Decker<br \/>\nLewis County Sirens news reporter<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>CHEHALIS &#8211; Lawyers spent half a day yesterday questioning potential jurors to hear the first-degree murder trial of Onalaska resident Ronald A. Brady.<\/p>\n<p>Brady, 60, is charged in the April 2010 shooting death of 56-year-old Thomas McKenzie of Morton and first-degree assault for allegedly firing at McKenzie&#8217;s estranged wife Joanna McKenzie as she fled his property on the 2100 block of state Route 508.<\/p>\n<p>He told sheriff&#8217;s detectives he was staying overnight at his unoccupied house in case burglars from earlier in the day returned.<\/p>\n<p>Some 70 prospective jurors were whittled down to six women, six men and two alternates by 5 p.m. yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Lewis County Superior Court Judge Nelson Hunt is hearing the case.<\/p>\n<p>The attorneys are scheduled to begin with their opening statements at 9:30 a.m. today.<br \/>\n\u2022\u2022\u2022<\/p>\n<p>Read most recent story <a title=\"&quot;Onalaska murder trial set for next week&quot; from Thursday june 16, 2011\" href=\"https:\/\/lewiscountysirens.com\/?p=6883\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Sharyn\u00a0 L.
