LOG LOADER GOES UP IN FLAMES

• A truck driver coming into work about 3:50 a.m. today noticed a log loader on fire at North Fork Timber on Hamilton Road, moved some trucks and tried to put it out with fire extinguishers but was unsuccessful, according to Lewis County Fire District 5. When firefighters arrived, the piece of heavy equipment was fully engulfed in flames and was destroyed, according to Firefighter Brad Bozarth. They estimated the loss at about $150,000, Bozarth said.

DRUGS

• Centralia police arrested a 30-year-old woman for possession of methamphetamine overnight. Sally K. Mcallister of Centralia was booked into the Lewis County Jail following an approximately 3 a.m. contact with an officer at the 1300 block of Lakeshore Drive, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Centralia police arresting a 23-year-old woman on a misdemeanor warrant late last night also arrested her for being in possession of prescription pills, according to police. Caitlin C. Mason, of Centralia, was booked into the Lewis County Jail after contact with an officer about 11:20 p.m. at the 1000 block of West Main Street in Centralia, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• A 26-year-old Rochester resident was booked into the Lewis County Jail yesterday for a felony warrant and possession of heroin, according to Centralia police. Shaunda D. Posadas was contacted by police around 1:45 p.m. at the 1300 block of Belmont Avenue in Centralia, according to police.

• Centralia police used a Taser on a 23-year-old Centralia resident who ran from officers yesterday, according to police. Dominic L. Coumbs had fled from officers the night before and got away, according to the Centralia Police Department. Coumbs was booked into the Lewis County Jail for an outstanding felony warrant, after contact with officers about 5:25 p.m. near the 1200 block of Alder Street, according to the Centralia Police Department.

CAR PROWL

• Centralia police were called about 5:15 this morning about a car prowl on the 200 block of Latona Street. Missing was a GPS device and a flask.

THREAT

• Chehalis police are investigating an incident in which a former patient of Valley View Health Center allegedly made a comment yesterday about “blowing the facility off the map” after he was refused pain medication. Deputy Chief Randy Kaut said officers have been getting a lot of that kind of complaint lately, people making threats when they are refused medications.
