CHEHALIS – The skeletal remains found in a Toledo-area field in February 2010 have been positively identified as Travis Seeber, 35, of Toledo, the Lewis County Coroner announced this morning.

DNA was used to figure out who they belonged to, according to Coroner Warren McLeod.

The cause and manner of Seeber’s death are still undetermined, McLeod said in a news release.

The remains were found on Feb. 18, 2010 by a child playing on property near the 100 block of Cougar Lane. At the time, the sheriff’s office said there did not appear to be any foul play.

Chief Civil Deputy Stacy Brown said deputies had been looking for Seeber since 2008 when they responded to a felony assault in which he was a suspect south of Winlock and soon after found his truck abandoned off Cougar Lane.

Seeber had allegedly groped an 18-year-old babysitter and waved a pistol when she awoke, but then apologized and fled. His driver’s license was found on the seat of his vehicle and a tracking dog did not find him.

The coroner, the sheriff’s office and a forensic anthropologist from the King County Medical Examiner’s Office are working together to come up with answers about the cause and manner of death, according to McLeod.

The sheriff’s office still don’t believe any foul play was involved in his death, Brown said this morning.

McLeod said he doesn’t know when the death occurred because of the skeletal condition of the remains.

DNA samples were sent to a lab at the University of North Texas, a lab that handles only non criminal cases and conducts the analysis free of charge, according to McLeod.

“These two “partners” that always comment in here are so funny. The really stupid one tries to validate his postings by claiming his postings are having some kind of effect on people. The only effect I see coming from them is when I get this big smile and just say to myself…”What a dumbass”.”

    I agree!!!

You and OMG are like a couple of giggly little school girls pointing and laughing at everybody about how “stupid” they are. You lovebirds are the real joke.

Nobody is laughing. The death of a human being is not some kind of joke. But, sickos like you and OMG can’t accept reality, let alone facts.

Give it a rest. Your hatefulness is really tiresome and adds nothing to the conversation except further inflaming it.

If they have something to hide or something to cover up it’s a “suicide” or “no foul play is suspected”. OMG Really unless you found the body yourself or assisted on the investigation yourself, all you really have is an opinion like the rest of us. It says a child playing on the property found the remains (ie there was no search team combing the area that found them, and it was come upon by accident)…and last I checked they don’t let civilians poke around crime scenes and be “involved” in “search teams” after the yellow tape goes up…which is EXACTLY what would happen and what the area would be considered after human remains were found, no matter what the circumstances turned out to be. It’s called a protocol and even the most Podunk police forces have them. You are either on the force out there in Toledo or you’re full of shit. My guess is full of shit. If you were on a search team looking for this guy after he went missing, you all turned up jack squat…which is exactly what you know about this case. If you want to get high and mighty with your UNeducated guesses, at least don’t pretend to know more than you do and put others down for their opinions.

“It is what it is..” according to the coroner no cause of death has yet been determined.Seems a little early for the sheriffs office to be commenting on no foul play involved. Taken with the report of a felony assault being reported in the area, and his abandoned truck found near by….in 2008. His body wasn’t found, in a field mind you, til 2010. Found not by any search and rescue people, I hasten too point out, but by a child playing in the area.

This raises two questions, how does a 35 year old person end up dead in a open field? Also, how can some one claim because they are alleged to have been a member of the search team, this allows them to be able to give an authoritative opinion on the deceaseds cause of death? Again the deceased was found by a child playing, not any search and rescue party.

OLJ don’t pay attention to the Haters, without Haters I wouldn’t be having an effect.
It’s just odd that a young person just happens to be dead in the middle of a field. Especialy someone that is wanted.

You guys love to try and dismiss people all the time. Exactly which “conspiracy theory” are you people referring to exactly?

    The statements:

“Perpetrators of crimes very often return to the scene to either observe or help the police.” —- FACT

“Men don’t just walk out into a field and die.” —- FACT

Where is this supposed “conspiracy theory”?

  7. OMG Really says:

Thank you very much, PARANOIDMUCH. SOme people seem to always have a conspiracy theory. Perhaps this guy had a health issue and didn’t want to be found. Maybe he was just done….. not everything that happens in Lewis County is an episode of ” X-Files” or CSI- Lewis County”.

  8. Free Air says:

Never accept a simple explanation when a vastly complex conspiracy theory will do!

  9. Steve says:

Im sure it was suicide. Isnt that what Lewis County officers always call it?

  10. ParanoidMuch? says:

Old Long Johnson… dude – really? You are implying that OMG has inside knowledge of a death….. just because he helped on a search team. You reaaally need to get out more. Say -you know, they are always looking for volunteers on Search and Rescue and the LC Sheriff volunteers. You might be surprised how easy it is to become an “insider”. 🙂

  11. Free Air says:

    NOW THAT’S FUNNY!!!

  12. OldLongJohnson says:

Many time the perpetrator will help in search efforts to find thier own victims.

A 35 year-old man does not just walk out into a field a die.

It sounds to me like OMG is a Lewis County “insider”.

  13. OMG Really says:

Attention DCE: Hello there Perry Mason wanna-be. I was involved with the search team on this case. Just so you know… it is what it is, nothing more.

  14. The Dirty Cop Enforcer says:

They still don’t believe any foul play was involved in his death, Brown said this morning.
I’m sure theres more to this story than being told.
