Centralia police seized pounds of methamphetamine and bundles of cash yesterday morning when they made two traffic stops around 9:40 a.m., one in town and the other north of Centralia on Old Highway 99 in south Thurston County.
Two local men were arrested.
Members of the Centralia Police Department Anti Crime team were working with drug detectives from the Tacoma area, according to Officer John Panco.
Both vehicles were impounded.
In the door panels of a silver Toyota FJ Cruiser, police found more than $110,000 in currency, according to Panco. In the Ford Explorer, a plastic bag containing numerous pounds of meth was discovered, Panco said.
Arrested were Ascencion Ortega Garcia, 34 of Centralia, and Venacio Bastian Tolentino, 37 of Rochester, according to the Centralia Police Department. Both are citizens of Mexico, according to Panco.
The arrests grew out of an ongoing investigation, according to police.
Panco said he understood the men were booked into the Thurston County Jail.
Panco said police are not releasing any more details at this time.

I feel one topic should be noted before this article vanishes into the archives……DCE says that the seized money should be used to re-open the pool in Centralia. My concern is that chlorine is a neuro toxin used in the 40’s for chemical warfare. I believe this would go against your flouride battle and wreck your image.

Most of the anger over drug addiction is not understanding it is a disease that should have been cured by now (but since some prefer vengeance, we have prisons instead). How about funding some decent research on a vaccine? Or a medical intervention? Instead of another form of Viagra or eleventeen different pills for sleep?
Most of the anger over immigration is this idea that we have “rare resources”, like jobs…. the more people who want to work and contribute, the BIGGER the economy grows. The economy is not a zero sum game.

I’m not trying to win anything. My point was that this is Mexican Cartel Meth and it’s not being made in the united states.
It starts in a factory tucked away in some city like Chiapas, Michoacan, or Matamoros. From there, the dope is smuggled over the border by well-paid “mules” and even better-paid CIA agents to make sure it reaches a “safe house”.
After being smuggled into the United States, the Mexican cartel meth (but the ton) is divided up and shipped off to cities like Los Angeles, Houston, Akron, New York, Boston and Miami.
With each step the meth makes, more and more money is being generated by the mules and their partners in crime (corrupt law enforcement).
Ah, but the fun doesn’t stop there. Once the dope is sold and there is a pot of gold at the rainbow, the cops only THEN make an arrest. The arrest is to make it look like they are trying to fight the “war on drugs”, but it also makes them feel high from adrenaline.
Like Muslim run countries, they execute the druggies. I digress, you have a far superior argument to mine, though I deal with these alleged “hard working” union members and such and their employers every day. You have a much better understanding. You win.

The government is capable of reducing almost to the point of eliminating the amount of drugs that enter this country if they chose to. Here is the kicker…they do NOT want to. Those drugs create a whole industry. They create millions of jobs. It gives the government exactly what it wants more than anything…money.
Take away drugs and you could empty out and shut down half the prisons in this country (which has the most prisons of any on the planet). Take away drugs and you would eliminate what the police spend easily the majority of their time looking for thus eliminating the need for probably half the police that are out there. Take away drugs and the DOC would have almost nothing to do. I don’t have the statistics, but I would venture to guess somewhere between half to 2/3 of DOC caseloads are for drug offenses since the reason people are on DOC is because they are considered most likely to reoffend and obviously people addicted are very likely to reoffend. Easy money. Most murderers are not given DOC probation when they get out. Why…because the odds of them reoffending are very low. Yet, every person who is being released from prison due to a drug crime will get probation.
The bottom line is drugs bring our government huge amounts of money and job security. Do you think they are illegal because they are concerned about the health of the individual using or the exaggerated danger they pose? Give me a break. They are illegal because it guarantees the governments survival. It also gives the government/police a reason to butt into your business and private life. What reason would a cop even have to search anybody if it weren’t for this “plague” of drugs that they are “protecting” us from? History shows there are plenty of examples the government being directly and indirectly involved with ensuring that drugs enter this country.

Also these were not the big dealers, they were the runners that are easily replaced so no the cops haven’t gotten to the source! In defense of the rest of the great state of washington, Lewis County is “special” in regards to it’s status throughout the rest of the state.
Just like in the deep south, the fine folks of Lewis County predominantly vote Republican and thus against their own best interests.
It’s been that way since the first uppity southerners came here looking to escape their past crimes in other states. They found a fine home in Lewis County and they’ve been lynching union members and outright murdering anybody that gets in thier way of the “american ideal”.

So I see this article and think hmmm. Is this what happens with the american dream? Ive known Ascension for about 15 years, my ex’s brother. Is this what he choses to use his rare and coveted american status for, to deal drugs? It breaks my heart to know there are so many imigrants that work so hard to be legal, and this particular one spits on the whole system.
I hate to say it, but it’s our own drug using white / black / yellow / purple / etc. Lewis County trash that creates the demand for this poison in the first place. Once here, the Mexican drug dealers are able to recruit the young men and women they need into young thieves and whores to keep the operations growing. Were everyone being a real parent and raising good kids there would be no market for such things in the first place. As it is, the more we degrade as a society the more each generation turns to drugs and nonrelationship sex to escape doing their part to make our community a better place. The death spiral stops when each person decides to make a difference, not getting stoned and hoping someone else does something.
Not sure about the process with the money, but the Meth will be held for as long as needed for trial, then destroyed with several documented witnesses, both civilian and law enforcement present after weighing and lots of paperwork.
The ignorance and lack of understanding of basic laws I see here comes as no surprise to me, from what I’ve seen is about par for the course for most residents of Lewis County. I’ve been to some pretty backward counties… But those were in Mississippi, Alabama, and Arkansas. Come, on you’re better than this (could be mistaken). Washington is supposed to be a “progressive” state.
