MOTOR VEHICLE MISHAP

• A woman was pinned into some shopping carts when her car suddenly lurched forward while she was looking into its engine compartment yesterday evening at the 500 block of South Tower Avenue in Centralia, according to Riverside Fire Authority. Firefighters called about 6:20 p.m. report she had parked in front of Halls Drug Center and was trying to fix an engine problem. The woman was able to free herself prior to the arrival of emergency medical personnel, according to Capt. Scott Weinert. The victim, who was around 30 years old, was transported to Providence Centralia Hospital in stable condition, according to Weinert. There was no damage to the building, he indicated.

STUFF STOLEN FROM RESIDENCE

• Centralia police were called just after 5 p.m. yesterday regarding a theft of multiple items from a home on the 1100 block of Long Road. Among the missing property are a tablet computer, speakers and an unspecified amount of money, according to the Centralia Police Department.

DRIVEWAY PROWLED

• Police were called to the 1300 block of Rhobina Street in Centralia about 2:40 p.m. yesterday where they were told that someone had removed the back license plate from a vehicle sometime during the previous two days while it was parked in a driveway. The plate number is AXH 9071, according to the Centralia Police Department.

VEHICLE PROWL

• Centralia police were called about 7:40 a.m. yesterday to the 1100 block of South Tower Avenue where sometime during the night, someone stole a 2002 Yamaha YZ250 motorcycle from the bed of a pick-up truck.

DRUGS

• Police called just before 8 a.m. yesterday regarding possible squatters at the 500 block of South Pearl Street in Centralia found unspecified drugs in a backpack belonging to an individual with an outstanding warrant. Guy A. Johnson, 41, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for possession of a controlled substance, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Twenty-two-year-old Jared A Heminger was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and heroin when he was detained for an outstanding warrant at the 2000 block of Borst Park Avenue around 9:20 p.m. yesterday, according to the Centralia Police Department. Heminger was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to police.
