CHEHALIS – When police searched the house off of West Oakview Avenue following the death of 2-year-old Koralynn Fister, they found methamphetamine in the suspect’s dresser drawer, according to authorities.
Prosecutors added a drug offense when they charged James M. Reeder today in Lewis County Superior Court.

Reeder, 25, was arrested on Thursday evening after aid and police were called to the Centralia neighborhood. He told police he found the child face down in the bathtub when he stepped out to grab a towel. Authorities said they found numerous injuries, including signs of rape.
He was shackled at the waist and feet when he appeared before Judge Richard Brosey this afternoon.
Reeder was charged today not with murder, as the prosecutor had indicated they were pursuing, but homicide by abuse.
The crime is a class A felony, with a maximum penalty of life in prison.

He was also charged with two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of first-degree child rape and possession of methamphetamine.
Earlier today, Koralynn’s mother was in another courtroom, as Child Protective Services attempts to determine what to do with Koralynn’s 4-year-old half sister. Police asked them to take the child temporarily into protective custody the evening Koralynn died.
A CPS spokesperson said it’s too early to know the state’s intentions.
The mother, Becky Heupel, shared her home with Reeder and her two daughters for about 10 weeks.
Heupel and the 4-year-old’s natural father both suggested, through attorneys this morning, the child could live with relatives of theirs.

Well this is my older sister, as a mother myself of a little girl who is gonna be four i just dont understand how she didnt know what was happening to my lil kora. I had my set of issues with drug abuse and crap boyfriends but never ever in a million years would i ever leave my baby with any of them. Even after a year i was with my partner it was still a no go for me. Somtimes last minute i would need a sitter for work and not any one of the three men i have been with since my daughter was born ever valunterd or have any want to watch a kide…guys well most guys r like that in general even more so if it isnt there own child. Becky if you do read this im sure you will because if i could remmeber right you spend more time on facebook-myspace man hunting while allee would b in her play pin almost 24-7 …you are just like r mother and the sad thing is you were saved from the harsh up bringing me and your other siblings were subjected too….Hope u r happy now…….was gettn that guy really worth it?……only 10 weeks some basterd off line u diddnt even know….atleast i have enough since to get know somebody first before they enter my childs life and even then my guys i dated were known by friends and familey. you self centered spoiled waste of life u should have never had the privallege of being a mother…im sure you just kept going after allee so you didnt have to get off your big *** and work and have your grams support you like your use too.I can go on and on about you but its a waste you r the way u r and will never change…funny on all your profiles u always made a point to say ppl talked bad of you cause there jealouse of you….ya im really wishing i was you right now……a spoiled, lazy, worthless excuse for a human and i hope what you did eats away at you everyday like it does me …..THANKS ***** I NEVER HAD A CHANCE TO MEET KORA ONLY MY NIECE ALLEE….its all because you only care about you……”wheres my boyfriend?”…..really?????…….u make me as sick as he does……and he is where u should b aswell……..i hope to god they never give u allee back and if u get pregnant agian they take it asap…

I feel as a community…we all should get on the phone or go down to the DA office and demand they charge that mother with neglegt and abuse and even for being a acessary “murder”!!!
Homicide???????!!!!!!!! Where is there any justice in that sentence?!!! If they found drugs in the home. The Mother is on them as well. Hello??? There is no way she didn’t know. I don’t know her but when you make stupid choices as to let a scum on dope move into your home and tell you what to do with your kids obviously since the beginning your on fucking dope too and he’s probably supplying it in someway. Unless she was involved with the abuse to her daughter how does she not notice from what the coronor said is wounds that looked like they had started to heal. Meaning that there was trauma before this incident. Obviously she is high too and not giving two shits and only caring about her next high. Especially if what Motherofthree says is true, arriving on the scene and her first concern is her boyfriend?? I repeat just ten minutes, thats all we need. And if they do not charge the animal who left her child with Reeder could you at least sterilize her???? And stick that remaining child in the Witness protection program.
What about the mother being charged with neglect of Koralynn at the least? She had to have known some of the abuse! I have a Centralia PD friend who was on the scene and when she arrived home to see all the commotion her first thing out of her mouth was “where’s my boyfriend?”
