AUTO THEFT

• Police were informed about 8:15 a.m. yesterday that a pickup truck reported stolen on Friday from the 1600 block of North Scheuber Road was found by a family member, abandoned at Washington Avenue and Plum Street in Centralia.

CAR PROWL

• Chehalis police were called just before 4 a.m. today about a vehicle prowl at the 600 block of Southeast Dobson Court.

HANDBAG THEFT

• A woman reported to police yesterday afternoon that her purse was stolen from a shopping cart at Safeway on the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue in Centralia, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Chehalis police were called about 4:15 p.m. yesterday by a woman who said she left her purse in the restroom of a restaurant on Northwest Louisiana Avenue and when she returned about an hour later it was gone and nobody had turned it in.

MISSING MEDS

• An officer was called to the 400 block of Centralia College Boulevard about 4:30 p.m. yesterday regarding the theft of medications, according to the Centralia Police Department.

CHRISTMAS SHOP(LIFT)ING

• Centralia police responded to three reports of shoplifting within a half an hour at the Centralia Outlets yesterday evening. Two males who took jacket from a store at the 100 block of West High Street were caught on video but not apprehended, according to the Centralia Police Department. A male reportedly stole two pairs of shoes from a business on the 1300 block of Lum Road. And then just after 7 p.m., an officer responding back to High Street arrested a 16-year-old boy for stealing a pair of shoes, according to police. He was released and the case is being referred to prosecutors for third-degree theft, according to police.

DRUGS

• A 19-year-old was arrested for possession of methamphetamine following a traffic stop about 12:30 a.m. today at Wilson Street and 16th Avenue in Chehalis. Uriah W. Osborne, a homeless person, was booked into the Lewis County Jail, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. A 19-year-old man with him was arrested by Chehalis police for possession of marijuana and then released with a court date, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

SHOOTING COMPLAINT

• Chehalis police were called just before 4 p.m. yesterday about someone on Northwest Florida Avenue repeatedly firing a weapon. An officer contacted someone who had recently moved there and perhaps did not know that discharging a firearm inside city limits is prohibited, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

ON THE ROAD

• Police and medics responded about 4:35 p.m. yesterday to a collision involving a vehicle and a bicycle at Fourth and Pearl streets in Centralia. The bicyclist was checked out and his injuries minor enough he was able to ride away, according to the Centralia Police Department.
