HEAVY SHOPLIFTING
• A 20-year-old Chehalis resident was arrested for second-degree theft after she was caught allegedly shoplifting a felony level of merchandise from a retail store at the 1300 block of Lum Road in Centralia yesterday. Officers called about 12:45 p.m. booked Desiree M. Webley into the Lewis County Jail, according to the Centralia Police Department.
ON THE ROAD, OFF THE ROAD
• The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office reported this morning a Chehalis motorist was cited after she lost control of her vehicle and traveled about 200 feet off the road and struck a fence. The 37-year-old Chehalis woman had turned to check on her two children and when she turned back saw a vehicle in the middle of the road, according to the sheriff’s office. It happened along the 200 block of Romerman Road near Napavine on Saturday morning, Chief Deputy Duty Breen said. One of the children had small cuts on their face from glass and the 1999 Toyota 4Runner was totaled, Breen said.
