RETAIL GROPING

• Chehalis police were called about 8:45 a.m. yesterday by an 18-year-old girl who described how a male touched her bottom while she was standing in a checkout line at Wal-Mart earlier this week. She said she turned around and confronted him, and he said “sorry” and left, according to the Chehalis Police Department.  Department spokesperson Linda Bailey said it apparently occurred around the same time on Tuesday morning when officers were summoned to the retail store on the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue because a stranger came up behind another 18-year-old girl and grabbed her inappropriately. Officers made an arrest this morning, booking a man into the Lewis County Jail for fourth-degree assault with sexual motivation, according to Bailey.

CHILD PUSHED DOWN

• A 77-year-old woman was arrested yesterday after she allegedly used her walker to push a small child to the ground at the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue in Centralia. Officers called about 4:15 p.m. issued Shirley R. Frost, of Centralia, a citation and then released her, according to the Centralia Police Department.

AUTO THEFT

• A a black 2001 Chevrolet Suburban was reported stolen just after 6 p.m. yesterday from a residence at the 1000 block of Ham Hill Road in Centralia. It has a license plate reading ATN 6987, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• A vehicle prowl was reported about 5:35 a.m. today at the 1800 block of Shamrock Drive in Centralia.
