HAMMER ASSAULT

• A 29-year-old woman was arrested for second-degree assault after allegedly swinging a hammer at her father, striking him in the hip last night. Deputies called about 7:45 p.m. to the 100 block of Larmon Road booked Hayley R. Smith into the Lewis County Jail, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

STAB THREAT

• Centralia police called just before 8:30 p.m. yesterday about a disorderly person at the 1500 block of View Avenue ended up arresting the person, who allegedly threatened to stab officers. Shane A. Mendoza, 28, of Centralia, reportedly resisted when he was arrested for obstructing a law enforcement officer. He was booked into the Lewis County Jail.

• A propane heater was stolen from a porch at the 700 block of South Pearl Street in Centralia, according to a report made to police about 6:40 a.m. today.

OTHER THEFT

• Chehalis police were called just after 5 p.m. yesterday to the 300 block of South Market Boulevard to take a report of missing items from a residence, including coins, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

• Centralia police were called about 9:25 a.m. yesterday to take a report from an individual at the 1100 block of Crosby Avenue of an unauthorized charge to his debit card. The This case is under investigation, according to the Centralia Police Department.

AUTO THEFT

• A deputy was called about 11:35 p.m. yesterday to take a report that a 45-year-old Winlock woman had taken a vehicle without permission from the 2700 block of Highway 603 on Monday afternoon. The suspect and the missing silver 2003 BMW 530 are believed to be headed to southern California, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. It has a license plate reading BHS 8168, according to the sheriff’s office.

• Centralia police were called yesterday about an overnight vehicle prowl at the 800 block of South Pearl Street in which sunglasses and $20 were taken.

FAKE BILL

• Centralia police were called about 8:30 p.m. yesterday to a business at the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue where a man in his 40s had allegedly passed a fake $10 bill.

UNWELCOME SLEEPER

• Chehalis police were called about 12:50 a.m. today to the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue for a male sleeping in front of a store who would not wake up. The reporting party indicated the individual was intoxicated and wanted police to move him along.
