THEFTS

• Police were called about 7:50 a.m. yesterday to the 2000 block of Southwest Olympic Drive where someone had broken into a shed and stolen “some kind of engine for a midget” car, according to Chehalis police.

• A coat, some chaps, a three-foot grow light and a bicycle were among the items stolen from the 100 block of Fifth Street in Dryad sometime between Sunday and Monday, according to a report taken yesterday by the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. The loss is estimated at $1,000.

• The Morton Police Department reported yesterday $100 worth of various items were stolen in a burglary on the 200 block of Main Avenue in Morton. The break-in to the residence was reported on Wednesday morning. The intruder apparently got inside though an open window, according to police.

• A laptop computer was stolen from a vehicle parked at W.F. West High School in Chehalis on Saturday, according to a report made to police yesterday.

DRUGS

• A pair of Centralia residents were arrested yesterday afternoon for allegedly attempting to pass a forged prescription for pain killers at the 500 block of South Tower Avenue in Centralia. Manana R. Rivera, 39, and Richard Rivera, 32, were booked into the Lewis County Jail for forgery, according to the Centralia Police Department,

• Chehalis police were called to the parking lot at Wal-Mart yesterday morning where an individual in a car was reportedly in the process of shooting up drugs. Bryan L. Housden, 21, of Centralia, was subsequently arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for possession of heroin, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

DISPUTE

• A 25-year-old Chehalis man who allegedly expressed his anger during a dispute by pulling down his pants was arrested for indecent exposure yesterday afternoon. Don E. Braley was booked into the Lewis County Jail following the incident with an apartment building owner on the 200 block of Chehalis Avenue, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

VANDALISM

• A 49-year-old man was jailed for third-degree malicious mischief after he was caught spray painting on the side of Cascade Mental Health in Chehalis on Friday. Police reported Steven M. Fullerton had a ladder and written out close to a paragraph before he was detained.
