CHEHALIS – James M. Reeder, now 26, appeared briefly in court today when lawyers apprised the judge of their progress in preparation for a trial in the death of 2-year-old Koralynn Fister.

Prosecutors allege Reeder tortured and raped his live-in girlfriend’s youngest daughter in their Centralia home. Reeder was arrested May 24 after he claimed he found her face down in the bathtub.

Defense attorney David Arcuri and Lewis County Senior Deputy Prosecutor Will Halstead told the judge they thought the trial would last seven days. It is set for the week of January 28.

Reeder is charged in Lewis County Superior Court with homicide by abuse, two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of first-degree child rape and possession of methamphetamine.

He has pleaded not guilty.

Well I am Not one to Judge…But put him in Prison for the rest of his Life…Not 25 to Life….Life…..Koralynn Fister was innocent…Did Not deserve what happened to her…But Thank-God above she is now a Beautiful Angel….Not enough can be done to those Bad People that hurt Children…May All Our Pretty Little Angels Rest in Peace!!!

Not saying he doesn’t deserve it, but I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for the death penalty.

First of all, Jonathan Meyer has shown that he’ll do everything in his power to avoid trying a case with a possible death sentence because the county can’t afford the endless appeals process.

Second, for all the talk about protecting children, sentences for people who abuse or kill kids are almost ALWAYS lower than if they’d done the same thing to an adult. It’s not just here, it’s everywhere.

I’m expecting a plea bargain down to first-degree manslaughter with a sentence of 25 years to life…hopefully in the general prison population, where child rapists and murderers aren’t the most popular of inmates.

I’m not a big supporter of capital punishment, but in a case like this, it’s hard to imagine true justice coming from anything but a long drop on a short rope.

Absolutely disgusts me, she was a beautiful Babygirl with a full life ahead of her… I hope he gets a hard sentence to bring a baby to death with what he did… No one deserves that i hope the justice system sees this one through

I hope they put him in general pop. in jail and we can forget the trial.

  6. BahlsDeep says:

I hope he gets an eye for an eye treatment in which ever corrections facility he calls home in the end. There is absolutely no reason to let this tool shed ever become part of Lewis County or any other society again.

  7. Jackie says:

I hope he gets life in prison!!!!!!
