CHEHALIS – Centralia police are trying to track down the source of counterfeit $100 bills being passed at local businesses, with tell-tale markings of Chinese or Asian symbols printed on them in pink or red ink.
Police detective Patty Finch is asking anyone who accepts a suspicious looking bill to call the police immediately to help them identify the person or person’s using them.
“Although we have only received reports of $100 bills being passed, it is our understanding that there may be other denominations circulating,” Finch said in a news release today.
The detective advises the public to inspect bills before accepting them, especially in light of approaching holidays, and presumably the increased spending that means.
Anyone who has any information on this is asked to please contact Finch at the Centralia Police Department.

I do! But I will not say. I will say this much, the person who is doing this is doing it right under everyone’s nose. It’s kinda funny to be honest.
Bo if you know call 911 right away and remember use caution and don’t approach criminals they could be armed and dangerous. Let law enforcement handle the risk.
Bo Rupert
No you don’t.
I wonder who will come knocking on your door first, the police or the counterfeiters?
I would really like to get a translation of the Chinese characters.
It takes just a few minutes to check the internet and find that these are Chinese bank practice banknotes. You can get a fist of these through eBay for just a few real dollars.
I know exactly who is behind this, but I won’t say…… too risky!
