ALCOHOL HEIST
• A deputy was called about 9 o’clock yesterday morning to a Randle tavern where someone had broken in and left with at least 20 bottles of liquor, two cases of beer, a safe and some cash. It appeared the burglar had pried open a window covering to get inside, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. The deputy spoke with the owner of the business at the 9700 block of U.S. Highway 12 and learned $263 cash was taken, according to the sheriff’s office. A list of missing property is still being compiled, Chief Deputy Dusty Breen said.
CENTRALIA BREAK-IN
• Centralia police were called about 12:20 p.m. yesterday to the 600 block of North Tower Avenue for a burglary to a business. Someone tried to sell the stolen items to another business, according to the Centralia Police Department.
FIREARM THEFT
• Police took a report from the 1800 block of Collision Street just before 6 p.m. yesterday of a handgun getting stolen.
POWER THEFT
• Centralia police cited a person for third-degree theft yesterday morning in connection with allegedly bypassing a power meter to provide electrical power to a house under renovation at the 1300 block of Rhobina Street. Melchor Bardinino, 49 of Vancouver, was arrested and then released, according to the Centralia Police Department.
CAR PROWL
• Centralia police were called about 11:20 a.m. yesterday for a vehicle prowl at the 800 block of Hamilton Avenue. A door handle to the vehicle was broken, according to the Centralia Police Department.
• Centralia police were called about 8:20 p.m. yesterday to Pear and King streets where someone had broken the driver’s side window to a vehicle there.
MAILBOX TAMPERING
• Police were called to the 300 block of North Tower Avenue in Centralia yesterday afternoon where someone had punched the lock out of a mailbox.
DRUGS
• A 20-year-old Centralia resident picked up on an outstanding warrant yesterday afternoon at the 3300 block of Harrison Avenue in Centralia was subsequently arrested also for possession of methamphetamine, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. Jesse M. McCracken was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to the sheriff’s office.
