THEFT FROM FRONT YARD
• Police were called to the 300 block of West Summa Street in Centralia at about 5:45 p.m. yesterday after an individual was seen getting out of an older motor home and stealing a desk and building materials from a front yard, according to the Centralia Police Department.
THEFT FROM BEHIND FENCE
• Centralia police were called about 3:30 p.m. yesterday to the 900 block of South Tower Avenue where someone tore down a fence and stole a blue sand rail, according to the Centralia Police Department.
THEFT OF GUNS
• The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office took a report yesterday that someone stole two firearms from a 71-year-old woman’s home on the 100 block of Bunker Creek Road west of Chehalis. Missing are a Ruger revolver and a Taurus pump-action 22 rifle, according to the sheriff’s office. It was determined they were taken between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Nov. 4, Cmdr. Dusty Breen said. The loss is listed at $1,150, Breen said.
AUTO THEFT
• Chehalis police called yesterday to the Twin City Town Center parking lot about a car that had been there for some time discovered the green Acura had been reported stolen out of Centralia. The ignition was damaged and its owner was going to make arrangements to get it towed, according to the Chehalis Police Department.
CAR PROWL
• Centralia police were called about 6:15 a.m. today to a vehicle prowl at the 900 block of Marion Street. Taken were two chainsaws, according to the Centralia Police Department.
• Cigarettes and medications were reported stolen from a vehicle parked at the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue in Centralia, according to a report made to police about 7:25 p.m. yesterday.
• Chehalis police were called about 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday about a car prowl in a parking lot on Southeast First Street near Market Boulevard. Someone rummaged through the vehicle but nothing initially appeared to be missing, according to the Chehalis Police Department.
VANDALISM
• A deputy responding to an early-morning alarm at a business on the 100 block of Habein Road south of Chehalis found someone had shot up two windows and a door, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. It’s unknown exactly when it happened, as no alarm company called it in, but the deputy arriving about 4:45 a.m. on Tuesday noted the damage appeared to have come from a shotgun, according to the sheriff’s office.
• A deputy was called to the 700 block of Ninth Street in Vader yesterday where someone vandalized a car, breaking out windows and spray painting various parts of its hood, fender and trunk. The 2013 Subaru WRX belongs to an 18-year-old Chehalis man and the incident occurred between 1 a.m. and 10 a.m. yesterday, according to the sheriff’s office.
• An inmate at the Lewis County Jail reportedly got upset and punched a kiosk, breaking it and causing $1,000 in damage. A deputy investigating the incident on Tuesday afternoon arrested 30-year-old Billy R. Edwards-Reser for second-degree malicious mischief, the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office reported this morning. The kiosk is a device used for inmates to communicate with jail staff.
• Graffiti taggings were found yesterday morning on a building at the 600 block of North Tower Avenue in Centralia.
• Chehalis police on Tuesday took reports of graffiti taggings on a wall behind the 700 block of South Market Boulevard, on a storage shed at the 1900 block of South Market Boulevard, at the bus garage on the 200 block of Southwest Third Street, and on a garage and a fence at the 200 block of Southwest First Street. Most reports specified black spray paint was used.
THREAT
• Police responded about 4:30 p.m. yesterday when an auto dealership on the 1900 block of Southwest Louisiana Avenue in Chehalis reported getting two phone calls, one in which an individual threatened to kill them all if someone did not come to their home immediately. The call came from a number in the Chicago area and in a call back to that number, a dispatcher was told a child had been playing on the phone, according to the Chehalis Police Department.
ON THE ROAD
• A 74-year-old Chehalis woman was arrested for driving under the influence after her vehicle collided with a power pole yesterday evening at the 100 block of Twin Oaks Road west of Chehalis. Information from individuals who witnessed her driving prior to the approximately 6:10 p.m. wreck led to a deputy requesting a search warrant to get a blood draw for testing, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. Sheila K. Swanson sustained minor injuries such as abrasions and after a trip to the hospital, she was booked into the Lewis County Jail, Cmdr. Dusty Breen said.
