Sirens Weekend Overflow: Police and fire roundup

SECURITY RV BROKEN INTO

• The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office reported yesterday a camper belonging to a person who provides security at logging sites was burglarized some time between 8 p.m. on Friday and about 12:50 p.m. on Saturday. A deputy called to the area at Centralia-Alpha and Coal Creek roads learned that among the missing valuables was a 45 caliber pistol, a passport, a small flat screen television and two generators, according to the sheriff’s office.

AUTO THEFT

• A deputy was called to the 100 block of Gleason Road outside Centralia about 3:30 p.m. on Friday when the owner of a 1990 Honda Accord discovered her car was missing from where it was parked at her residence. There is a person of interest, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

VEHICLE PROWL

• Someone broke a window and stole a Ruger American 223 rifle from a vehicle parked near Galvin and River Heights roads on Sunday while its owner was floating the river, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

DRUGS

• A 40-year-old Winlock man was arrested over the weekend after a pipe stem with residue was found when he emptied his pockets for police after being stopped for riding a bicycle with no headlight. Barry W. Worley came across two officers about 3:15 a.m. on Saturday near Northwest Kerron Avenue in Winlock and was later arrested for possession of meth after the substance field-tested positive for the drug, according to information provided to prosecutors by Toledo Police Officer Randy Pennington. Worley was booked into the Lewis County Jail.

• A 28-year-old man who reportedly was running in and out of traffic in Chehalis was arrested for disorderly conduct and then subsequently for possession of methamphetamine. A deputy responding about 5:40 a.m. on Friday to Market Boulevard at Fourth Street located a glass pipe with residue that field tested positive for amphetamine, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. Jason R. Chandler, from Raymond, was was booked into the Lewis County Jail.

SEX CRIME

• An 18-year-old Centralia resident was arrested on Friday after adults learned from a 13-year-old girl and texts on her cell phone the two had been dating almost a year and engaged in sex. Austin R. Nachatilo was booked into the Lewis County Jail and then charged on Monday in Lewis County Superior Court with second-degree rape of a child and communication with a minor for immoral purposes. His bail was set at $20,000.

ON THE ROAD, OFF THE ROAD

• Deputies responded about 7 p.m. on Sunday to a collision near milepost 3.5 of Skate Creek Road North in East Lewis County finding a 2004 WRX Subaru totaled. It appeared the car came around the corner too fast, skidded and possibly rolled over before running into the trees, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. There was no driver to be found but a box of cold beer was located nearby, according to the sheriff’s office.

• A Salkum man was arrested for driving under the influence after his motorcycle skidded through the intersection at North Military and Nevil roads in Winlock and collided with concrete blocks and stumps. A deputy responding to the approximately 2:20 a.m. wreck on Sunday reported Roy L. Coleman was taken to the hospital to be checked out and needed to stay there so he was cited, given a court date and then released, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.
