ASSAULT ON CHRISTMAS

• A large inflatable Santa Claus and snowman on display at in the front yard of a residence on the 600 block of Tucker Road outside Toledo were slashed with a knife while their 81-year-old owner and her husband were out at a high school basketball game on Friday evening. The victim said the deflation took place sometime between 5 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. The loss is listed at $200.

ASSAULT ON SLEEPING MAN

• Chehalis police were called about 11:25 p.m. yesterday by an individual on Southwest William Avenue who said he was awakened by someone spraying a fire extinguisher on him. The case is under investigation, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

MISSING GAMES

• Centralia police were called just after 10 o’clock yesterday morning about the theft of a Xbox and games from the 1400 block of Johnson Road.

MISSING MEDS

• Chehalis police were called about 3:15 p.m. on Friday to take a report of stolen medication from the 600 block of Southeast Dobson Court. About 30 tablets were missing but nothing else was taken, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

MISSING STOVE

• Deputies arrested a 38-year-old man yesterday afternoon in connection with a used stove stolen from a 95-year-old Onalaska resident on Nov. 8. Damion E. Robbins, also of Onalaska, was booked into the Lewis County Jail for residential burglary, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. Prosecutors however declined to file the felony charge. Deputies are trying to find the appliance now, the sheriff’s office reported this morning.

• Officers responded to the 400 block of Third Street to a reported infant left in a vehicle at about 2:35 a.m. yesterday morning. When the officer arrived and checked the vehicle, it was just a basket.

ON THE ROAD, OFF THE ROAD

• Chehalis police and firefighters were called about 10:40 a.m. yesterday when a man was discovered bleeding and laying in the road on Northwest Folsom Street. The incident is under investigation, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

• A 32-year-old Seattle man was arrested for driving under the influence after a single-vehicle collision at about 12:15 a.m. on Saturday at Chilvers Road near Brockway west of Chehalis. Perry F. Elvy’s 2008 Ford F350 was totaled and he sustained a cut above his eye as well as injuries to an ankle and a finger, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. Elvy was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to the sheriff’s office.
