CHEHALIS – The Lewis County Coroner’s Office has released its annual report showing that last year 33 individual’s deaths here were accidental, 11 of them were suicide and none were found to be homicide.
Of the 767 deaths occurring in Lewis County during 2015, most of them were labeled as natural, meaning they occurred from the natural disease process.
The coroner’s office serves the county by investigating sudden, unexpected, violent, suspicious and unnatural deaths.
Lewis County Coroner Warren McLeod is responsible for finding the cause and manner of death. He was elected to the half-time position at the end of 2010 and since has been authorized into a full-time position.
In past years, the coroner has generally been unable to determine the manner of death for five or fewer people annually. At the end of 2015, McLeod had 13 cases in which he could not say why the person died, according to the report.
The majority of the eight-page report primarily describes the coroner’s office’s purpose, mission and methods.
McLeod’s summary does not offer any data on the causes of death predominant in Lewis County.

What a JOKE. Lewis county doesn’t have any murders because they don’t want any. They don’t want to spend the money it takes to investigate and try a murder case. Which if history tells us anything its that they would screw it up anyway. Like forget to take the papers upstairs to the prosecutor’s office, contaminate the crime scene . . . No its easier for them to just label it undetermined then they don’t have to do anything.
Like the girl who was beaten to death in Randle. They are waiting for toxicology reports when it was more then obvious that she had been severely beaten to death. By the time they get around to investigating it for what it is, if they ever do, there won’t be any evidence. Gee maybe they could have Tony Nelson advise them
Okay yee yee, How does an undetermined death make the report invalid? There are cases where the manner cannot be determined. The three kids who dies in the house fire in Centralia for example. If the cause of the fire cannot be determined then the manner of death (homicide, accidental, natural, etc) cannot be determined. That doesn’t invalidate the entire report.
Sunshine Girl: obviously the homicides you said were reported were not found to be homicides by the coroner’s office or they would have appeared on the annual report.
stop driving hondas or get a removable steering wheel,… or any number car disabling security products. Lo jack? Its up to the property owner to secure their property. Not the police. The more thefts reported justifies a high crime rate and the hiring of more wanna be billy badass policemen. They like high crime.
This is garbage reporting. This had nothing to do with the county or Warren McLoud. Its either real life numbers or the skewing of them. Just one undetermined death mean this report is invalid.
Now lets combat Honda Theft and property crimes and were in to something.
Bobby they were already reported.
Sunshine if you know of a couple of homicides that occurred last year then report them.
As far as other counties you would have to look at counties of the same populations yo be comparable.
Warren Mcloed is a damn good guy, probably the best to have in the coroner’s seat.
So , is this average for other counties or is this just a really good place to get away with murder because I know of a couple ????
