VEHICLE VERSUS UTILITY POLE

• A 56-year-old driver was injured when his pickup truck ran off the road and struck a power pole in South Lewis County yesterday evening. Troopers were called about 5:30 p.m. to state Route 506 approximately four miles west of Vader report Timothy R. Headen of Ryderwood was traveling westbound and his vehicle failed to negotiate a curve. The cause is under investigation, but he is to be cited for driving under the influence, according to the Washington State Patrol. The 1990 Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck was described as totaled. Headen was flown by LifeFlight to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, according to responders.

• Centralia police were called about 1 p.m. yesterday to the 100 block of West Main Street about copper wire getting stolen.
