CHEHALIS –  A motorist spotted smoke and flames just east of Interstate 5 when passing through Chehalis yesterday afternoon, drawing a response from three departments for a structure fire.

Chehalis Fire Department Capt. Casey Beck said they found a detached garage burning next to a vacant home near the 500 block of Maryland Avenue at about 2 p.m.

“We got there, the garage was fully involved,” Beck said. “We pulled a line and got it put out.”

The response involved about a dozen firefighters, he said.

Since the residence was unoccupied, the garage was empty, and now it’s gutted, according to Beck.

“I’m not sure why it caught fire, it’s still under investigation,” he said.

    Behind the douche bags.

Sorry, I forgot the screw driver behind the douche.

Inbred or inbed? When you are faced with 3 different sizes of the same old douche bag, I would consider it inbed. Stuck like a squealing pig. Glad I live out in the country free and willy nilly. But God lov’s ya honey! URP!

I guess that is what you can expect when you live in an inbred neighborhood.

Oh I get it. If it’s a Chehalis Westside elitist that burns his house down from an unsupervised pan of hot grease, it’s an honest mistake according to Chehalis Fire Department investigators. But the guy in a less “approved” hovel (according to the Westside Neighborhood Watch” that has the same very common mistake is considered an arson. Money bags and the reek is very offensive.

Interesting how many fires we have had on the “westside” in Chehalis, of late. Just find it curious. How many fires this past year were deemed unexplained by fire inspectors, mostly from the Chehalis Fire Department? Home owners are making a killing in this neck of the woods.

I live close enough to that house/garage that I can smell the smoke aftermath just by opening our back door. Kudos to the CFD for such a quick response (and to the driver who called it in). A tip of the hat to the PUD for getting power back on in less than two hours and to CenturyLink for restoring phone service this afternoon after the fire climbed a utility pole and scorched some lines.

My wife and I were out for lunch when the fire broke out and it was all but extinguished when we came home. As dry as it’s been, it could have been a lot worse and we’d be looking for a new home for the second time since the December 2007 flood. We’re lucky. Needless to say, we’re interested to hear what the fire investigator comes up with. What’s ironic is that this house’s new owner JUST signed the closing papers the morning of the fire after it had sat empty for nearly two years.
