CAR MISSING

• A deputy was called just after midnight when a 1992 Honda valued at $500 vanished from where it was parked in front of a house on the 1600 block of J Street in Centralia, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

TOOL HEIST

• Approximately $10,000 worth of tools were stolen in a barn burglary on the 200 block of Blankenship Road in Mossyrock, the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office reported this morning. Taken was also a Craftsman top-mount toolbox and a rolling tool box, according to the sheriff’s office. A deputy was called on Wednesday about the theft that occurred sometime between sometime between Saturday and Sunday, according to Chief Civil Deputy Stacy Brown.

OUTBUILDING BURGLARIES

• A Stihl chain saw was stolen from a shed on the 100 block of Borovec Road in Chehalis sometime between 6 p.m. on Wednesday and 11:30 a.m. yesterday, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

• A Stihl chainsaw, hedge trimmer and weed eater were stolen from a storage shed on the 1500 block of Bishop Road in Chehalis sometime between 11 a.m. on Wednesday and 11 a.m. on Thursday, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

SUSPECT FLEES WAL-MART

• A 19-year-old man was arrested yesterday after he allegedly was caught shoplifting at Wal-Mart and then fled from security personnel. Police called about 3 p.m. to the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue were told the suspect picked items from the shelves and attempted to return them in exchange for a gift card. He was taken to “loss prevention” but then fled the store, according to the Chehalis Police Department. Johnny R. Vancil, from Spokane, was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to police.

VEHICLE PROWL

• Centralia police were called about 5:30 a.m. today to the 500 block of North Rock Street regarding three car prowls. Nothing appeared to be missing, according to the Centralia Police Department.

VANDALISM

• Centralia police were called yesterday to two incidents of tire slashings. The first was reported on the 400 block of Madison Street just before 8 a.m. and the other was discovered on the 600 block of Jackson Street, according to the Centralia Police Department.

FATAL COLLISION

• A head-on crash southeast of Yelm in Thurston County last night left one woman dead and another – a 40-year-old Tenino resident – injured, according to the Washington State Patrol. According to the state patrol, Fiona M. Regan, of Tenino, fell asleep and drove her Isuzu Trooper into the oncoming lanes where it collided with a an Isuzu Amigo driven by a 55-year-old Puyallup woman. Trooper called about 9:40 p.m. to 161st Way and Smith Prairie Road reported Linda H. Burkhardt of Puyallup was taken to Harborview Medical Center where she died. Regan was taken to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia with unspecified injuries, according to the state patrol.

DEER WRECK

• A 19-year-old driver was taken to Providence Centralia Hospital yesterday after he swerved to miss a deer and rolled his car on the 500 block of Larmon Road in Ethel, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s office. A deputy called about 1:25 p.m. found the Geo Metro totaled and the driver suffering from neck pain, according to the sheriff’s office.

TEEN FOUND WITH MARIJUANA

• Centralia police were called yesterday morning to the 800 block of Eshom Road regarding a 17-year-old boy with marijuana at Centralia High School. The case will be referred for possible charges, according to the Centralia Police Department.

SEARCH WARRANT IN CHEHALIS

• A 41-year-old Chehalis man was arrested when police served a search warrant just before 7 a.m. this morning at the 200 block of Southwest Second Street. Suspected meth was found in a zip lock baggie in his pants, according to the Chehalis Police Department. Thomas D. Crews was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to a department spokesperson, Officer Linda Bailey. Information about what officers were searching for wasn’t immediately available.

SEX ABUSE

• A 38-year-old Randle man pleaded not guilty yesterday to allegations of sex abuse involving a young relative. David C. Haviland  was in Lewis County Superior Court following his was arrest last week when incidents going back to 2008 were disclosed to a counselor and subsequently to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. Haviland, who worked at Hampton mill for 16 years, according to his attorney, was ordered in July to undergo evaluations for domestic violence as well as drug and alcohol issues related to an April arrest involving an assault of a family member. His sentence in that case gave him one day in jail but was suspended for five years. He remains in the Lewis County Jail held on $250,000 bail.

  2. Ahh Every Body resorted to name calling, I just tried to inject the facts about Brians opinion about cannabis, then the Board turned into a gigantic pushing match with words. Most cannabis user are calm in situations. Especially when were just posting opinions on the Lewis county Sirens. Anyways staying subject and not talking about other mens spearms counts . Or should I get off subject and comment that Fluoride lowers your sperm count also Brian, but who cares right? Knowledege is Power, Micheal Phelps the Gold Medal Olympic Champion uses Marijuana. The fact is Brain, Marijuana is a Harmless Herb, just drop the nonsense about the subject. I’m afraid that your very wrong about cannabis and trying to even have a civil conversation about the subject would just quickly become a name calling match… Grow Up and smell the Cannabis, after all it will be in stores before you know it. Take your complaint to the Governner because the voters have spoken. I would love to debate you on the subject if you can act properly. Can you?
