CHEHALIS – Centralia police caught one suspect after a Centralia woman called 911 from her locked bedroom to say people had broken into her home yesterday.
She heard someone banging on the door and wasn’t expecting anyone, so she locked herself in her room, according to the Centralia Police Department.
The knocking stopped and someone kicked in the door, Sgt. Dave Clary said. While she was on the phone with 911, the intruders broke through the interior door where she was, Clary said.
“The burglars were surprised, she yelled or screamed or something,” he said. “They went out the door.”
Officers responded to the approximately 4:20 p.m. call to the 900 block of West Pear Street.
Clary said the two were carrying shoes, like athletic shoes, when he arrived to the scene and they took off running. He said he chased them for about two blocks and then the suspects separated.
One was found hiding and was taken into custody, he said.
A police dog track for the second person was lengthy, but unsuccessful, according to Clary.
Isaiah M. Kelly, 20, of Federal Way, was arrested for residential burglary and booked into the Lewis County Jail.

Peabody would have to register his firearm, amongst other registrations, that’s why he wields a sword…not a gun.
It’s unfortunate that the Home Owner was not armed with a high speed lead slinger, the community would be better off without these types of locust running wild in the community. Stand you’re ground in you’re home, never run because when seconds count the police are minutes away. My weapon of choice would of been my Samurai Sword, lying in wait ready to cut the Thanksgiving Turkey. Sending a message to criminals is priceless cutting off a hand is the best medicine for theives these days since the Justice system is just a catch and release program these days.
