GUN CRIME

• A 57-year-old Toledo man was arrested yesterday for allegedly pointing a shotgun at a family member the day before during an argument at the 600 block of Evans Road in Toledo. The 53-year-old victim told a deputy Mark J. Johnson made a comment like he should kill her before replacing the gun in the corner of  the room, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. The two had been drinking, according to the sheriff’s office. Johnson was booked into the Lewis County Jail for first-degree assault, Chief Deputy Dusty Breen said.

MORE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

• A 38-year-old Centralia resident was arrested for second-degree assault after allegedly lifting a 35-year-old family member off the ground by her throat on Sunday. Deputies responding to the 3600 block of Kristam Place in Centralia booked Michael A. Hutson into the Lewis County Jail, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

• A 20-year-old from Estacada, Oregon was arrested after allegedly arriving  unexpected to his former girlfriend’s recreational vehicle at the 1000 block of Gore Road in Onalaska on Sunday afternoon, engaging in a physical altercation with her and 24-year-old man and then holding her for a short time against her will. Christopher N. Smith was was booked into the Lewis County Jail for first-degree burglary and unlawful imprisonment, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

TEEN SICKENED BY MARIJUANA

• Centralia police are investigating after a 17-year-old girl said she was dropped off on a street corner when she became ill yesterday from marijuana laced with an unknown substance. The teen was in medical distress when contacted by an officer just before 4 p.m. at Reynolds and Harrison avenues, according to the Centralia Police Department. The person who gave her the marijuana is the person who left her there, according to police. She was taken to Providence Centralia Hospital and the case is being investigated, according to police.

BURGLARY

• Police were called about 3:25 p.m. yesterday for a residential burglary at the 3000 block of South Diamond Street in Centralia. A television was taken, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• A deputy was called yesterday morning to the 700 block of Main Street in Vader about an overnight burglary to an unlocked garage in which a 35-gallon air compressor was stolen. The black Craftsman compressor is about four feet tall with wheels and is valued at $250, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

GRINCH ALERT

• The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office reported yesterday they are investigating the theft of 20 Noble Firs from a Christmas tree farm on the 200 block of Young Road in Mossyrock. The eight- to 10-foot tall evergreens vanished between 3 p.m. last Wednesday and 9 o’clock the following morning, according to the sheriff’s office.

POSSIBLE FRAUD

• Police were called on Friday afternoon to the 200 block of Sunset Drive in Mossyrock where an individual reported she was finding third-party checks being deposited into her checking account.

DRUGS

• A 53-year-old Centralia resident was arrested for possession of methamphetamine yesterday when he was picked up on an outstanding warrant at the 700 block of Yew Street, according to the Centralia Police Department. Steve E. Williams and  Bethia L. Williams, 53, also of Centralia, were both arrested for warrants and booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to police.

AND FROM MORTON

• Morton police reported yesterday that last Tuesday they took a report from the 700 block of Adams Avenue that teenage girls tried to take an individual’s walker and that someone had shaved the individual’s cat. The cat is missing, according to the Morton Police Department.

• Police responding to a report of an explosion about 6:40 p.m. on Friday at the 300 block of Knittle Way in Morton found pieces of pumpkin littering the street and noticed the smell of sulfur, according to the Morton Police Department.

SECRET SERVICE CASE

• Morton police got an anonymous call from Mossyrock last Thursday by a person who told them of Facebook posts in which someone stated Donald Trump should be assassinated.  The case was further investigated with the help of the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office with no evidence of who the post was from, according to the Morton Police Department. The information was forwarded to the U.S. Secret Service, according to police.
