THEFT, THEFT, THEFT
• A stolen gun and other stolen property were recovered from inside a vehicle stolen out of Des Moines that was located about noon on Sunday in a business parking lot at the 1000 block of Harrison Avenue in Centralia, according to the Centralia Police Department.
• Centralia police were called just before 1 p.m. on Sunday on a report a water pump was stolen from outside of a residence on the 400 block of Harrison Avenue.
• Chehalis police were called to a store on the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue about 1:50 p.m. on Saturday when someone plucked a purse from a woman’s walker and ran off with it. The suspect was pursued but only his bicycle, backpack and the purse were found, according to the Chehalis Police Department.
• Centralia police are investigating a first-degree theft after a 7:30 a.m. report from Saturday at a home on the 1300 block of Delaware Avenue in which a ladder rack and packages had been stolen during the previous five days.
FRAUD
• A Chehalis man is out $1,000 after a phone call purportedly from a company he thought he’d done business with offering him a refund because they were closing led to a supposed $1,000 overpayment and a request for him to return to them the difference using gift cards. The 27-year-old reportedly allowed the caller remote access to his computer to make the deposit to his account, according to the Chehalis Police Department. When police investigated, they found the phone number disconnected, but also associated with other reports of fraud, according to police.
VEHICLE PROWL
• Chehalis police were called to the 700 block of Northwest Liberty Place about 11:45 a.m. on Sunday when an individual spotted a stranger getting into their U-Haul van. The suspect had left and it didn’t appear anything was missing, according to the Chehalis Police Department.
• Centralia police were called to the 1000 block of Eckerson Road where a handcart and food products had been stolen from a semi-trailer about 9 a.m. on Friday.
DRUGS
• A 40-year-old Kent man was arrested for possession of methamphetamine after contact with police at the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue in Centralia just before 1 p.m. on Friday. Allen G. Dunlap was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to the Centralia Police Department.
ASSAULT
• A 25-year-old Chehalis resident was arrested for third-degree assault after allegedly assaulting paramedics who were trying to treat him at the 300 block of Lowe Street in Centralia just before noon on Sunday. Chase P. Underhill was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to the Centralia Police Department.
• A 55-year-old Burien resident was arrested for unlawful imprisonment and assault stemming from a physical altercation with his wife after police were called to the 1900 block of South Gold Street about 12:10 p.m. on Saturday. Lorimer O. Wallace was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to the Centralia Police Department.
ON THE ROAD, OFF THE ROAD
• A motorist was transported to the hospital for treatment after an apparent medical condition caused their vehicle to run into a house on the 600 block of Yew Street in Centralia just before 5:30 a.m. today, according to the Centralia Police Department.
• Centralia police called just before 10 p.m. on Saturday to a single-vehicle collision along the curves at the 500 block of North Gold Street found no driver but discovered the vehicle had recently been stolen. It was returned to its owner, according to the Centralia Police Department. The incident is under investigation.
