CHEHALIS – Chehalis police are asking for the public’s help after a scary incident for employees at K-Mart at closing time on Friday night.
Officers were called to the store on the 1200 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue about 9:20 p.m. as workers were searching for a shopper who hadn’t left the building, according to the Chehalis Police Department.
A review of security footage showed he had been hiding in an unused room at the back of the store, changed his clothes and donned a ski mask and gloves, according to police. He was also carrying some kind of handgun, Deputy Chief Randy Kaut said.
While employees looked around, they they heard an alarm at a rear door, when the subject fled the building, police said. Arriving officers did not locate him.
Kaut said initially it was believed he was intending to shoplift, but it seems he may have planned to rob the retailer after it was closed to the public.
In the beginning, the suspect was wearing a white baseball cap, sunglasses, a large dark blue or black “puffy” jacket with four letters of writing on the front, dark blue jeans, and dark colored shoes with white soles, according to police.
When he left, he was wearing a ski mask, a black T-shirt, blue latex gloves and the same pants and shoes, police said.

Maybe the gunman was in the store to make sure everybody was being obedient little wage-slaves.
…and everyone who works at WalMart and K-Mart had loaded guns trained on their temples to turn in applications. I hate it when they do that rather than allow people the choice of who they seek employment with. We should all be bank presidents, doctors or lawyers.
An “honest” paycheck is one that enables a human being to raise a family, buy a home, etc.
A K-Mart paycheck does none of that. So much for a billion dollar corporation. Too poor to pay a proper salary.
The only ones ‘gaming the system’ are the K-Marts and Wal-Marts and their using the government to subsidize worker pay. Another corporation that makes billions, but pays employees just pennies.

Instead of demanding respect from others, try having a little respect for yourself.

Wow, those pictures are really not good for I.D.! How can you tell if someone is picking their nose versus adjusting their glasses? How can you tell if it’s a handgun or a phone case?
