of property.

The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office said they confiscated more than 2,000 plants, 300 pounds of processed marijuana, $30,000 worth of gold bars, four firearms, $1 million worth of growing equipment, six high-end vehicles and other items of value.

The activities were conducted by the Thurston County Narcotics Task Force, which is comprised of members of the sheriff’s office, the Washington State Patrol and Washington State Gambling Commission, according to sheriff’s Sgt. Carla Carter.

The specific locations were not revealed.

The investigation is ongoing and further arrests are likely, according to Carter.

The suspects were arrested for unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance and unlawful possession with intent to deliver.

Washington state first of two states to decriminalize marijuana possession. Still jailing people for its cultivation, still seizing medical marijuana patients medicine and literally using search warrants to rob people using information gained through public utilities. I don’t believe the government should regulate or tax alcohol or cannabis any more than you would a block of cheese. It’s funny gas is overtaxed, alcohol and marijuana also 3 to 10 times more than other products. It only took 5 years for the state to literally tax the shit out of these items until basically the state gets more than half of the total cost of the item for doing absolutely nothing. This is once again theft as is raids on people homes for growing a harmless plant. This is code enforcement or out right burglary? Code enforcement would respect and legitimize their business but these disrespectful little shits with badge and the judges signing these warrants are stealing what people refuse to give to them in a corrupt system!

It would be one thing to use the taxes for education but the state already spent it on a fancy retirement plans and raises and positions that are useless in every facet of govt. then they go around robbing people. Eff you!

Can’t wait till they bust the place by MP 12 on 508. You can smell it in the mornings on the way to work. Ditto Jackson Hwy by Roberts Rd.

Wow isn’t that burglary? Marijuana is legal to grow. They should get a a ticket for too many plants and be regulated not robbed. Who says the sheriff is entitled to any that gold or that marijuana had anything to do with those gold bars? That’s messed up!! Robbing people for growing pot,…. rediculous!
